Sunset Session Finale at Park Tavern with The Joy Formidable – How do you close out Atlanta’s best free concert series in years? Book The Joy Formidable and send a message to the rest of the country- sometimes the old adage “you get what you pay for,” just doesn’t mean sh#t. Creating national buzz off of 2011’s The Big Roar and 2013’s Wolf’s Law, this will probably be the last chance you ever get to see this band in this intimate of a setting, for nothing. Be one of those kids that can say “I was there!”

Atlanta, Georgia  – Sunset Sessions has announced The Joy Formidable as the finale headliner for the new, weekly alternative music series at Park Tavern in Piedmont Park. Coming off of two well received studio albums- 2011’s The Big Roar and 2013’s Wolf’s Law, the Welsh trio will be using its hook laded guitar-pop to help close out Atlanta’s most successful free concert series to date. Beginning with Bad Suns this past April, Radio 105.7 and Park Tavern have presented Atlantans and visitors alike with an incredible lineup of live music from some of today’s most buzz-worthy artists each Sunday. Sunset Sessions is held under the spacious, air conditioned Garden Tent, which boasts Piedmont Park and the Midtown Skyline as its backdrop. The free concert series, booked by The Bowery Presents South, will run through Sunday, September 6, 2015; every show is from 7 to 11 p.m. and guests must be 21+ older to attend. For more information, visit www.parktavern.com.

Located conveniently off of the Atlanta BeltLine, concert goers can enjoy giveaways throughout the concert series, the chance to mingle with Aly, Knox, and Sully from Radio 105.7 Atlanta, specialty seasonal cocktails, house-brews, 1/2 price wine bottles every Wednesday, 1/2 off sushi from 10 p.m. to midnight, and much more. The final month of confirmed headliners for Sunset Sessions include:  Blair Crimmins and the Hookers (8/2); T Hardy Morris, Roadkill Ghost Choir (8/9); The Features (8/16); Kishi Bashi (8/23); Lindi Ortega (8/30) and The Joy Formidable (9/6). Additional supporting artists will be announced in the coming weeks.
