NETHERWORLD TAKES HAUNTED HOUSE FANS BEHIND THE SCENES WITH 2026 LIGHTS ON TOURS

Posted by Liz and John Attaway, 10/15/26

Limited-Capacity Afternoon Tours Run Oct. 15–30 + Nov. 6-7, Offering A Rare Daytime Look Inside the Attractions

Ever wondered what goes into building a world of nightmarish, immersive entertainment? NETHERWORLD Haunted House is inviting fans to flip on the lights and step behind the scenes with new Lights On Tours, beginning Thursday, Oct. 15. Available every afternoon through Oct. 30 plus Nov. 6-7, these guided tours offer an up-close look at the elaborate sets, original creatures, props, and special effects that bring NETHERWORLD’s two 2026 haunted attractions to life.

Led by a knowledgeable guide, guests will explore CURSE OF THE COLLECTOR and BEYOND OBLIVION: LEGACY OF EVIL with the lights on, discovering details and craftsmanship they might otherwise miss during a typical visit. Guides will share the stories, history, and creative work behind the attractions, from notable props and immersive environments to the special effects that help make NETHERWORLD a nationally recognized haunted attraction.

“We spend months dreaming up these worlds, building the sets, creating the creatures and figuring out how every detail will come together once the lights go down,” said Ben Armstrong, co-creator of NETHERWORLD Haunted House. “The Lights On Tours let fans see a whole different side of what we do. You can really appreciate the scale of these attractions and all the crazy details that go into them. And if you think the haunts look big at night, just wait until you realize the path through NETHERWORLD stretches about 10 football fields!”

Each tour lasts approximately 75 minutes, with afternoon start times at 2:30, 3, or 3:30 p.m., depending on the date. Tickets are $150 per person, and capacity is extremely limited. Guests may take photos at four designated locations inside the haunts; additional photography, video, and audio recording are not permitted.

MAKE A FULL DAY OF NETHERWORLD
Why stop at a behind-the-scenes look? With afternoon Lights On Tours followed by nighttime attractions, NETHERWORLD offers Halloween fans the opportunity to build a full day of spooky entertainment. Guests can plan an afternoon tour, take on one of five immersive escape rooms at Escape the NETHERWORLD, and return after dark to explore the Halloween Midway and experience the haunted attractions in full operation, complete with live performers, special effects, and all the scares.

NETHERWORLD’s two haunted attractions are open nightly through Nov. 1, with a final weekend Nov. 6–7, giving fans plenty of opportunities to experience CURSE OF THE COLLECTOR and BEYOND OBLIVION: LEGACY OF EVIL after their behind-the-scenes tour.

Lights On Tours are a separately ticketed experience and do not include admission to the nighttime haunted attractions, escape rooms, or other offerings. Each experience requires its own ticket.

PLAN YOUR VISIT
Lights On Tours run Oct. 15–30, plus Nov. 6-7, with limited afternoon availability. Tickets are $150 per person, and advance reservations are strongly encouraged.

Guests should book Lights On Tours through the Escape the NETHERWORLD website only. These tickets are not available through NETHERWORLD’s haunted house ticketing website.

MINECRAFT EXPERIENCE: VILLAGER RESCUE MAKES ITS SOUTHEAST DEBUT THIS FALL IN ATLANTA

Posted by Liz and John Attaway, 10/15/26

Mine, craft and battle through Minecraft Experience: Villager Rescue

Opening at Pullman Yards Friday, Nov. 20

Tickets go on sale Wednesday, Oct. 21 at 10 a.m. at MinecraftExperience.com

For the first time in the U.S. Southeast, the iconic world of Minecraft will come to life in an immersive, in-person experience designed for fans and first-time explorers alike. Created by Montreal-based multimedia creative studio Supply + Demand in close collaboration with Experience MOD and game developer Mojang Studios, the experience offers a one-of-a-kind opportunity to journey into the Overworld beyond the screen.

Minecraft Experience: Villager Rescue is set to open Friday, Nov. 20, for a limited time at Atlanta’s Pullman Yards. This epic experience invites longtime Minecrafters, new players of all ages and families to step into the world of Minecraft and become real-life heroes on a thrilling quest that combines advanced technology with the spirit of Minecraft adventure under one roof.

“Making our Southeast debut in Atlanta with Minecraft Experience: Villager Rescue is an exciting milestone as we continue expanding the tour across North America,” says Olivier Goulet, Founder and CEO of Supply + Demand and Co-Manager and Investor of Experience MOD. “In collaboration with Mojang Studios, we’ve created an experience that sits at the intersection of game design, immersive storytelling and advanced multimedia technology, transforming a beloved digital world into a real-life quest.”

As the best-selling game of all time, with more than 425 million copies sold worldwide, Minecraft has become a shared experience for players across generations—rooted in creativity, curiosity, and adventure. Now, with Minecraft Experience: Villager Rescue spawning in the Atlanta area, community members of all ages can step into an epic, story‑driven rescue mission, exploring iconic Minecraft biomes and encountering familiar mobs as the world is brought to life beyond the screen.

Although built with the spirit of the game at its core, Minecraft Experience: Villager Rescue is designed to welcome players and non-players alike and no prior knowledge of Minecraft is required to enjoy the experience.

During this action-packed quest and scavenger hunt, adventurers will enter the mission, journey through eight Minecraft realms and help rescue the village under siege from a zombie attack.

Along the way, they’ll collect resources and interact with iconic mobs – some more friendly than others. Minecrafters will be able to interact with pandas and dolphins as well as face skeletons, spiders and – of course – creepers. Armed with only their wit and an Orb of Interaction (a glowing interactive handheld device which guides each user through the experience), players and groups will embark on a journey in search of the resources needed to craft a life-saving potion. Upon completion, guests can celebrate their heroic feat with the purchase of a Minecraft memento at the Trading Post. In addition, players can claim a sought-after commemorative cape post-adventure as a reward for attending the experience.

Minecraft Experience: Villager Rescue will be open for a limited time at Pullman Yards, located at 225 Rogers Street NE in Atlanta. Tickets for Minecraft Experience: Villager Rescue will go on sale Wednesday, Oct. 21at 10 a.m. Tickets start at $32 and can be purchased at minecraftexperience.com. BEACH HOUSE HILTON HEAD ISLAND WITH ITINERARY

Posted by Liz and John Attaway, 10/8/26

Go beachfront at Beach House Hilton Head Island this fall! John and I recently took a weekender down to Hilton Head Island for a little relaxation and enjoyed the newly renovated and oceanfront Beach House right on the Atlantic Ocean! It is only 4.5 hours away from Atlanta, so it is perfect for a quick beach getaway or long weekend on top of a full vacation! The pool is gorgeous, the beachfront property perfectly manicured, and it has a ton of outdoor and dining amenities. Needless to say, the resort is all about being outdoors!

Speaking of the outdoor space, they boast a newly renovated and luxurious pool deck with large pool, private poolside cabanas, and rows of loungers surrounding this pool! And the best part is it is right in the beach, Coligny Beach. They have umbrella and chair rentals to enjoy a day in the sand and only steps from your room! Need a bike? They have rentals to get you around the island, as well.

Amenities also include three on-site dining options from the southern yet coastal, The Porch, located on the pool deck. They offer poolside and cabana dining. Tiki Hut, newly expanded tiki bar with handhelds and snacks while you listen to live music all day long in their beachfront stage. It was voted No 3 Tiki Bar in the U.S. By USA Today readers. They offer beach dining. And Sweet Al’s a daytime coffee and pastry shop great for the morning pick me up.

We also enjoyed the escape to our oceanfront room. Shiplap greets you as you enter and the entire room is nautical themed! Longitude and latitude on the walls, porthole mirror in the bathroom, ropes and ties, and baskets. The bed is comfy and the bathroom spacious and relaxing. But the best is the view from your balcony!

We put together an all-inclusive one-day itinerary for you to grab for your next trip.

☕️ 1. Start the day Sweet Al’s on property and grab a delicious coffee. I got an almond milk latte, but they have a wide variety of syrups and flavors. Then, John and I grabbed some donuts, chocolate frosted his favorite.
🏝️ 2. Have a beach morning. Go to the rental house and grab a pair of chairs and umbrellas and get into relaxation mode. There, take in the ocean breeze and the sound of the waves.
🛖 3. Tiki Hut is the perfect lunch spot. It has the beach views, and you can grab a drink, grub, and watch live music ALL DAY from the beachside stage. We got some chicken wings to share, and they were juicy and crunchy with sweet and savory teriyaki. They also have a bunch of rum concoctions for all those tiki drink lovers like me! They also are a great spot to catch the big game.
💦 4. Opt for a private cabana for a poolside afternoon. Located on the pool deck, these private cabanas come with large fan, private loungers, a couch, table, complimentary water and snacks for an all day experience. Take a dip whenever you like and work up an appetite to order from your private food and beverage person! I tried the Mahi Mahi with fruit! They also have a ton of breezy beach drink options.
🐠 5. Dinner is served at a the Porch Southern Kitchen. Just off the pool deck with inside outside bar and large patio! I got the Black and White Sesame encrusted seared tuna, a savory, crunchy bite on top of a fantastic cabbage/bok choy tossed in spicy wasabi vinaigrette and a warm citrusy ponzu for dipping. John got the roasted half chicken, a succulent chicken skin on with savory braised collards and creamy polenta mash. I paired my dinner with some Prosecco.
🎶 6. Catch live music back at the tiki hut until 10pm! It’s THE night spot on the property!

INDIE CRAFT EXPERIENCE RETURNS FOR ITS 21ST YEAR WITH 100+ INDEPENDENT MAKERS

Posted by Liz and John Attaway, 10/8/26

Atlanta’s Longest-Running Indie Craft Market Brings Two Days of Original Art, Handmade Goods, Creative Workshops and Local Food

to West Midtown Saturday, December 5 and Sunday, December 6

Atlanta’s holiday shopping season gets an independent streak when Indie Craft Experience takes over LOOP in West Midtown on Saturday, December 5, and Sunday, December 6. Now in its 21st year, Atlanta’s longest-running indie craft market will bring together more than 100 artists, makers, vintage curators and creative small businesses for two indoor days of original work, hands-on experiences, local food and one-of-a-kind finds.

The 2026 Winter Experience marks a new setting and a more focused chapter for the Atlanta institution. Owner and Creative Director Katrine Trantham, who took the helm during Indie Craft Experience’s 20th anniversary in 2025, has pared the annual calendar to two signature events, giving each market more room for selective curation, regional discovery and participatory programming.

“The holidays give us a chance to be more thoughtful about what we give and where it comes from,” says Trantham. “A handmade gift carries the story of the person who made it and the care of the person who chose it. Every purchase helps an artist keep creating. That connection is why Indie Craft Experience matters to me, and why I want a new generation of artists and shoppers to feel part of its future.”

The maker lineup crosses jewelry, ceramics, printmaking, illustration, fiber, leather, woodwork, fragrance, apothecary goods, vintage and small-batch food. Atlanta and regional names include 83M Jewelry, AJH Leather Designs, Blackbird Makers, Bromstad Printing Co., Curriculum Jewelry, Gummy Graveyard, Heather Greenway Jewelry, Jess Angelo Ceramics, Justin Ruff Candles, Little Bird Apothecary, Noosh! Studios, Othus Perfumery, People Eater, Stefani Threet Ceramics, Tuft Enough, Urbantu, Xocolatl Chocolate and dozens more. The mix places longtime Indie Craft Experience favorites alongside emerging makers, with originality and craftsmanship carrying more weight than trend or scale.

Beyond shopping, the weekend will offer plenty of ways for guests to get creative. The Tuftest Class in Town will introduce visitors to rug making, TopStitch will put guests at the sewing machine, and Atlanta Craft Club will host hands-on workshops. Chase Youth Programs will lead a creative stop for children, and Scraplanta, Indie Craft Experience’s official charity partner, will offer inventive gift wrapping in support of Atlanta’s sustainable art-supply resource. Seasonal cocktails, Charleston Coffee, Adari’s Shawarma, Speakcheesy and other local bites will also be on hand throughout the weekend.

The first 100 guests through the door each day will receive a complimentary tote featuring a design by local artist Emily Edison of Highwater Letterpress. A limited $20 VIP Weekend Ticket includes entry one hour before the public on Saturday at 10 a.m., admission throughout the weekend and an oversized tote designed and sewn by Blackbird Makers and hand-printed by Noosh! Studios.

The Winter Experience is also part of Handwork 2026, Craft in America’s nationwide initiative marking the United States semiquincentennial through exhibitions and programs recognizing handmade work and the craft traditions practiced across the country.

Indie Craft Winter Experience runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, December 5, and Sunday, December 6, at LOOP, 665 Marietta Street NW, Atlanta, Georgia 30313. VIP entry begins at 10 a.m. Saturday. General admission tickets are $5 in advance, and onsite parking is $5. Sunday’s Last Call from 3 to 5 p.m. offers pay-what-you-want admission. Tickets and the complete lineup are available at indiecraftexperience.com. Follow @indiecraftexperience on Instagram for artist announcements and event updates.
