BaconFest 2017

About: Atlanta’s outrageously savory and oft-salacious annual event, BaconFest, is set to return in 2017. The 17th annual event takes place Saturday, March 25, 2017 and we urge bacon-lovers to keep that date open and their attention locked on Dad’s, as the innovative, comedic crew will be revealing juicy details in the coming weeks about the 2017 meaty extravaganza. All proceeds benefit Dad’s Garage Theatre Company, a nonprofit theatre group that engages, cultivates and inspires artists and audiences alike by producing innovative, scripted and improvised works that are recognized locally, nationally and internationally for being undeniably awesome. Tickets are either Bottomless Bacon for $50 and Whole Hog for $95. Bottomless Bacon includes Unlimited Beer (Pale Ale, Tropical Torpedo, Otra Vez, Summerfest, and Miller Lite), Unlimited Bacon, and Games. Whole Hog includes all Bottomless Bacon options plus VIP room, more beer selection, and an April Loyalty Card to Dad’s Garage shows for free.

Hush Hush A Silent Disco Experiment

Date:  Saturday, March 25th
Time: 3 pm

About: Get ready to rock a LED headset and flip between 3 styles of music for all new dance experience on Edgewood Ave in Atlanta! How does it work? The music is transmitted from FM sound waves to the LED headsets. We can either stream the music, have a playlist or use a live DJ on each colored station. The participants can choose what station and volume of their headsets. We plan to spend 2 hours at 3 different locations on the event!

Hush Hush is the next wave of silent disco in this country and we’ll call it the silent disco experiment. Ready for some “Daylife” full of fun and drinking during the day? We are taking silent disco out of the clubs/festivals and creating a mobile music listening environment. Silent Disco is where all participants wear wireless LED headsets tuned to 2-3 different types of music. The headsets have 3 Led Colors, (blue, green & red), that coordinate with different styles of music. For example, we may have 80’s old wave on station 1, EDM on station 2 and top 40 club music on station 3. The venue will be completely quiet and you can have conversations with no interruptions due to loud music. There is only 300 spaces for the first event and plan to do this quarterly in Atlanta in various locations. Our plan is to visit 3 venues while dancing our way down the sidewalk from place to place.

Edgewood Ave Bar Lineup: Noni’s, The Music Room, Edgewood Speakeasy and Delightful EATZ (Check in 3-5pm at Noni’s, DE 5-7pm, Music Room 7-9pm)

DJ’s playing the tracks in your heads sets Brian Tedder, Bankface, 8NINE, B3, Fritz, DJ Dohrok, Embex, hard2tell and more TBA soon….

Our objective with this experiment is seeing/watching people sing and dance along to some of their favorite music in an all new atmosphere. We are taking the dance party out of the clubs/festivals to a different environment with new LED headphone technologies. Drink specials at the bars are $3-4-5 ($3 beers, $4 shots and $5 wells) 10% off food at Bone Lick BBQ with a wristband. Tickets run $20-$30.

You must reserve a headset in advance to participate and if fail you to turn in your headset there will be $75 charge to card you use for your ticket.
