Enjoy Fourth of July celebrations, live music, shopping events and more

July is finally here, which means summer is in full swing at The Works. With various opportunities to hear live music, exclusive specials, trivia, markets, kid and pet-friendly activities and more, there are so many different ways to cool off in July at the Upper Westside’s largest mixed-use gathering destination. Start the month with a bang at Your 3rd Spot for a Fourth of July celebration all week long. Jazz into July as the Thursday Night Live Music Series hosted by Chicheria Mexican Kitchen and Taste Wine Bar kicks off its weekly series on the spur. Start the week off with a bang on July 1 as Your 3rd Spot honors all the hardworking hospitality heroes with a special Industry Independence Day, including $4 entry, $4 bowling games and $4 sliders. Atlantic Station to Host the Atlanta Open, Throwback Thursdays with Star 94.1 FM and More!


As July heats up and the days grow longer, Atlantic Station brings a sun-soaked lineup of events to embrace the summer season. The Atlanta Open returns to Atlantic Station for the final time, empowering fitness classes to take on the Atlantic Green and ‘80s cover bands rock out with Throwback Thursdays. There is no shortage of entertainment in the Heart of Atlanta this July.

The Atlanta Open returns to Atlantic Station’s Pinnacle Lot for the final time. Kicking off the excitement, former World No. 1 in singles and doubles Venus Williams will compete against the 2017 U.S. Open champion Sloane Stephens in the Sunday Showdown on July 21. Other action-packed matchups feature players such as six-time Atlanta Open champ John Isner and Andy Roddick versus the Bryan Brothers. The Yoga Series continues this summer to help yogis end their Mondays stress-free at an outdoor yoga class presented by Kaiser Permanente. As part of the Wellness Series at The Battery Atlanta, this free event is open to all ages to relax and unwind on the Plaza Green. Taste of Truist Park and The Battery Atlanta Food Tours
Thursday, July 18 and 25 at 12:30 p.m.
The Atlanta Braves and The Battery Atlanta continue to host the Taste of Truist Park and The Battery Atlanta Food Tours as an extension of the current Truist Park tour program. The tour kicks off with a Terrapin beer and soft pretzel in the exclusive Truist Park Press Box, followed by a trip to the Atlanta Braves dugout to sample Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q. Continuing into The Battery Atlanta, participants will enjoy stops at ASW Distillery, Mac McGee’s Irish Pub and El Super Pan, ending with a classic Southern treat at River Street Sweets. Science Made FUN with High Touch High Tech

Kids are invited to become scientists while degreed professionals lead them through this totally hands-on space exploration program. Teddy Bear Clinic, Accompanied by Health Place

Wellstar Health System invites kids to bring their Teddy Bear or other plush friend to the Teddy Bear Clinic on the Plaza Green on National Teddy Bear Picnic Day. The plush patients will receive a healthcare check-up, X-ray, bandages, and instructions on how to stay healthy. The Teddy Bear clinic promotes healthy habits while allowing children the opportunity to become familiar with what it’s like to visit a healthcare professional in a fun and developmentally appropriate setting.   Other fun interactive stations will be offered as well to include fitness, coloring, and a special guest appearance by Dr. WellBee.  Siblings are welcome, too. Kidokinetics
Thursday, July 11 and 18; 10 a.m. – Noon
​Kids of all ages are invited to an engaging sports fitness program with Kidokinetics! Following a group warmup, kidos are split by age groups for (3) 15-minute sessions learning unique sports like pickleball, scoops and many more. The basic concepts of a variety of sports will be introduced in a safe, non-competitive environment ensuring children of every level or ability are learning values such as teamwork, sportsmanship and self-confidence. Challenge Island: Rocket Building

Rosé all day in the name of freedom this Fourth of July, literally! This year, Buckhead Village will be celebrating the 55th Peachtree Road Race by serving as an official “cheer station” for the spirited July Fourth run! Wild Heaven Beer Launches Sunday Brunch Fourth of July Weekend
Fireworks aren’t the only things getting lit this Fourth of July. Wild Heaven Beer s kicking off celebrations early, Sunday, June 3rd with the launch of their new Sunday brunch at the West End location. The Roof will be hosting their annual Fourth of July party, sponsored by Beam Suntory, from 11am-midnight on Saturday, July 2. Mon., July 4 – Celebrate the Fourth of July at H+H!

The community bar and restaurant welcomes those in town to gather and celebrate over drink specials, like a $5 LiberTea cocktail with bourbon, black tea, lemonade, basil & honey and $2 Budweiser American flag cans.

Carson Kitchen is open regular hours over the Fourth of July weekend. This Alpharetta staple features reimagined comfort food with a fine-dining twist to connect with family and friends. The Halcyon location of HOBNOB Neighborhood Tavern gets the festivities going with a Fourth of July party from 3-10 p.m., featuring live bands, a patio bar with lots of beers and whiskeys and a cornhole area. This event is rain or shine. RSVP online for free entry. All other HOBNOB locations—Brookhaven, Dunwoody and Atlantic Station— will be open regular hours on July 4.

Johnny’s Hideaway, Atlanta’s nightclub for big kids, is open late on Sunday, July 3. The iconic Atlanta nightclub will host trivia on Monday, July 4 starting at 7:30 p.m.

Marlow’s Tavern features its Red, White and Blue burger topped with bleu cheese, caramelized onions and red peppers on a toasted sesame bun and served with Freedom fries. The special burger is only available on Monday, July 4. For steak lovers, Milton’s Cuisine & Cocktails is featuring half-priced filets on July 4.

Sankranti will be open with regular hours over the Fourth of July weekend. DOWNTOWN WOODSTOCK RESTAURANTS CELEBRATE INDEPENDENCE DAY WITH STAR SPANGLED PUB CRAWL

Downtown Woodstock

Saturday, July 3rd at 2 pm

The Star Spangled Pub Crawl will take place in Downtown Woodstock on Saturday, July 3rd from 2 to 6 pm. Crawl-goers will enjoy festive food and beverage specials as they visit the participating bars and restaurants.

 

Participants include Copper Coin, The Daily Draft, Eden, Kai (formerly ICE Martini Bar), Madlife Grill, Pure Taqueria, Prime 120, Reel Seafood, Reformation Brewery, Rootstock, and Truck and Tap. Musicians will perform at select locations on a staggered schedule during the event.

 

When a crawl participant arrives at their first restaurant on the crawl, they will be given a stamp card. For each restaurant visited, they will receive a stamp on their card. Once they have received five stamps, they may turn in their card to any participating restaurant to be entered to win prizes.

 

Winners will be drawn from the entries and announced on Visit Woodstock GA social media in a live event on Tuesday, July 6th. Prizes include gift cards to participating restaurants. The grand prize is a Downtown Woodstock prize pack that includes a Downtown Dollars gift certificate.

 

Highlights from the featured food and beverage specials include Prime 120’s Happy Hour Smashburger (two beef patties topped with American cheese, caramelized onions, secret sauce, and shaved lettuce) with fries, Kai’s Star Spangled Beer & Boil, and the Bomb Pop Vodka Lemonade at The Daily Draft.
