The Mayor’s Office of Film, Entertainment and Nightlife presents Summerhill Crawl on Friday, June 16, a showcase of entertainment and businesses along Georgia Avenue in this vibrant, redeveloped neighborhood.

From 5-9 p.m., Summerhill Crawl boasts a lineup of live entertainment from local musicians Pterocat, Chey Hawwt, and Clawdad, and film screenings from local filmmakers Alexandra Petkus, Kelvin Summerhill, and Brandi Stevens. Residents and visitors also will have the opportunity to explore the neighborhood’s many restaurants, businesses, and artists.

For two decades, the Grant Park Conservancy Summer Shade Festival has welcomed music, art, and event enthusiasts to close out summer during two fun-filled two days celebrating Atlanta’s oldest park. The 21st annual Summer Shade Festival will take place on Saturday, August 26, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday, August 27, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Featuring an impressive lineup of live music, an expansive artist market, bouncy houses for the kids, a 5K run, family-friendly activities, local food trucks and vendors, cocktails, beer and more, the festival is free to attend and welcomes all ages.

“I am so proud of the work the Conservancy and the Summer Shade committee do to bring this festival to the community. Their hard work and volunteer efforts are what make this festival a beloved southeast Atlanta tradition. We can’t wait to welcome everyone back to the park this August for great music, food, and art,” says Michelle Blackmon, Executive Director of the Grant Park Conservancy. 

On Saturday morning at 8 am, runners, walkers and strollers are invited to kick off the festival at the annual Adams Realtors Run for the Park 5K. UNDER THE TENT SERIES PREMIERING THIS FALL AT ART FARM AT SERENBE

Three major events will offer something to enjoy for every member of the family!

Today, the Art Farm at Serenbe team is thrilled to announce the first-ever “Under the Tent” series premiering this Fall. The “Under the Tent” series will be a compilation of three events: “Mashups in the Meadow”, a special night featuring five former American Idol performers, “VOICE: A Night of Spoken Word” hosted by Emmy nominated writer and storyteller Jon Goode, and the internationally acclaimed aeralist troup Les Farfadais presenting “SERENITY”, a whimsical and immersive, acrobatic cirque style show created exclusively for Art Farm. 

The “Under the Tent” series will commence with “Soiree at Serenbe” on September 21. This evening will be an engaging gathering for art patrons and enthusiasts in support of ambitious plans to expand the Art Farm campus. Festivities will include libations and bites as well as feature a live auction. Patrons will also experience a preview of each exciting performance scheduled for the series. 

“This series is incredibly exciting and offers something for everyone to enjoy!” said Madalyn Mentor, Director of Operations for the Art Farm at Serenbe. “As a unique global destination for the highest caliber of entertainment, we are thrilled to offer this spectacular compilation of events in our magical location. “Mashups in the Meadow” performance will showcase the incredible talents of former American Idol stars Diana DeGarmo, Ace Young, Melinda Dolittle, Brandon Rogers, and Alexis Grace. The program will consist of well known song pairings “mashed up” as well as a taste of each performer’s original music. Whether a fan from their time on the well-known talent reality show or just someone who loves hearing incredible singers perform live, this show is sure to please audience members of all ages.

“VOICE: A Night of Spoken Word” will be hosted by writer and storyteller Jon Goode. Four Atlanta performers will be joined by a live band as they share stories, poetry, and music. The performers for the evening include Amina Brown, Jonathan Samuel Eddy, Scotty Crowe, Kifayat, and Goode Stuff Experience.

“We were inspired by our visit to Serenbe to create, “SERENITY,” a unique and magical show that reflects the beauty of this special place.” said Kyle Kier from Les Farfadais. “Our multi-discipline circus troupe combines the talents of aerial art, acrobatics, and storytelling for a show that will give audience members a totally unique experience.”

Learn the art of the tease with Boudoir Burlesque at Distillery of Modern Art on Sunday, June 25th from 2 p.m. – 3 p.m. Critically celebrated and award-winning teachers from The Atlanta School of Burlesque will start by walking burlesque beginners through the fundamentals of the sensual dance style. Welcoming all skill levels, Zara Estelle will teach Burlesque movements and walks, leaving participants loving their bodies and the new moves they have learned. Dance enthusiasts who have built up an appetite learning new skills can sip on the latest Summer cocktails from Distillery of Modern Art. Celebrate the Start of Summer with Exciting Events at Atlantic Station Including
 Screen on the Green, Museum of Illusions, Wellness Wednesday and More
 

With the arrival of June, the days start to stretch out longer and it becomes the perfect time to take part in Atlantic Stations summer activities. This month, some of the city’s best happenings will take place at Atlantic Station in addition to several kid-friendly programs, such as movies on Atlantic Green, making a visit to Atlantic Station the perfect summer activity.
 
This month will also feature the Midnight Market, an all-night happy hour for foodies who love to eat, drink and dance. The Market will include 30+ delicious food vendors, multiple bars, live music and free roller skating. Whether you are bringing a date, your friend group or riding solo make sure to bring your appetite!

Halcyon invites the community to play, shop, dine and experience what’s new at the mixed-use village

The long-awaited summer season is finally here and to celebrate, Halcyon has a calendar full of events to enjoy throughout June. Unwind from the week and groove along with live music at Groovin’ on the Green each weekend. Kick off the summer in tropical style and sip on tiki-inspired cocktails at Cherry Street Brewpub’s new summer pop-up bar, Tiki Street. The tropical vibes continue with a fabulous Ladies Night Out: Tropical Nights. Bring the little ones to Halcyon Kids Club, a free weekly children’s event on Village Green. There is plenty to do and something for everyone to enjoy at Halcyon in June.

Groovin’ on the Green

Fridays and Saturdays in June from 6 – 9 p.m.

Celebrate the weekend with dancing and singing along to live musical performances on Village Green. Enjoy local musicians across a variety of genres playing top hits. Halcyon Kids Club

Wednesdays in June from 10 a.m. – noon

Preschoolers are invited to play and make new friends each week at the free Halcyon Kids Club! The little ones can engage in a rotating menu of activities ranging from arts and crafts, dance, animal encounters, storytime, puppet shows, music and so much more. Themes and activities vary weekly and will be announced on Halcyon’s Facebook page and Instagram stories. A parent or guardian is required to stay with each child during the duration of the event. Rise & Wine: Wicks and Wine Workshop

Join Rise & Wine for an evening of wine tasting and candle making! Guests will create their own signature candle scent by blending and pouring into two different candle sizes, an 8-ounce tin and a 10-ounce glass, add in a raw crystal or a hidden message that will be revealed as the wax melts. Farm Animal Yoga

Mooove on over to Halcyon for Farm Animal Yoga, featuring animals from North Georgia Wildlife Park!
