ATLANTA: Tickets for The Cheese Fest 2018 are officially on sale! The farmer’s market-style festival is in its sixth year. The annual event brings together small food producers from around the globe along with South-east consumers at one venue—Historic Fourth Ward Park. Atlanta was recently named one of the South’s best food cities by Southern Living, propelling culinary interest in our charming city. The Cheese Fest now attracts close to 3,000 attendees. The tremendous growth of the event has sparked the festival team to craft several new experiences and a larger-sized festival, overall. Annual nonprofit recipient, Giving Kitchen, will receive a portion of all proceeds from the event. Giving Kitchen is a nonprofit providing emergency assistance to restaurant workers through financial assistance and a network of community resources throughout 47 counties in Georgia.

 

The Cheese Fest will take place at Historic Fourth Ward Park, Friday, September 28, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Tickets are available at The Cheese Fest – $35 for general admission. A $65 VIP ticket includes admission to The Cheese Fest plus a waterfront pairing of your choice of wine, beer, or Champagne. Cash bars will be available throughout the festival to sell beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages. ATMs will also be on-site. General admission ticket includes entry into The Cheese Fest Atlanta, access to the Meltdown competition, and samplings from cheese producers from around the world. The first 500 attendees receive a special giveaway upon entering the festival.

 

As of June 25, festival experiences include; unlimited tastings from 100+ artisan cheese and specialty food vendors; marketplace goods available for purchase; waterfront seating for cheese pairing classes such as beer, wine and sparkling beverages; A Pig and A Pint, pairing charcuterie from Spotted Trotter with various beers; Olives Galore!, an educational class hosted by Divina, detailing the history, fermentation process and providing samples of numerous olives; the highly anticipated Meltdown competition, featuring popular, Atlanta chefs grilling it out for People’s Choice and Judges’ Choice awards; Cheesemaker Unplugged/Uncensored: Meet the Maker featuring the 2018 winner from American Cheese Society (ACS) Conference; and live music by singer-songwriter, Rachel Baiman.

2ND ANNUAL ATLANTA SUMMER WINE FEST

The second annual Atlanta Summer Wine Fest will be held on Saturday, August 11th at City Winery. There will be two sessions to choose from: 12-4pm or 6-10pm. We will have over 50 wines as well as a selection of beer and cider to choose from. There will be live music upstairs, DJ Q-tip downstairs, and City Winery will have food available for purchase. The wine list will be added to the website soon. Tickets are on sale now for $45 in advance and will increase on August 2nd to $50 and $60 at the door. Atlanta’s Only Urban Winery to Donate 10% of Proceeds Every Tuesday in July to the Atlanta BeltLine Partnership  

 

Beginning July 3, 2018 

Atlanta, Georgia – Conveniently located in the Old Fourth Ward in Ponce City Market, City Winery has joined forces with the Atlanta BeltLine Partnership and will be donating 10% of proceeds from the Barrel Room Restaurant and Wine Bar every Tuesday during lunch and dinner service through July to the dynamic organization’s ongoing program, Bites on the BeltLine.

Atlanta, Georgia – On Thursday, June 28, 2018 at 7 p.m., City Winery will host an Iconic Women Winemakers event celebrating women winemakers with tastings of six different wines crafted by some of the most talented women in the industry. Hosted by City Winery’s Assistant Winemaker, Faith Drew, certified Sommelier Briana Pope-Pettis, and Stephanie Northrup, guests are in for a delicious and educational evening that includes a special tasting of Faith Drew’s very own 2017 Stainless Steel Chardonnay, made on-site at City Winery Atlanta.  Drew will also unveil for the first time her new Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon.

 

“Winemaking has always been seen as a male-dominated industry, but really, women have been at the cutting edge of the art and science of winemaking since the beginning. We loved the idea of highlighting some of those women and their wines in a fun, educational setting,” says Drew.

 

The evening also includes a Q&A and mouthwatering, rustic pairings created by Chef Nick Anderson just for the occasion. As an added bonus, guests will also receive an exclusive offering of 10% off all wine bottles for that night only.

PASTIS CELEBRATES 20 YEARS OF SUCCESS WITH A WEEK OF NONSTOP FUN

Atlanta, Georgia – Located in Historic Roswell, PASTIS, a beloved neighborhood restaurant, bar and private event space, is celebrating 20 years of success with a week of nonstop fun, events, and surprises.  Owned by Carla Dent, the iconic restaurant is located on bustling Canton Street and is known for its casual French bistro fare, live music offerings, commitment to the community and love for its patrons and staff.  Kicking off Monday, June 25th and ending on Sunday, July 1st, PASTIS is hosting an array of activities including nightly live music, tastings, giveaways, food and drink specials, guest appearances, charity givebacks, and much more.  On Monday, June 25th at 12 p.m. PASTIS will also have a ribbon cutting ceremony with Roswell Mayor Lori Henry, Chief of Police Rusty Grant, and Fire Chief Ricky Burnette. Monday, June 25th – Join Roswell Mayor Lori Henry, Chief of Police Rusty Grant, Fire Chief Ricky Burnette, and PASTIS owner Carla Dent at 12 p.m. for a ribbon cutting ceremony commemorating 20 of years of success.  Before dinner, Fortec 4X4 of Roswell, an industry leader for Jeep modification and customization, will also be on hand for a Jeep demonstration and patrons can enjoy French Margaritas and SweetWater brews for just $4.  With the purchase of Stella Artois on draft for $4, imbibers will receive a free chalice.

 

Tuesday, June 26th – Wine not celebrate the 20th anniversary?  Not only will there be $9 bottomless glasses of William Hill Estate Winery Cabernet and Chardonnay wines with the purchase of an appetizer or entrée of equal lesser value, but beginning at 5:30 p.m., representatives from E. & J. Gallo Winery will be on hand to talk about wine trends with guests in addition to providing complimentary samples.  Musicians Nathan & Jason will perform from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

 

Wednesday, June 27th – Diners are invited to enjoy $4 New Amsterdam Vodka Mules (Regular/Citron/Pineapple/Orange) throughout the day and in the evening there will be live music beginning at 6 p.m. from multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Tim Ussery, giveaways and more.

 

Thursday, June 28th – Executive Chef Paul Williams of River Crest Country Club, the very first chef of PASTIS, will be kicking off his four-day guest appearance during a special Customer Appreciation night.  While he’s set to dazzle patrons for lunch and dinner during his visit, he will be serving dishes from the restaurant’s debut menu with original prices from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.  Live music with longtime singer and guitarist Steve Ward will take place from 6 to 9 p.m.  20% of proceeds will be donated to The Giving Kitchen.

 

Friday, June 29th  As a special thank you to the City of Roswell for its ongoing support, area residents and businesses are invited to join PASTIS for lunch between 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. and receive 25% off their meal by showing a business card or license with a Roswell zip code. PASTIS Favorite Guest Bartender Dr. Ron Redman will make an appearance behind the bar at 7 p.m. and Guest Chef Paul Williams will serve hungry patrons an array of culinary favorites from the past 20 years during lunch and dinner, while local musician Justin Borgman will entertain with another soul stirring performance beginning at 6 p.m. All day long, wine lovers can buy one glass of Frei Brothers Wine and receive the second glass for free.

 

Saturday, June 30th –  In honor of the 20th anniversary, revelers are invited to begin their evening during the Happiest of Hours boasting cocktail samplings, passed appetizers and more from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. Additionally, as PASTIS looks forward to the next 20 years, Guest Chef Paul Williams will reveal the new menu for diners to explore. Photographers will be on hand taking pictures and guests can enjoy live music by popular singer/songwriter Evan Koteles, giveaways and later the Atlanta Soul Band performs from 10 p.m. until 1 a.m.

 

Sunday, July 1st – What better way to end a week of 20th anniversary events (and the weekend) than with a Bloody Mary and Champagne Brunch? From 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., guests can nosh on mouthwatering brunch and lunch offerings while sipping on $12 endless mimosas or getting creative at the build-your-own Bloody Mary bar. Either after or before Brunch take a stroll to the local Ann Jackson or Vinings Gallery where you can enjoy a complimentary glass of PASTIS Cabernet, Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, or Merlot.  During the evening, diners can sink their teeth into the preview of items on the new dinner menu starting at 5:30 p.m. and take in a live jazz performance from Jabari Grover Trio from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

 

THE SECOND WAITERS’ RACE ATLANTA 2018

The Industry Fund, Le Bilboquet Atlanta and The Shops Buckhead Atlanta host the second Waiters’ Race Atlanta on July 15, 2018 at 5:00 pm at The Shops Buckhead Atlanta, complete with a summer block party and center-wide attractions from 3:00-7:00 pm.

 

The Waiters’ Race Atlanta offers a Southern version of the more than 100-year-old Parisian tradition. Participants will navigate through various obstacles with a loaded server’s tray in one hand. After finishing the route, competing waiters and waitresses will be challenged to open and pour a perfect glass of champagne.

 

Contestants will be evaluated on speed, service and style by a group of well-known judges including:

  • Food and Wine, Carolyn O’Neil
  • iHeartRadio, Dana Barrett
  • Atlanta & Company, Nyssa Green
  • Atlanta Magazine, Christiane Lauterbach

This year’s event will continue to celebrate the excellence, dedication and discipline of the more than 230,000 food preparers and servers who work in the metro Atlanta restaurant industry and benefit The Giving Kitchen (TGK).

 

The winner of the race will receive a round-trip ticket to Paris for two and a traveling trophy to be housed in their restaurant for the next 12 months.

 

Before and after the race, The Shops Buckhead Atlanta will host a complimentary summer block party at Center Plaza that will include live entertainment, outdoor cocktail bars, food tasting stations, a flower cart, children’s games and a bocce court. In addition, The Shops Buckhead Atlanta retailers will be offering exclusive experiences, amenities and promotions during the event.

DIESEL FILLING STATION CELEBRATES A DECADE

All-Day Extravaganza Featuring Diesel Hall of Shame Guest Bartenders, DJ, Food and Drink Specials, Patio Drinking Games and More! 

Festivities Begin on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 12 p.m.

 

Atlanta, Georgia – Celebrating 10 years of success, the crew at Diesel Filling Station will be hosting an all-day extravaganza featuring frosty brews, delicious eats, drink specials, music and more on Saturday, June 16, 2018.  The shenanigans kick off at noon and guests are invited to take advantage of $10 beer and shot specials – Jameson or Fireball shots paired with a choice of Monday Night Brewing draft beer, $10 PBR pitchers, and a $10 make-your-own Bloody Mary bar, which will be a weekly fixture every Sunday from 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the coveted dive bar. The veritable Who’s Who of Diesel bartenders throughout its 10 year history will be on hand beginning at noon and rotating every hour, slinging drinks and trading barbs with regulars and guests alike as they donate their tips to The Giving Kitchen.

 

Knowing that man (and woman) cannot live off of booze alone, food specials will be offered throughout the day by pop-up kitchen partner Heady Pies that will be creating a specialty $10 pizza just for the anniversary, The Death Pie, an ode to the Death Muffin with a fresh butter base, chopped bacon, sage sausage, a cheddar and mozzarella blend, fried eggs, maple syrup swirl and an optional blackberry drizzle. For burger fans, The Diesel Burger, a beef patty with bacon, an onion ring, cheddar and BBQ on challah bun will also be available. Additionally, Heady Pies will be helping to launch Diesel’s new brunch menu featuring The Hangover breakfast pizza, The Eleven, French toast style Eggo waffles and fried chicken, Skip’s Scramble egg dish and Post-Coital Carbonara spaghetti with guanciale, parmesan and a cream sauce. Heady Pies is also fueling the Diesel Bloody Mary bar, which pops up during brunch and will feature: cheese pizza, Slim Jim’s, dill pickles, gherkin pickles, pepperoni, prosciutto, horseradish, heirloom cherry tomatoes, au jus, XXX hot sauce and pickled asparagus.

URBAN TREE CIDER ROSE ALL DAY PARTY 2018

Atlanta’s first craft cidery UrbanTree is celebrating the debut of their new Rosé cider with a special “Rosé All Day” Party on Sunday, July 8th from 12:30-6:30 pm. In addition to the party, UrbanTree has also announced that from now through the end of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, ten percent of profits from sales of the 12oz and 750mL bottles of their pink, sparkling Rosé cider will be donated to Susan G. Komen Greater Atlanta.

 

During the event, the cidery will be serving creative cocktail takes on their Rosé cider with boozy beverages including a “B’Rosé” made with Moonrise Rye Whiskey, a “Glowsé” made with gin from Old Fourth Distillery and a frozen “F’Rosé” made with 229 Vodka. Guests can also enjoy bites from Southern Peach Pastries and Propósito Taco Truck.

 

UrbanTree’s Rosé cider offers a delicately crafted balance of hand picked Georgia Estate Apples, rose botanicals and gentle carbonation. The seasonal release is available at bars, restaurants and shops around Georgia, as well as at Urban Tree’s tasting room in Atlanta’s Westside neighborhood (1465 Howell Mill Rd NW). Arriving just in time for warmer weather, guests can enjoy the Rosé cider and a rotating selection of cider specials on draft on the cidery’s outdoor patio.
