PAWS FEST RETURNS TO THE AVENUE WEST COBB FEATURING DOCKDOGS® NATIONAL SPORTSMEN’S SERIES COMPETITION

Exhilarating event to feature pet vendors, giveaways, and a live DJ for furry friends and families

Saturday, 5/18 and Sunday, 5/19

The Avenue West Cobb, an outdoor lifestyle shopping center, is preparing to host its second annual dog-friendly event—Paws Fest. The two-day event will kick off on Saturday, May 18 at 10 a.m. and conclude Sunday, May 19 at 4:30 p.m. 

“Hosting events like Paws Fest allows us to create moments our guests and their furry friends will never forget,” said Alondra Moya, marketing manager of The Avenue West Cobb. “We are constantly looking for ways to be an entertainment destination within our community, and this is a perfect example of how we are bringing together friends, family and beloved pets for a day of pure joy.” 

An exciting entertainment experience for dog lovers and pet parents, Paws Fest will feature several high-flying canine competitions, as part of DockDogs® National Sportsmen’s Series. Competitions taking place throughout the two-day event include the Big Air Wave competition, Extreme Vertical competition and Speed Retrieve competition. Visitors attending Paws Fest can watch the contests on both days at the following times:

In addition to the DockDogs® competitions, multiple local pet-friendly vendors — such as Bark Street Petopia and Bark N Bunk— will host interactive vendor booths showcasing hard-to-find items like all-natural grain-free dog treats, pet odor-eliminating candles and more.

Is there paw-siblly a better combination than dogs, hot dogs and beer? Red Beer Garden doesn’t think so. Located in Benteen Park between Grant Park and East Atlanta, the local, dog-friendly haunt is celebrating International Dog Day on Thursday, August 26th with a Pups and Pints Night. Beginning at 6:30 p.m., pups can gobble up treats in the expansive beer garden while their owners sip on pints of cold brews and indulge in some of Red’s favorite offerings including the BLT Dog, Slaw Dogs Go To Heaven, the Benteen Club, Beyond Meat Nachos and much more. There will also be a leash making station so all pups can leave looking even more fetching. 10% of all sales between 6:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. will be donated to the Atlanta Rescue Dog Cafe, a non-profit organization with the mission to contribute to the well-being of pets and people everywhere by improving human-animal interaction, reducing the prevalence of animal cruelty, and relieving the strain on local animal shelters. 2019 Doggies on the Catwalk

About: Doggies on the Catwalk returns this year for its biggest fashion event to date. Celebrating 12 years of philanthropic success, The Doggies on the Catwalk Foundation founder and notable Atlanta personality, E. Vincent Martinez, is thrilled to take this year’s event to the next level. Taking place at Greenberg Traurig’s Atlanta penthouse office suite at Terminus 200 in the heart of Buckhead for the second year in a row, attendees are invited to experience a crowd-pleasing runway lineup that includes adorable pups, local personalities and coveted luxury brands. An unforgettable evening of fashion, fun and philanthropy, Doggies on the Catwalk fashion event will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at 7 p.m. and benefits several organizations including Canine Assistants, a non-profit which educates and provides service dogs for children and adults with physical disabilities or other special needs. URBANTREE CIDERY SUNDAY FUNDAY PET PAWTY 2019

UrbanTree Cidery, Atlanta’s first craft cidery, is excited to host their first ever Sunday Funday Pet “Paw”ty on Sunday, March 31! Dog lovers are welcome to bring their furry pals, meet fellow pet owners in the community, and gather at UrbanTree’s West Midtown tasting room and outdoor patio from 12:30-6:30pm.

A portion of proceeds from the event will be donated to Vintage Pet Rescue, a nonprofit organization committed to rescuing senior pets from shelters and assisting owners who can no longer care for their senior pets. The organization also refurbishes used furniture into dog beds.

During the event, guests may purchase special treats at the King of Pups vending cart and have professional photos taken of their stylishly costumed and dressed up pups by photographer Chris Cottrell. Organic, all-natural dog treats from Big Daddy Biscuits will be complimentary with a small donation to Vintage Pet Rescue, and water stations will be placed throughout the space.

For the humans, UrbanTree will serve special “Hair of the Dog” cocktails, including Bloody Marys and mimosas made with UrbanTree cider, and of course, their flagship ciders and seasonal flavors.
