Prepare to be swept into a powerful multi-sensory experience when HEREafter, an immersive theatre production, returns for Episode 2, after premiering Episode 1 to sold out audiences in fall of 2019. This one-of-a-kind production engulfs the audience in the story of a family thrown into chaos after the death of their matriarch.

HEREafter Episode 2 is our creative team’s answer to the question: how do we navigate togetherness safely and offer an intimate experience during a global pandemic? We wanted to create a space where the physical restrictions we are all experiencing right now feel less hindering,” said Co-Director Kelly Bartnik. “HEREafter tells the story of dealing with grief, so its themes translate to this time where we are all grieving in our own ways. We hope that through this production, we can create some sense of togetherness.”

The HEREafter team’s goal is to put the safety and health of the audience and the cast members first and foremost throughout this experience. In order to ensure this, each performance will take place first from the convenience of the audience members’ cars and then move guests into an outdoor, open-air environment where social distancing will be enforced – all while maintaining the feeling of being completely entrenched in the show’s narrative. Audience capacity is also extremely limited to ensure appropriate physical distancing.

Touchless check-in and enhanced sanitizing practices, including cleaning and sanitizing the chairs between each show, are being implemented. All audience members will be six feet apart and required to wear masks upon exiting their cars and all cast members will have their faces covered during the performance.

For more information and to purchase tickets, visit www.freshtix.com/organizations/here. Please note due to the nature of the performance, late entry will not be permitted. In addition, a smartphone with data capabilities is necessary to enjoy the full experience.

About HEREafter, Episode 2:  Co-founded by Kelly Bartnik and Kathleen Wessel, HEREafter is an integrative pop-up theater experience from talent involved in NYC’s smash hit, “Sleep No More.” This unique Atlanta-based performance, HEREafter, popped up in the fall of 2019 and is returning again for part 2 of the whirlwind story. The five Atlanta-based cast members of HEREafter wrote and pre-recorded monologues, which were mixed and scored by New York-based sound designer John Glover, minimizing the need for spoken text. Coupled with choreography and staging by co-directors Kelly Bartnik (New York City) and Kathleen Wessel (Atlanta) in collaboration with the performers, the soundscore reveals inner and outer monologues, moving through grief and towards healing.

Posted by Liz and John Attaway, 9/3/20

Leading Interior Designers, Visionaries, and Luxury Brands
Registration now open here.

ADAC is excited to announce that its annual DISCOVER ADAC will return Sept. 22-24 in a virtual format, with inspirational presentations and product launches by acclaimed interior designers, creative visionaries, and the finest luxury brands in the business. During these unprecedented times, it is important to bring people together and design is a unifying form of artistry, where standing out does not mean standing alone. While the programming this year may be virtual, all ADAC showrooms will still be open daily (following strict health and safety guidelines), allowing designers to shop in person.

“If this pandemic has taught us anything, it is that creativity is a constant and unbreakable energy, and good design simply does not stop,” said Katie Miner, general manager at ADAC. “The past several months caused many of us to look inwards to our environments and made the concept of home as a sanctuary more important than ever. We are so excited to present all-virtual DISCOVER ADAC programming this year. We’ll be offering the same exciting panels and discussions, but the virtual aspect actually allows us to reach an even wider audience, allowing more people in neighboring cities and states, or even countries, to join in the conversation.”

NETHERWORLD HAUNTED HOUSE BRINGS HALLOWEEN NOSTALGIA BACK THIS FALL WITH NEW ATTRACTION

Posted by Liz and John Attaway, 8/8/20

Revel in Retro Horror at One of the Top Haunted Houses in the Country

Good news fright fans – the team behind the world-famous NETHERWORLD Haunted House is thrilled to introduce this year’s main theme, HALLOWEEN NIGHTMARES. Haunt guests will soon be able to enjoy an over-the-top adventure, loaded with amazing new experiences they won’t soon forget. Based on classic harvest and horror themes, HALLOWEEN NIGHTMARES’ story begins over one hundred years ago when the survivors of a brutal family feud sought vengeance against another mountain clan. Utilizing evil powers stolen from monsters beneath the earth, they were transformed into savage bat-like creatures and slaughtered their enemies on Halloween night!

“We’re working nonstop on the creation of elaborate sets, giant monsters, and mind-numbing effects just as we have every year since our inaugural season in 1997,” said Billy Messina, NETHERWORLD Haunted House co-creator. “Our 2020 main attraction will be a terrifying yet nostalgic romp down Halloween Lane, and seriously, during this time when nothing seems normal thanks to COVID-19, who can’t use a little spine-tingling fun these days?”

This Halloween, the bat-like creatures will resurface once again, disguised as distorted costumed revelers bent on bringing destruction to the cursed town of Whyshburg and only the Children of Autumn, a group of mysterious Trick or Treaters with strange powers stand in their way. Guests can expect eerie shadow creatures, legions of grinning jack-o’-lanterns, the Lair of the Ancient Alchemist, the Chamber of the Elder Thing and the Temple of the Bat God. Prepare for more vintage Halloween horror than your melted mind can handle! Stay tuned for details on official opening dates, ticket prices and more by visiting www.fearworld.com.

“Though we are beyond excited to announce the theme of our 2020 haunt, we know that COVID-19 will present many obstacles this fall,” said Billy Messina, NETHERWORLD Haunted House co-creator. “We want to ensure that we are taking the necessary precautions, while at the same time presenting a fun and entertaining experience. We have developed several plans regarding ticketing, queue lines, disinfecting, and more, and are working on stringent behind the scenes protocols. So much can and will change in the coming months, so we feel it’s premature to announce our definitive COVID-19 safety plan. Rest assured; we are constantly assessing and evolving our plans and protocols as more information and resources become available.”

Those seeking a little extra adventure can still get their fix while anxiously awaiting this season’s haunts through NETHERWORLD’s recently reopened escape rooms and outdoor laser tag arena. Both NETHERWORLD Laser Adventure and Escape the NETHERWORLD are being vigilant in light of COVID-19. Guests will find various safety measures in place that protect both them and employees outlined on NETHERWORLD’s respective websites. For more details or to purchase tickets, visit www.escapethenetherworld.com or www.netherworldlasertag.com.

Given the current climate of the world, organizers are keeping positive and using the extended timeline to expand the production and create an even more spectacular show with some epic sets that will have fans buzzing all year long.

Also returning in 2021 is an even bigger Imagine Festival Daytime Pool Party where Kaskade will heat up the decks for fans as part of his second set of the festival.
“The diversity and special B2Bs make this one of the most exciting lineups to date. Although we are all saddened we have to wait until 2021 for the experience, this announcement brings chills of excitement for the moment we are back together again. Stay tuned, there is so much more to come,” says Imagine Festival co-founder, Glenn Goodhand.
