DRY JANUARY INSPO 2026

Posted by Liz and John Attaway, 12/22/25

Looking for dry or alternative alcohol options this new year? We got you.

No Pour Decisions at Vesper This Dry January

Long before Dry January became shorthand for sober curiosity, Vesper was already shaping what a night out without alcohol could look like. As one of Atlanta’s early leaders in non-alcoholic cocktail culture, the Glenwood Park favorite approaches zero-proof drinks with the same care and creativity as its classic cocktails, from the Not So Stormy to a velvety alcohol-free Old Fashioned and a spirit-free Mai Tai made with Ritual Zero-Proof Rum. Paired with shareable American tapas like Parmesan Truffle Tots, Chips with Queso or Guacamole, and Birria Melts, the experience feels intentional rather than restrictive, proving that a spirited evening doesn’t actually require spirits. Located along the Atlanta BeltLine in Glenwood Park, Vesper is at 924 Garrett St. Suite D, Atlanta, GA 30316. For more information, visit www.vesperatl.com and follow along on Instagram at @vesperatl.

Forza Storico Showcases Standout Sober Sips

Toasting without the tipple has never been easier than at Forza Storico this Dry January. Tucked just off the train tracks with an expansive patio and an always-inviting spirit, Forza Storico brings Roman cuisine and culture to the heart of West Midtown. Known for pairing each plate with a dynamic pour, the restaurant’s spirit-free lineup makes Dry January sipping a total no-brainer. Guests can enjoy handcrafted sips minus the hangover, from the coconut-forward Perdigiorno and zesty Pineapple Fizz to the passionfruit-infused Niente Spritz, crisp Lapo’s Spritz, and bold Zero Proof Negroni. And for those who believe wine and pasta to be the ultimate winter pairing, Forza Storico also offers nearly zero-proof pours of Misty Cliff’s Prosecco, Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot that never feel lacking. Forza Storico is located at 1198 Howell Mill Road, Atlanta, GA 30318. For more information or reservations, visit forzastorico.com. Follow along on Instagram and Facebook at @forzastorico.

Dry January, Done Differently with The Georgia Hemp Company
Dry January doesn’t have to be all or nothing, and at The Georgia Hemp Company, it’s less about cutting things out and more about choosing what fits. Inside its shops, the focus is on flexibility and flavor, whether that means stocking the bar cart with elevated mixers, exploring alcohol-free alternatives for a night out, or discovering hemp-derived drinks that offer a different kind of unwind. The lineup includes THC- and CBD-infused beverages from Nine Dot, BlueRoo, Plift, The Hat Club, Nowadays, Flora, Cann, and more, all curated for people who want options without sacrificing experience. TIO LUCHO’S HOSTS A ONE-NIGHT NOCHE BUENA HOLIDAY CELEBRATION

Posted by Liz and John Attaway, 12/4/25

An Evening of Peruvian Tradition, Seasonal Cooking, and a Late-Night Holiday Party on December 20

Tio Lucho’s is marking Saturday, December 20, with a one-night holiday celebration centered around good food, music, and the welcoming, come-as-you-are spirit that defines the restaurant. The evening begins at 4 p.m. with the full dinner menu and a few seasonal cocktails, giving guests the option to make it their holiday dinner, meet friends early, or ease into a night that carries into the late hours.

At 10 p.m., the room shifts. The lights dip, the DJ steps in, and Tio’s becomes a late-night holiday gathering with a limited menu, Christmas movies on the screens, and surprise touches from Hornitos Tequila and Maker’s Mark that keep things loose and lively. Guests are free to drop in for one part of the night or stay for the whole thing.

The celebration draws from Noche Buena, the Peruvian and Latin tradition at the center of Chef Arnaldo Castillo’s childhood. “Noche Buena is how I grew up celebrating the holidays. Families come together late, nobody rushes dinner, and midnight is when things really get going. That’s the feeling I want people to experience here,” says Castillo.

Dinner reservations are encouraged; late-night entry is first-come, first-served. Details and booking are available at tioluchos.com. Tio Lucho’s is located at 675 N. Highland Ave. NE, Atlanta, GA 30306. Follow @tioluchos on Instagram and Facebook.

COMING TO ATLANTA AT THE EASTERN ON DEC 9 – PORTUGAL. THE MAN!

Posted by Liz and John Attaway, 12/1/25

To celebrate their 10th studio album, they’ll be hitting the road! They’ll play on Dec 9th at The Eastern.

SHISH finds Portugal. The Man on the edge of discovery – pulling the curtain back further. Across its ten distinct tracks, the band leans into discomfort, vulnerability, and the warped pop sensibility that only Portugal. The Man can offer. SHISH represents a period of intense reappraisals for Gourley, both in music and in life and it combines Gourley’s most revealing writing yet, not only about the lessons he learned being raised in Alaska, but also some of the lessons he’s already learned raising his daughter, Frances, who was diagnosed with one of the world’s rarest genetic disorders four years ago.

These personal tales and philosophies mirror a broader sense of musical freedom than Portugal. The Man has ever before embraced, in spite of how wide-ranging their music has always been.

The band’s released some great teases of the record so far with their tracks: “Angoon,” “Denali”, “Tanana,” and “Mush.”

Praise for Portugal. the Man:

“Shish, the most explicitly Alaskan record Gourley has written, because he felt he owed it to Alaska and he owed it to himself.” – SPIN

“Shish’s early singles hint at a certain propulsiveness to the structures of these songs, even if Gurley’s falsetto, surfy guitars, and bubblegum psych-pop aesthetic tend to bring MGMT’s Congratulations to mind.” – FLOOD

“Tanana” finds the band in hazy psych-pop mode, while “Mush” is a little more rocking and propulsive.” – Brooklyn Vegan

“Portugal. The Man, whose 2017 smash “Feel It Still” has been stuck in your head no fewer than six times, have announced their forthcoming album, “SHISH,” with these two new songs. “Tanana” — a city in Alaska, the band’s birth state — evokes a woozy psych-rock freefall, countered by the skittering alt-rock anxiety of “Mush.”  – Boston Globe

“SHISH is yet another awe-inspiring effort from Gourley and his Portugal. The Man project turned out to be some of the most honest, refreshing music the artist has added to his discography in some time. These ten songs pinpoint the exact time and space Gourley is currently in, and turn his point of view into relatable slices of daring, artistic indie rock.” Glide Magazine

“SHISH saw Gourley scale-back from the limitless world to a tightened circle. It became a call back to the band’s Alaskan origins and upbringing, adopting a mentality of taking only what you need rather than everything at your fingertips. Through SHISH, Portugal. The Man invites listeners into their home, proudly representing the community they came from.” Luna Collective

“The Grammy-winning indie-rock mainstays’ next project shows them braving fearsome new sonic possibilities and drawing inspiration from their origins in Alaska” – Relix

“A pretty eclectic mix of music that hops extravagantly from foot to foot” – 13th Floor

Rest of the tour:

Dec 2 – Brooklyn, NY – Music Hall of Williamsburg (The Lords of Portland Present Portugal. The Man)

Dec 3 – New York, NY – Terminal 5
Dec 4 – Philadelphia, PA – Union Transfer
Dec 5 – Washington, DC – The Anthem
Dec 7 – Pelham, TN – The Caverns
