ABOUT PARK TAVERN:

Park Tavern, a favorite neighborhood bar, restaurant, brewery and events facility, is located on the Atlanta BeltLine in the heart of Midtown on the corner of 10th Street and Monroe overlooking Piedmont Park and the Midtown skyline.  The building was originally built in 1905 as horse stables for local racing enthusiasts and then transformed into a golf clubhouse in 1928. 10TH ANNUAL DOGGIES ON THE CATWALK RETURNS FOR ITS BIGGEST EVENT EVER

Posted by Liz and John Attaway, 4/24/17

The Annual Fashion Fundraising Event Celebrates Its 10th Year of Pairing Canines and Couture to Benefit Canine Assistants

Saturday, May 6, 2017 at The Shops of Buckhead

Atlanta, Georgia – Doggies on the Catwalk returns this year for its biggest show to date, with a crowd-pleasing runway lineup that will include Atlanta’s most adorable pups, local personalities, and coveted luxury brands – all coming together for an unforgettable evening of fashion, fun and philanthropy.  The event will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 7 p.m. at the Center Plaza at The Shops Buckhead Atlanta.
“We’re putting on the biggest and best show yet to mark Doggies on the Catwalk’s 10-year anniversary,” says event founder E. Vincent Martinez of Fashionado. “We’ve come a long way from our humble beginnings and the event just keeps growing every year. It’s become one of the top fashion events to snag tickets to in town – and we hope the best is yet to come.”

Last year, the event raised an all-time high of $75,000 for Canine Assistants, a non-profit organization that trains and provides service dogs to children and adults with physical disabilities, seizure conditions or other special needs. In addition to providing loyal companionship, the service dogs are trained to help with essential everyday tasks – from turning lights on and off and opening and closing doors – to pulling wheelchairs, retrieving dropped objects and summoning help.

This year, Martinez hopes to raise $100,000 in proceeds for the organization.

“We’re honored to be the host venue for such a worthwhile cause,” says Anneliese Reid, marketing manager of The Shops Buckhead Atlanta. “What’s not to love about cute dogs and great fashion hitting the runway? Better yet, it all goes toward supporting a wonderful local charity.”

Tickets start at $50 for general admission and can be purchased at www.fashionado.net/doggiesonthecatwalk.

Emceed by beloved media icon Monica Pearson, the event will also feature the season’s most sought-after looks from top designers and brands such as AKRIS, Alice + Olivia, COS, Jimmy Choo, Les Copains, Kit + Ace, Monck Mason, NARS, TODS and Theory, which will be modeled by local notable personalities such as D’anne Heckert, Courtney Cicero, Michelle Crosland, Jennifer Balcos, Alex Page and more.
