ATLANTA – Springer Mountain Farms Southern Wing Showdown (SWS) Produced by Taste of Atlanta is back for its second year and plans to bring the heat. On Sun., Aug. 20 from 1-5 p.m., The Foundry at Puritan Mill will host the sizzling event for wing enthusiasts where 25 of the hottest chefs from Atlanta, Savannah, and Charleston to name a few, will debut their most enticing wing recipe.

The second annual event promises to be a sensory experience that blends live music, lawn games, wings and spirits for a clucking good time. Known as the ultimate party food, this year’s wings will take center stage, ranging from sweet and mild to fiery hot. Between tasting stops at each station, wing aficionados can play corn hole, snap a photo in the Smilebooth and chow down in a wing-eating contest. Attendees become judges when they cast a vote for the festival’s finest wings, awarding one lucky participating chef with the “Best of Fest” traveling trophy. Reigning champion, Zach Schultz of Savannah’s Cotton & Rye, will make his second festival appearance in hopes of clenching the title once more.

“We’re back again this year to give wing lovers another taste of 25 of the most finger-licking wing recipes,” says Dale DeSena, AWF Founder. “Our chefs and mixologists make this one of the best event experiences in Atlanta!”
