Brezza Cucina, Chef Jonathan Waxman’s restaurant and bar inside Ponce City Market, will host ‘Taste of Terra Madre’ on Thursday, August 23rd, an event to benefit Slow Food Atlanta’s sponsored delegates attending Terra Madre Salone del Gusto 2018. The collaborative dinner and silent auction connects four of the city’s most talented Italian-trained chefs, including Andrew Cacioppo of Brezza Cucina, Jessica Gamble of KR SteakBar, Michael Patrick of Storico Fresco Alimentari e Ristorante and Jamie Adams of Il Giallo Osteria & Bar, for an evening around slow food.

Made up of small-scale farmers, herders, fishers, artisans and cooks from across the globe, the Terra Madre network takes care of the earth, sea and natural resources, and represents a sustainable model of agriculture. Since 2004, Slow Food has promoted Terra Madre, and this year, Slow Food International has selected 14 sponsored delegates from Slow Food Atlanta to represent the city at Terra Madre Salone Del Gusto  2018, a biennial Slow Food event bringing together 7,000 international farmers, producers, activists, educators, chefs, communities and visitors from 160 countries to celebrate good, clean and fair food.

At Taste of Terra Madre, guests will mingle over hors d’oeuvres, wine and Negroni cocktails while bidding on silent auction items including a MiniMax Big Green Egg, a Blue Ridge, Georgia getaway, a Georgia Grown Gift Basket and more. Following, guests will be invited to sit at communal tables for a four-course, family-style dinner with wine pairings curated by the participating chefs and Brezza Cucina’s Beverage Director Don Pirone. Local Farmers attending the international gathering of Terra Madre in Turin, Italy, will provide select produce for the dinner.

Tickets to attend are $78 per person (including tax and gratuity) and can be purchased here. Seating is limited.
