The Battery Atlanta will celebrate with their annual Tree Lighting event on November 23, free visits with Santa throughout December and third annual New Year’s Eve Bash
“For the third year in a row, The Battery Atlanta has transformed into a holiday destination,” said Jeremy Strife, senior vice president and general manager of The Battery Atlanta. “We are excited to welcome family, friends, and neighbors to The Battery Atlanta to celebrate the holidays all season long.”
The Battery Atlanta will begin the holiday season on November 23 with the Tree Lighting ceremony at the Georgia Power Pavilion and will be hosted by Greer Howard and feature special guests, including Santa and his reindeer, a Braves player, and BLOOPER. Following the festivities, the final film in the Xfinity Movie Series, The Grinch, will be shown on the plaza screen.
Santa will return this season at the SunTrust onUp Experience, with visits Thursdays through Sundays through Christmas Eve. All Santa visits are free and include a digital and printed photo. Santa has some special visits planned, including Sensitive Santa Sundays, a low sensory Santa experience for families with special needs, Santa Paws Nights with treats provided by Hollywood Feed for four-legged family members on December 8 and 15, and Noche con Santa for Spanish speaking families on December 12 and 19.
On December 14, the Jingle Bell Run, the longest-running, holiday-themed 5K race series, will be at The Battery Atlanta, with 100% of the registration fees and fundraising efforts benefiting the Arthritis Foundation. Registration is available at http://bit.ly/JingleBellRunATL .
The Battery Atlanta will celebrate the New Year in style with their third annual New Year’s Eve Bash, featuring an early countdown geared towards families and a traditional late-night show leading into the New Year. Braves in-game host Mark Owens will emcee the entire evening of programming. The early innings, for those wishing to ring in the New Year early, will start at 6 p.m. in the Plaza. The Heavy Hitters and BLOOPER will be on hand as well as David Girabaldi, a performance painter who transforms blank canvas in minutes to music. At 8 p.m., balloon baseballs will drop in celebration of the New Year. The late innings festivities start at 9 p.m., with the 12South Band providing the entertainment from the Georgia Power Pavilion Stage. The midnight countdown will include pyrotechnics and 2020 will begin with a confetti and aerial fireworks display.
Free parking is available in the Red, Green and Purple Decks for four hours on non-event days at The Coca-Cola Roxy.
