2018 KIRKWOOD WINE STROLL

The Wine Stroll is on Friday, September 21 7:00-10:00 pm and located in Historic Kirkwood in Street Festival style. There are 43 participating locations, each pouring a sample of red and white wines. The 84 wines selected for the Kirkwood Wine Stroll are styles featured from around the world. The passport you receive upon check-in at the event will provide space to record your favorite wines or take photos with your phone so that you will have a record of all of your favorite selections. Beyond wine, great live music by amazing local bands performing on 3 stages, that includes jazz, acoustic, and electric stages. Dining options include tapas type portions of small plates available for purchase through amazing local food vendors like Urban Pie, Kirkyard Public House, Dish Dive, Sun in My Belly, Poppa Corns: Gourmet Popcorn, Poor Hendrix and new this year- My Coffee Shop. There will also be non-alcoholic beverages, local craft beer selections from Eventide Brewing and Second Self Beer Company. Other businesses will also offer specials, discounts, prize drawings, and demonstrations. No wine stroll tickets are necessary to purchase food or beer. They can be purchased separately. Ticket prices $40 in advance, $50 the week of the event in advance and at the door.

FIRST ANNUAL ATLANTA MIMOSA FESTIVAL

The first annual Atlanta Mimosa Festival will be held at Atlantic Station on Saturday, September 29th and you don’t want to miss it! The event will be held from 1pm to 5 pm with advanced entry for VIP ticket holders at 12 pm. Beverages available include mimosas (with special orange juice flavors), Bellini’s, Bloody Mary’s, a selection of beer, wine, and cider. There will be live music and our favorite DJ Q-Tip. VIP tickets include all drinks, early entry at 12 pm, brunch bites in the VIP Tent, exclusive bars and restrooms. Bottomless Drinks tickets include all beverages; food will cost extra. General Admission tickets include entry only; food & drinks will cost extra. VIP tickets are $69 in advance and $79 after Sept 20th. No day-of event tickets will be available for VIP. Bottomless Drinks are $45 in advance, $50 after Sept 20th and $60 day-of. General Admission is $15 in advance, $20 after Sept 20th and $25 day-of.

An Unforgettable 26th Annual Jeffrey Fashion Cares

Arbiter of style, Jeffrey Kalinsky, creator of two namesake boutiques in Atlanta and Manhattan, celebrated 26 years of Jeffrey Fashion Cares Atlanta on Monday, August 27, 2018. The annual fashion forward and philanthropic event was once again hosted by Event Chairs Lila Hertz, Jeffrey McQuithy and Louise Sams. A sold-out evening, Atlanta’s most notable gathered in Phipps Plaza in the heart of Buckhead to enjoy a high-energy cocktail reception and silent auction followed by a live auction and runway show featuring Kalinsky’s style selections from high-end designers including Celine, Christian Dior, Givenchy, Calvin Klein, Dries Van Noten, Sacai, Saint Laurent Paris, Balenciaga, Christian Louboutin and Manolo Blahnik. Kalinsky is also set to open his first West Coast location in Palo Alto. The 26th anniversary of Jeffrey Fashion Cares benefitted Susan G. Komen Greater Atlanta, the Atlanta AIDS Fund (AAF), and the Medical University of South Carolina.

2ND ANNUAL OLD FOURTH WARD BEER FEST

The 2nd annual Old Fourth Ward Beer Fest will be held on Saturday, Sept 22nd from 1-5pm at the O4W Skate Park. The beer festival will be a fundraising event within the larger, annual Old Fourth Ward Fall Fest benefiting the Atlanta BeltLine Partnership. The event will feature a selection of beer and cider from breweries on or around the Beltline as well as a selection of wine. After the beer fest concludes, beer will be available for purchase during the remainder of the Fall Fest. There will be live music and food will be available for purchase; the beer list will be added to the website soon: Old 4th Ward Beer Fest. 2018 PARTY IN THE KITCHEN

It’s time to turn up the heat! Chef Chairs Kevin Rathbun and Gerry Klaskala, along with Co-Chairs Mary Williams and Nan Street, invite guests to Open Hand Atlanta’s 15th annual Party in the Kitchen benefit event, featuring exquisite cuisine by 19 of Atlanta’s most talented chefs. For the past 30 years, Open Hand has served the community by delivering meals to those living with nutrition-sensitive chronic disease, at-risk youth and families, and homebound seniors. After raising more than $750,000 last year, patrons will enjoy an evening of exceptional cuisine and master mixology on Thursday, September 27 at 7 p.m. at American Spirit Works, located at 199 Armour Drive in Atlanta.

CITY WINERY HOSTS A BARREL OF CHEFS

It’s no surprise that Atlanta’s restaurant community will step up when it comes to giving back. On Monday, September 24, 2018, notable personalities from an array of popular Atlanta restaurants will join forces at City Winery at Ponce City Market for a Barrel of Chefs, a dynamic evening filled with eating, drinking and giving back. Hosted by Executive Chef Nicholas Anderson of City Winery, the event will benefit Giving Kitchen and feature an unforgettable five-course dinner created by the combined talent of chefs: Hector Santiago of El Super Pan; Andre Gomez of Porch Light; George Brooks of Botiwalla; Brad Smallwood of The Mercury; Jonathan McDowell of Nine Mile Station; Andy Gonzales of Steinbeck’s Ale House; Woody Back of Table & Main; Chris Wilkins of Root Baking Co.; Arnaldo Castillo of Minero; Christian Perez of City Pharmacy; and Shay Lavi of Rozina Bake House and Coffee. Kicking off with a welcome reception at 6:30 p.m. and with dinner beginning at 7:30 p.m., the guided experience also includes a specialty craft beer and beer cocktail by Second Self Beer Company, hand-selected City Winery wines made by Atlanta’s only winemaker Travis Green, coffee by Dancing Goats Coffee, and much more.

Dragon Con 2018

Dragon Con, making Labor Day Atlanta’s favorite holiday since 1987, runs from Thursday, Aug. 30 to Monday, Sept. 3 with events and activities across five host hotels – Hyatt Regency Atlanta, Marriott Marquis, Hilton Atlanta, Westin Peachtree, and Sheraton Atlanta – and AmericasMart Buildings #1 and #2.Fans will travel from all 50 states and several foreign countries to meet their favorite actors, artists, authors, creators, and experts, show off their latest cosplay, make new friends, and revel in the joy that is Dragon Con. In addition to the guests and the fabulous cosplay, Dragon Con offers more than 140,000 square feet of gaming, making it one of the largest gaming conventions in the nation. From the latest video games to the most popular tabletop games, plus Japanese and classic American arcade games, ‘round the clock gaming is free to Dragon Con members starting Thursday, Aug. 30 at 4 p.m.

Local Brews Local Grooves 2018

Tabernacle is excited to welcome Local Brews Local Grooves to Atlanta! We will be joined by Outsiders Pizza, who will be providing free pizza for guests. We will be bringing in multiple local and craft breweries to offer tastings of their favorite selections throughout the night. Additional food and drink will also be available for purchase. Beer tastings and free pizza are subject to availability, while supplies last. In addition to local food & drink, we have a few of our favorite local artists performing live on stage all night long. Genres range from bluegrass and Americana to soul and funk. Participating breweries include Creature Comfort, Three Taverns, Red Hare, Arches, Second Self, New Realm, Urban Tree Cidery, Jekyll, Wild Leap, Gate City, Scofflaw, Ghost Coast Distillery, Monday Night, South Bound, Orpheus, ASW Distillery, Pontoon, and Wild Heaven. Appearances by Parker Gispert of The Whigs, The Quiet Hounds, Jacob and The Good People, Sonia Leigh Band, Project Iceworm, White Violet, Lady Legs, Dega, Kitty Snyder, The Wirelight, and Evan Stepp. Tickets are $25 for general admission in advance and $65 for VIP in advance.
