Sun., June 16, noon – City Winery’s Father’s Day Jazz Brunch featuring Antoine Gibson City Winery Atlanta invites guests to celebrate dad with brunch and a show during this Father’s Day event featuring a performance by Antoine Gibson (tickets here). A saxophonist and recording artist, Gibson has performed on some of the world’s largest stages including Carnegie Hall, Baltimore Jazz Festival and Super Bowl LI. Antoine has also made appearances in a host of TV shows and movies, including Tyler Perry’s “A Jazzman’s Blues” and “Coming 2 America” alongside Afrobeat artist Davido. He was featured on Young Jeezy’s Recession 2 album before releasing his debut album “Tales From The Eastside” in 2022. He is currently working on his third studio album with the first single “I20-East” set to go to radio in August of 2024

Fins Up Water Park at Margaritaville at Lanier Islands

What better way to beat the summer heat than to spend Father’s Day weekend at Margaritaville at Lanier Islands?

Guests can experience Fins Up Water Park’s new highly anticipated Fins Up Falls waterslide complex, which features Georgia’s first and largest waterslide coaster, Apocalypse.

Apocalypso is one slide incorporated into the four-slide tower, which spans 418 feet and features the most significant drop of its kind in the U.S. The slide sends riders on an adventure through steep hills and valleys at an average water speed of 30 mph before a dramatic final descent onto a massive wave wall.

The water park also debuted three additional slides for the 2024 season, bringing its total number of attractions to 18.

  • Serpentine Storm: Thrilling rotations combined with a downward-spiraling descent.
  • Dreamsicle Dive: High-intensity fun with closed and open tubes for an exhilarating ride.

In addition to Fins Up Falls, the water park doubled the Aquatic Adventure inflatable obstacle course in Lake Lanier, providing guests with increased capacity and numerous opportunities to jump and splash in the lake.

For those seeking a retreat amidst the excitement guests can enjoy the new resort-style cabana rental program poolside. The spacious cabanas offer cozy seating sling chaises Wi-Fi and tables all available for daily rental. Accommodating up to 10 people cabana guests can enjoy personal service with advance bookings available on the park’s website. Large poolside cabanas are priced at $299 for a full-day rental, while smaller-scale beachside palapas are $199.

THE AVENUE PEACHTREE CITY REVS UP FOR SUMMER FUN WITH TOUCH-A-TRUCK, FATHER’S DAY CRUISE-IN AND MORE

The Avenue Peachtree City, an outdoor lifestyle shopping center, is gearing up for the summer season with a fantastic lineup of family-friendly events. 

“The Avenue Peachtree City is ready for an amazing summer! We are the perfect destination to enjoy beautiful days with friends and family, and our events are free and open to the public to enjoy all summer long,” says Jessica Peterson, marketing manager of The Avenue Peachtree City.

The Avenue Peachtree City will kick off the summer season with their Touch-a-Truck event on Thursday, May 16 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Central Park. Guests of all ages can meet and take photos with emergency response teams and their vehicles. Emergency responders will also give an inside look into how they operate and respond to calls. Participating vendors and sponsors include the Fayette County Board of Education, Mercedes Benz of Atlanta South, Peachtree City Fire Department, Southern Scapes Tree Experts and Reed Knight — COUNTRY Financial.

On June 16, The Avenue will celebrate Father’s Day with a special Cruise-In from 9-12 p.m. Guests are encouraged to bring dad and cruise around, check out the vehicles on display, and stick around for lunch at one of The Avenue’s many restaurants.   • Ray’s in the City is the place to be for those celebrating Father’s Day downtown.   • Livingston Restaurant & Bar, in The Georgian Terrace Hotel, is hosting a Big Green Egg cookout on the terrace for Father’s Day where dad is invited to help tend to the Big Green Egg or let the chef prepare the meal tableside. The menu boasts a choice of appetizer (blue cheese wedge salad, shrimp cocktail or burrata salad); a pre-ordered choice of protein (40-ounce Angus porterhouse for $250, 22-ounce bone-in ribeye for $225, 24-ounce tomahawk pork chop for $175 or 14-ounce ahi tuna for $160); family-style sides (grilled asparagus, loaded baked potato and forest mushrooms) and sharable desserts. Chef Leonard Yu invites guests to his intimate Westside sushi restaurant Omakase Table to experience a revered dining experience using the freshest ingredients that he meticulously prepares. Among chef Olivia Hurst’s brunch offerings are crab cake Benedict, fried chicken and biscuits and the wagyu breakfast burger. The Alpharetta eatery accepts reservations online.
  • Milton’s Cuisine & Cocktails’ helps families treat the special dads in their lives to a great meal on Father’s Day. The Crabapple eatery will be open from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. featuring a specially crafted three-course prix fixe menu priced at $55 for adults and $27.50 for children (price does not include tax or gratuity).
