Taste of Atlanta, the city’s weekend-long food and drink festival celebrating the local restaurant scene on October 19, October 20 and October 21, announces “World of Taste” as the theme for its 2018 Friday Night Kickoff Party. On October 19 from 6:30pm to 11pm at Historic Fourth Ward Park, the all-inclusive kickoff event will be hosted by acclaimed Atlanta Chefs Archna Becker of Bhojanic, Eddie Hernandez of Taqueria del Sol and Hector Santiago of El Super Pan.
“World of Taste” will showcase international flavors from across the globe, bringing together over two dozen local chefs to prepare unique dishes representing a variety of cuisines, including Salmon Usuzukuri with pickled wasabi stem, chives, black volcano salt and crispy crunchies from O-Ku, Crispy Mortadella with giardiniera from Donetto and Lamb Steak with coffee molasses steak sauce, arugula pesto and new potatoes from Twisted Soul. Other participating restaurants include CO, Deep End, il Giallo Osteria & Bar, Porch Light Latin Kitchen, The Mercury, Tiny Lou’s and more. Dixie Vodka, the official vodka of Taste of Atlanta, as well as Bulleit Bourbon will serve tastings of cocktail creations alongside pours of international beers and beverages from Long Drink, Ravage Wines, Proximo Spirits, Topo Chico and White Claw Hard Seltzer.
Friday night guests will be treated to live music from funk and soul band Bumpin’ The Mango and The Cordon Blues Band, which features chef and foodie band members. Cheney Brothers, a leading food service distributor serving the Southeast, is the official food distributor of “World of Taste” and will be providing chefs with protein for their culinary creations. Tickets to the Friday Night Kickoff Party are $85 and can be purchased on Taste of Atlanta’s website here.
The Taste of Atlanta festivities continue on Saturday and Sunday with local chefs and hospitality pros leading on-stage cooking demos and hands-on cooking classes, while guests sample craveable bites from more than 90 of Atlanta’s favorite restaurants, plus Georgia craft beer, wine and cocktails. This year’s festival also features a Beer Garden, showcasing some of Atlanta’s favorite craft beer makers as well as cocktails and wine. In addition to the Saturday and Sunday tasting tents and Beer Garden, event centers include:
The Chef’s Table Stage: Sponsored by Nissan, the Chef’s Table stage gives attendees an inside view into the culinary world. Watch chef demonstrations and learn a trick or two while sampling dish creations from featured chefs.

The Kitchen Workshop: Sponsored by The Cooks Warehouse, PeachDish and Guy Gunter Homes, The Kitchen Workshop offers hands-on, free cooking classes for home cooks. Local burger joints to cook-off at Buckhead’s iconic shopping destination
Fire up the grills! Lenox Square and Atlanta magazine will once again host Atlanta’s premier burger-cook off, Best Burger Battle, on Saturday, October 20! From 1-5 p.m., this annual event will host over two dozen of the best local burger joints for hungry guests to indulge in, as well as live music, wine, craft beer and Bulleit Bourbon. Restaurants aiming for the No. 1 title include reigning champion THERE Brookhaven, ATL Taco, Public Kitchen & Bar, Zinburger, Davio’s Northern Italian Steakhouse, Dixie Q, Shake Shack and more. Tickets are $50 and are all-inclusive.

Dinner Will Support the James Beard Foundation’s Impact Programs
Honoring Cuisine of South Carolina Pitmaster Rodney Scott, a 2018 James Beard Foundation Award
Sunday Supper South, the annual charity dinner held to raise funds for the James Beard Foundation’s Impact Programs, will return to Ponce City Market for its ninth year on Sunday, October 28. Created to embrace the simple cooking philosophy and inspired flavors of the South, Sunday Supper South is hosted by Anne Quatrano, beloved Atlanta chef and owner of Bacchanalia, Star Provisions Market & Cafe, Little Star Provisions, W.H. Stiles Fish Camp and Floataway Cafe.
This year, the event will feature a “Bewitched” theme and honor the whole hog cuisine of Rodney Scott, a 2018 James Beard Foundation Award and celebrated pitmaster from Hemingway, South Carolina. Guests will gather around communal tables on the second floor of Ponce City Market’s Central Food Hall to share a family-style dinner highlighting the creative talents and artisan producers from the South, with participating James Beard Award winners, nominees and semi-finalists from across the region collaborating on the menu. A tarot card reader, Ouiji Boards and other vintage games will invite guests to experience the lighthearted mysticism of the evening.
This is the fourth year that Sunday Supper South will take place at Ponce City Market. Atlanta’s historic, mixed-use community hub features a Central Food Hall, serving as home to both established chefs and emerging new talent across the country, as well as fashion and retail shops, residential lofts, tech offices and more.

3rd Annual Grandiose Grape Wine Festival this year to be held on Saturday, November 3rd. It’s a wine, food, music, and community event benefiting The Cottage School Roswell. Come out to the outdoor wine tasting featuring 90 + wines represented by 30 wineries, live music, and food from The Mill Kitchen and Bar presented by Executive Chef Flynn McClanahan. General Admission Ticket are $65 and include entry at 2 pm, wine tasting, food, and souvenir glass, as well as all the above including wine, music, and food pairings. The 8th annual Great Atlanta Beer Fest will be held on Saturday, October 13th from 1-5 pm. We will have over 150 beers as well as a selection of 25+ wines and cider to choose from. There will be live music, DJ Q-tip, plenty of fun and games, and food will be available for purchase. The beer list will be added to the website soon. Duluth Town Green
Saturday, October 6th from Noon to 5 pm
The City of Duluth is hosting a celebration of Beer and Wine on the Duluth Town Green. Join us on Saturday, October 6th from 12:00pm-5:00pm to sample 75+ craft beers and 25+ wines. The day will feature live local music, beer and wine samples, a variety of local food trucks, an adult game zone, plus community vendors and artists. Tickets include: admission to the event, complimentary beer and wine samples for the duration of the festival, souvenir tasting glass. Featuring New Beers, Multiple Drink Stations, a Whole Hog Roast & More
Second Self Beer Company, the nationally recognized craft brewery based in Atlanta, Georgia, invites the community to join them in celebrating their fourth anniversary on Saturday, October 6, and Sunday, October 7! The weekend-long celebration will take place at their Westside brewery (1317 Logan Circle NW) and feature multiple drink stations, new beers, a whole hog roast, and more. The party is open to the public, with no advanced registration required. Proceeds from sales of a commemorative glass will be donated to support Soccer in the Streets, an organization that empowers underserved youth through soccer training, character development, mentoring, and employability programs.
The anniversary celebration on Saturday, October 6, is from noon to 9pm, and guests may try new beers and sip old favorites at drink stations throughout the brewery. In limited quantity for the occasion, Second Self will also serve a pre-release version of Red Hop Rye, brewed to be bigger and hoppier than ever. Food will be available for purchase from The Real Mexican Vittles taco stand, and local pop-up Illegal Food will prepare a whole hog roast and sides. Second Self will also serve a collection of beers made with coffee, such as Coffee Mole, as well as freshly roasted Nitro Cold Brew cups from Slow Wave Coffee, roasted at Second Self’s brewery. On Sunday, October 7, from 1 to 6pm, the celebration continues as tasting room guests may enjoy biscuit sandwiches for purchase from Deep South Biscuits.
