About: On Sunday, May 7th, Break out your seersucker and big hats, because you’re invited to the 34th annual Derby Day on May 7 at Chastain Horse Park. Hosted by Shepherd Center’s Junior Committee, Derby Day brings the atmosphere of Churchill Downs to the heart of Buckhead. At Derby Day, you’ll enjoy live music by The Bama Gamblers, mint juleps, silent and live auctions, casino and lawn games, and a live broadcast of the most exciting two minutes in sports on multiple jumbotrons. All proceeds from the event benefit Shepherd Center’s Recreational Therapy program. This central part of the rehab process includes a wide range of activities such as music, the arts, and sports that aren’t covered by most insurance companies. Tickets to Atlanta’s biggest Kentucky Derby party are on sale now for $100. Every purchase includes entry to the event, buffet, and drinks. (About c/o derbyday.com)
