Attention art enthusiasts and philanthropists! 

We are thrilled to announce an extraordinary art show that combines creativity, community, and a noble cause. Join us for an unforgettable evening filled with stunning artwork, live painting, delectable food, and a mission to find a kidney donor. 

This art show is a celebration of talent featuring over 20 incredible artists from various backgrounds and styles. From mesmerizing paintings to breathtaking photography, this event promises to ignite your imagination and leave you inspired. 

Adding to the excitement, we have invited two talented live painters who will create masterpieces right before your eyes. Witness their artistic process unfold in real-time, as they transform blank canvases into stunning works of art. 

But, this event is not just about art; it’s about making a difference in someone’s live. We are working to raise awareness for an individual, Vy Tran, as he is in his late stages of kidney failure and is in desperate need of a hero donor. 

About Vy Tran: 

Just before the pandemic hit, I was diagnosed with end stage renal disease, essentially my kidneys stopped working. I’ve been on dialysis for the past 3 years or so and am currently on the transplant list (which can take years to find a donor). It’s been a very rough road till this point and a lot of it has to do with the physical and mental changes that come with all of this. But as of right now, I am in a good place and I am pushing forward as best I can. 

On the bright side, my transplant surgeon says I’m a good candidate for a donor kidney but no amount of surgery will change my personality. 

In addition to the mission, we are also giving back to the community and to the artists. As the holidays are closely approaching, booth space was provided free of charge to the artists allowing them to showcase their work with no overhead. As a gift to the community, food will be provided to attendees at no charge by Ruchi Bangladeshi during the duration of the show (while supplies last-food arrives at ~2:30pm) .

Stretch that weekend feeling with a yoga class at Distillery of Modern Art, an amalgamation of a distillery, gallery, event space, covered patio, and cocktail lounge that is located in the heart of Chamblee. On Sunday, September 17th beginning at 11 a.m., Cherri McCallister, owner of breathe.yoga studio will host a traditional yoga class welcoming all skill levels at the beautiful, art-filled space. Sip & Scent Candle-Making Class— Sunday, September 17, 2023 at 2:30 p.mIt’s back-to-school season, so there’s no better time to learn the art of candle-making at Distillery of Modern Art during its Sip & Scent class on on Sunday, September 17, 2023. Beginning at 2:30 p.m., class goers will be greeted with a cocktail from the award-winning distillery, cocktail lounge, and gallery before a seasoned instructor leads an interactive, educational and fun experience. Participants will explore different waxes, wicks, candle care and pouring along with choosing fragrances and essential oils to create a one-of-a-kind soy and coconut wax candle in a highball glass. From Grain to Glass: An In-Depth Distiller’s Tour—Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 3 p.m.Experience the captivating allure of spirits that leave everyone craving more at Distillery of Modern Art’s exclusive Disiller’s Tour. On Saturday, September 23, 2023, Distillery of Modern Art, a local art gallery and cocktail lounge, invites guests to join in on a comprehensive journey through the art of distillation, guided by head distiller Matt Grief. Starting at 3 p.m., Grief will share his extensive knowledge on the technical side of distilling and the ‘hows’ and ‘whys’ of each choice along the way that ensure the creation of a perfect spirit. Beginning and ending with a Distillery of Modern Art cocktail, the tour includes 8 tastings of both finished and unfinished spirits as well as charcuterie from the beloved Spotted Trotter. Distillery of Modern Art Hosts Burlesque Basics—Sunday, September 24, 2023 at 2 p.m.Try a hand at burlesque with Burlesque Basics at Distillery of Modern Art on Sunday, September 24 beginning at 2 p.m. Critically celebrated and award-winning teachers from The Atlanta School of Burlesque will start by walking burlesque beginners through the history of the sensual dance style. Welcoming all skill levels, Zara Estelle will teach fundamental Burlesque movements and walks, resulting in a short routine. Dance enthusiasts who have built up an appetite learning new skills can indulge in a savory charcuterie from The Spotted Trotter and sip on the latest summer cocktails from Distillery of Modern Art. Cocktails & Conversation Returns with Focus on Employment Inclusion— Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at 6 p.m.

Distillery of Modern Art, a fusion of a distillery, gallery, event space and cocktail lounge, is set to host its next thought-provoking discussion in its Cocktails & Conversation series, focusing on Employment Inclusion on Wednesday, September 27. Beginning at 6 p.m., attendees are invited to enjoy craft cocktails and engage in a lively discussion with the founders of the Kyle Pease Foundation, Chief Executive Officer Kyle Pease and Executive Director Brent Pease, as they delve into the topic of improving support for disabled and minority communities in the professional sphere. The Kyle Pease Foundation is known for its work in raising awareness and funds to promote success for persons with disabilities through sports and competition. Adding depth to the conversation, Kristina Echols, Strategy Consultant in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion for Accenture, will share her experience in creating and maintaining inclusive workspaces. Distillery Of Modern Art Hosts Intro to Calligraphy Class – Thursday, June 15th at 6:30 p.m. 

Find a new favorite hobby at Distillery of Modern Art, a unique gallery supporting local artists and installations combined with a cocktail lounge and event space, with a Beginner’s Calligraphy class. On Thursday, June 15th at 6:30 p.m., join professional calligrapher Arielle Basha for a workshop perfect for beginners and leave with knowledge of handwriting principles such as materials usage, building letters in modern styles, and writing words in calligraphy. Meet DoMA’s Mural Artists During a Cocktail and Art Infused Evening

Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at 7 p.m. 

 Distillery of Modern Art is hosting another round of Cocktails & Conversation on Wednesday, April 26, 2023. Beginning at 7 p.m., guests are invited to mix, mingle, and learn about the murals that are peppered throughout the art-infused distillery, gallery and cocktail lounge. Artists Lela Brunet, Armando Chacon, Courtney Hicks, and Chris Alvarez will be on hand to discuss the inspiration and meaning behind their murals, their bodies of work, background and more. Guests are also invited to view artist Jen Boaz’s The Art of Cocktails collaboration in the lounge, a stunning installation inspired by the new spring cocktail menu centered around seasonality and transformation. Stand-Up Comedy Show Serving Up Laughs, Cocktails, Art and More

– As we enter in to a new year, Distillery of Modern Art continues its Top Shelf Comedy series, a monthly stand-up show featuring the best of Atlanta’s comedians. On Thursday, January 19th from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m, host Amy Brown and comedians Amanda Marks, Carlette Jennings and Paul Ollinger will deliver a healthy serving of non stop laughs. Seating is first come, first served, so guests are encouraged to arrive early to grab a craft cocktail and mingle with fellow comedy lovers. VALENTINE’S DAY CALLIGRAPHY CLASS

Make this Valentine’s Day extra special and gift a hand written love letter. Come alone to learn how to write a letter in modern calligraphy or bring your lover with you as a cute Valentine’s Day activity.

In this class, you’ll learn the basic process of building letters in modern styles with guides, worksheets, and instruction. You’ll also receive a beginner kit of calligraphy materials including a pen holder, nibs, ink, and of course paper. During the last portion of class I’ll walk you through creating a layout for your letter and how to apply the skills you learned to a final piece.

No prior calligraphy experience is necessary. We’ll be covering how to use the materials as well as how to build letters, write words, and layout a final piece of calligraphy.

A One-Night Only Immersive Theater Experience Featuring Cocktails, Bites, and More 

Thursday, December 22, 2022 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. 


Distillery of Modern Art, an amalgamation of distillery, gallery, event space and cocktail lounge, presents The Golem: Storms of the South, an immersive theater experience on Thursday, December 22, 2022 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. For one evening only, guests can take a journey into a 19th-century New York marketplace where Jewish immigrants are busy selling their wares on the last day of Hanukkah. Incredible real-life stories will be revealed of how they escaped the Storms of the South, ten years of persecution in Western Russia, and discovered freedom upon reaching American, but brought with them something they could never have imagined – tormented and tortured ghosts of the villagers’ past. The audience will then join Rabbi Bezalel as he summons up a Golem, a Frankenstein-like creature, to rid the village of its demons, but nothing goes as planned. 

“The Golem: Storms of the South is essentially a story of love and forgiveness. In order to move forward from dark times in their life, the villagers must forgive themselves, and their past,” says creator Louis Kyper of The Immersive Theatre Ensemble. “They must then let the light of love guide their way forward. No amount of artificially conjured technologies will help them understand that. It’s a simple story, but one worth telling.” 

In addition to the intimate show, guests are also invited to sip on Distillery of Modern Arts’ signature cocktails and enjoy appetizers from The General Muir, a modern American restaurant inspired by the classic New York Jewish Deli. General Admission tickets are $75 per person and include one drink ticket, post-show appetizers, and a custom Golem rocks glass. Enjoy cocktails and comedy at Distillery of Modern Art during Top Shelf Comedy, a new monthly stand-up show featuring the best of Atlanta’s comedians on Thursday, October 20th from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. For the premiere event, headliner Nathan Owens, host Amy Brown and comedian Amanda Marks will serve up a healthy serving of nonstop laughs. Seating is first come, first served so guests are encouraged to arrive early to grab a craft cocktail and mingle with fellow comedy lovers before the show begins. Beyond the signature drinks made with Distillery of Modern Art’s in-house spirits, guests can nosh on The Spotted Trotter Charcuterie and explore the current art installation featuring works from local artists Craig Dongoski and Armando Chacon.
