Featuring a Full Day of Delicious Fun Including Live Music From The Dirty Guv’Nahs, Stop Light Observations and Little Stranger, Thousands of Pounds of Crawfish, Fresh Oysters, Cocktails and More!

Saturday, February 29, 2020 Beginning at 2 p.m.

For the past 17 years, thousands of music and food loving festival goers gather annually at Park Tavern in Piedmont Park to celebrate the Oyster Crawfish Festival. Offering a day of Mardi Gras inspired fun on Saturday, February 29, 2020, Park Tavern will once again serve up approximately ten thousand pounds of fresh Louisiana crawfish that are flown in the night before along with live music from the fiercely soulful band, The Dirty Guv’Nahs, an acclaimed six-piece brotherhood from Knoxville, TN known for their electrifying rock and roll performances.  Athens, GA-based Stop Light Observations and the quirky, indie hip-hop group, Little Stranger, will get the party started and warm up the stage as guests sip on signature cocktails and cold brews from a souvenir cup and dive into platters boasting 1.5 pounds of piping hot and perfectly spiced boiled crawfish served with new potatoes, corn and sausage.  Additional festival food offerings include Bluepoint and Gulf freshly shucked oysters on the half shell, buckets of steamed oysters with drawn butter, and a fried station with fried oysters, shrimp, and chicken baskets.

The Oyster Crawfish Festival begins at 2 p.m.  While the event is an ages 21 and up event, children ages 20 and under may be accompanied by a parent.  Children 12 and under do not need to purchase a ticket while young adults ages 12 and over can purchase an admission ticket for $10.  General Admission tickets are available beginning at $30 and include entry to the event and all day entertainment.  VIP tickets are available for $60 and grants access to entertainment, private bars, upscale seating, a lounge area with fireplaces, and access to premium indoor restrooms.  The event is rain or shine.  To purchase tickets visit www.parktavern.com.

National Grocer Invites Customers to Experience ‘A Little Italy’ With Unique Italian Products and Ingredients 

 

On Feb. 20, Whole Foods Market customers in New York, Los Angeles, Austin and Atlanta can indulge in an evening of Italian culinary discovery at intimate pop-up dinners co-hosted by the grocer’s cheese, wine and culinary experts alongside Italian cheesemakers and prosciutto suppliers. Each ‘A Little Italy’ event will feature an authentic, family-style meal composed of six courses, including Cacio e Pepe featuring Pecorino Romano with Parmigiano Reggiano grated tableside and Osso Buco served over creamy rosemary polenta.  

 

“Our dedicated team members travel throughout Italy to bring the finest traditionally-produced Italian items to Whole Foods Market stores, and we’re excited to offer these authentic products together on a dinner menu for one night only,” says Whole Foods Market Vice President of Specialty Cathy Strange. “We want our guests to feel like they’ve been invited for a meal in Nonna’s kitchen.” 

 

‘A Little Italy’ dinner guests will also enjoy curated wine and prosecco pairings to complement each of the six courses. At each dinner experience, American Cheese Society Certified Cheese Professionals will take on an 80-pound Parmigiano Reggiano wheel-cracking demonstration, all while explaining the craftsmanship that goes into producing the Northern Italian favorite. In addition, during the antipasti course, Italian suppliers will shave prosciutto on-site for sampling and pairing; during the dessert course, trained baristas will expertly pour Allegro Coffee using state of the art La Marzocco espresso machines.
