All proceeds benefit Wholesome Wave Georgia’s two core programs: Georgia Fresh for Less™ (GF4L) and the Fruit & Vegetable Prescription Program® (FVRx). Georgia Fresh for Less matches dollar- for-dollar what EBT/Food Stamps consumers spend at their local farmers markets to encourage healthy and affordable eating habits. The statewide program serves more than 10,000 families per year across more than 41 counties and features a network of 62 farmers markets in both rural and urban communities. The Fruit and Vegetable Prescription Program creates affordable access to fruits and vegetables by partnering with fresh food and healthcare providers to write healthy eating prescriptions for families with diet-related illnesses. The FVRx Program operates at four sites across the state and redeemed over $66,000 worth of fruit and vegetable incentives in 2017.
