All November-long, Second Self is fundraising for Movember, the movement that’s changing the face of men’s health. They’ve started a team here to help raise money and awareness this month for prostate cancer and testicular cancer.
At the end of the campaign, on Thursday, Dec. 1st from 6 to 9pm, Second Self will host a Movember Party in their taproom. Guests can show off their ‘stache and enjoy Second Self’s latest brews. They will also have a costume contest, food truck, games, prizes, music, and more! Tickets are available here for $20 and include 6 samples of beer and a souvenir glass.
A portion of the event’s proceeds will be donated to The Movember Foundation, which runs awareness and fundraising activities year-round to raise money and get men to take action for their health.
Co-Founders Jason Santamaria and Chris Doyle started Second Self as a home brewing experiment a decade ago and released their highly acclaimed beers to the public in fall 2014. The two met in college at Georgia Tech and bonded over a shared passion for good beer. Chris went on to work at Atlanta’s Sweetwater Brewery and earned his certificate from the American Brewers Guild Craft Brewers Apprenticeship program. Jason has a background in food and business. Second Self’s beers are brewed with fresh ingredients like blue ginger and lemongrass (never dried ingredients or extracts), and each brew is designed to be paired with food. Second Self recently opened an expanded taproom at their Westside brewery.
