2017 GRANT PARK SUMMER SHADE RECAP

On Saturday, August 26 and Sunday, August 27, 2017, the 15th annual Grant Park Summer Shade Festival welcomed thousands of music and art lovers to Atlanta’s oldest park for two days of nonstop fun. Presented by and benefiting the Grant Park Conservancy, the festival kicked off with the annual Adams Realtors Run for the Park 5K on Saturday morning and featured an impressive lineup of live music throughout the weekend on two stages, which included unforgettable performances from Ruby Velle & The Soulphonics, Blair Crimmins, Grant Green Jr., Michelle Malone, James Hall & The Steady Wicked, Front Porch Session Players, and the Matt Wauchope Trio. Always a favorite, guests sipped, shopped and strolled through the expansive artist market, enjoyed a larger than life Kids Zone and took advantage of the exclusive Beacon Atlanta VIP Lounge.  Open to all ages and free to attend, the 15th annual Summer Shade Festival also had a diverse selection of local food trucks with offerings for all tastes, and imbibing offerings including Monday Night Brewing craft beer, Bold Rock Cider, and Frida Kahlo Tequila and Status Vodka cocktails and more.

2017 OKTOBERFEST IN THE PARK

Saturday, September 30, 2017 at the Legacy Fountain in Piedmont Park 

 

Atlanta, Georgia  – On Saturday, September 30, 2017, partygoers can break out their dirndls and lederhosen for Park Tavern, A Social Mess, and Sierra Nevada’s Oktoberfest at the Legacy Fountain in Piedmont Park. Benefitting the Piedmont Park Conservancy, revelers can take their chances with a game of giant Jenga and enjoy friendly competition during games of corn hole, a beer keg toss, a beer mug stamina contest and a beer pong contest. Brew lovers are also invited to enjoy a range of ice-cold beers courtesy of Sierra Nevada. Not only will there be a costume contest for revelers in attendance, but four-legged friends are also welcome and encouraged to dress up for a chance to win a $300 gift certificate for best dressed dog.

 

Featuring live music and DJ performances throughout the day, Wasted Potential Brass Brand, known for its New Orleans standards, sarcastic pop, blues, funk and hip hop will get the crowd going before REMakes takes the stage followed by Yacht Rock Schooner performing spot-on renditions of Steely Dan, and Slippery When Wet ending the night with the ultimate Bon Jovi tribute. DJ Nakd will also be spinning top hits in between band performances. General admission tickets are available for $15 and will be $20 at the door. VIP tickets, which guarantee a seat and food, including roasted chicken, German potatoes salad and pumpernickel roll, are available for $35.
