National Grocer Invites Customers to Experience ‘A Little Italy’ With Unique Italian Products and Ingredients 

 

On Feb. 20, Whole Foods Market customers in New York, Los Angeles, Austin and Atlanta can indulge in an evening of Italian culinary discovery at intimate pop-up dinners co-hosted by the grocer’s cheese, wine and culinary experts alongside Italian cheesemakers and prosciutto suppliers. Each ‘A Little Italy’ event will feature an authentic, family-style meal composed of six courses, including Cacio e Pepe featuring Pecorino Romano with Parmigiano Reggiano grated tableside and Osso Buco served over creamy rosemary polenta.  

 

“Our dedicated team members travel throughout Italy to bring the finest traditionally-produced Italian items to Whole Foods Market stores, and we’re excited to offer these authentic products together on a dinner menu for one night only,” says Whole Foods Market Vice President of Specialty Cathy Strange. “We want our guests to feel like they’ve been invited for a meal in Nonna’s kitchen.” 

 

‘A Little Italy’ dinner guests will also enjoy curated wine and prosecco pairings to complement each of the six courses. At each dinner experience, American Cheese Society Certified Cheese Professionals will take on an 80-pound Parmigiano Reggiano wheel-cracking demonstration, all while explaining the craftsmanship that goes into producing the Northern Italian favorite. In addition, during the antipasti course, Italian suppliers will shave prosciutto on-site for sampling and pairing; during the dessert course, trained baristas will expertly pour Allegro Coffee using state of the art La Marzocco espresso machines.

Cheers to 2020 celebrations at the south’s preeminent lifestyle destination

The Battery Atlanta invites neighbors near and far to ring in 2020 at its third annual New Year’s Eve Bash at the Battery Atlanta on Tuesday, Dec. 31. As one of the largest outdoor New Year’s Eve celebrations in the metro-Atlanta area, the two-part event is geared toward families first during Early Innings (6 to 8 pm) and then adults with Late Innings (9pm to midnight).  Scheduled entertainment and performances include The Battery Atlanta Spirit Squad, the Heavy Hitters and the 12South Band.

David Garibaldi, a world-renowned performance painter, will be on hand, transforming a blank canvas into a work of art in minutes; guests will be in awe of the musical and colorful experience live on stage.

The entertainment destination will host countdowns at 8 p.m. and midnight led by Atlanta Braves in-game host, Mark Owens. Parents and children can enjoy an inflatable baseball balloon drop to conclude Early Innings festivities. The Late Innings midnight countdown features pyrotechnics, an aerial firework display over SunTrust Park and confetti throughout the complex.

Next month at December’s Night Market, The Home Depot Backyard will be taken over by the smells, sounds and bright colors of a globally inspired market, featuring Atlanta’s top culinary talent, live music, and a colorful array of artisan vendors to kick off the holiday season. Crackling fire pits will invite guests to cozy up where they can enjoy the evening under the stars sipping cocktails and shopping the curated market for the perfect gift. Located in the heart of downtown Atlanta outside of Mercedes-Benz Stadium, the market offers visitors the chance to experience all the international feel and fun without the trouble of fitting their gifts and treats in their suitcase.

“On the heels of our most successful market to date, Night Market is delighted to welcome even more of Atlanta’s top chefs and one-of-a-kind artisan vendors for December. ‘TIS THE SEASON TO FETE THE HOLIDAYS AT THE SHOPS BUCKHEAD ATLANTA

Featuring the Buckhead Bake Off to Kick Off the Season, Holiday Block Parties with Spontaneous Performances, Festive Window Displays & More

This holiday season, the streets at The Shops Buckhead Atlanta will transform into a festive holiday destination, complete with merry window displays, holiday block parties, a gift-wrapping station and the Buckhead Bake Off to kick off this joyous time of year. Dazzling art deco decor and holiday lights will thread throughout the shopping and dining destination’s winding streetscape, welcoming kids and adults alike to join in the celebration all season long.

From noon to 4pm on Saturday, November 30, merriment will be all around at the Buckhead Bake Off, launching the holiday season at The Shops. Free and open to the public, the celebration will include spontaneous performances and a friendly baking competition featuring delicious treats from some of Atlanta’s finest bakeries and restaurants. Judged by attendees, the Bake Off will culminate with St. Nick crowning the winner. Plus, there will be lawn games for the whole family to enjoy.

On December 7 and 14, The Shops Buckhead Atlanta will throw holiday block parties from noon to 4pm where guests will be invited to decorate a holiday cactus to take home, enjoy live entertainment and bring their furry friends to snap a festive pet portrait.

  • Buckhead Bake Off (Saturday, Nov. 30, Noon – 4pm) – Merriment will be all around at the Buckhead Bake Off, launching the holiday season at The Shops. Free and open to the public, the celebration in the streets will include spontaneous performances and a friendly baking competition featuring delicious treats from Atlanta bakeries and restaurants including Georgetown Cupcake, The Southern Gentleman, Root Baking Co., Spiller Park Coffee and King + Duke, among others. Guests will each receive seven complimentary tastings and a Best in Show coin to vote for their favorite treat. Judged by attendees and special guests, the Bake Off will culminate with St. Nick crowning the winner for Best Sweet, Best Savory, Best Classic and Best in Show. Plus, there will be a decorate-your-own holiday succulent station, a cupcake decorating tutorial by Young Chef’s Academy and lawn games for the whole family to enjoy. Commemorative Buckhead Bake Off totes and additional tastings will be available with a donation to Giving Kitchen, the local nonprofit providing emergency assistance to food service workers through financial support and a network of community resources.

 

  • Holiday Block Parties (Saturday, Dec. 7 & 14, Noon – 4pm) – The Shops Buckhead Atlanta will throw two Holiday Block Parties throughout the destination’s streets, inviting guests to enjoy live performances, bring their furry friends and cameras to snap a festive pet portrait and check off a holiday chore at a gift-wrapping station located in the Center Plaza.

  • Small Business Saturday at Bella Cucina (Saturday, Nov. 30, 11am – 7pm) – Join Bella Cucina for Shop Small Saturday! The premiere artisan specialty food brand and shop offering all-natural, artful foods and gifts will have refreshments and a photo booth to celebrate a special pop-up open through December, featuring clothing, tabletop items and Heath Ceramics from Alabama Chanin. Peroni will be pouring beer and will give away a special glass to shoppers, while supplies last.

 

  • Home-Baked Treats & Gourmet Beverages at Abbey Glass (Saturday, Nov. 30, Noon – 4pm) – Shop Abbey Glass’s seasonal collection during the Buckhead Bake Off, and enjoy home-baked treats and gourmet beverages from Abbey’s favorite holiday recipes. Shoppers will receive free gift wrapping and a gift with purchases over $150.

 

  • The Southern Gentleman (Saturday, Nov. 30 and Saturday, Dec. 7 & 14, Noon – 4pm) – Cozy up at the New-American-meets-Southern restaurant and enjoy a complimentary hot chocolate bar during the Buckhead Bake Off. Guests can add a “spike” to the hot chocolate for an additional cost. 

 

  • Holiday Market at Buckhead Art & Company (Saturday, Dec. 7, Noon – 7pm & Sunday, Dec. 8, Noon – 3pm) – Sponsored by Wyndy – a free app helping parents find, book and pay trusted college babysitters – the Holiday Market will feature works from Buckhead artist moms including Emma Bell, Lindsay Von, Parrish Hoag and Christine Sommerville. On Saturday, December 7, the gallery will host a Holiday Happy Hour from 4 – 7pm.

It’s FUN FUN FUN at Kicking It Sports milestone 10th Fun Day Event. If you enjoy a day filled with free fun, then you will want to sign up for the 10th Kicking It Sports event in the Historical Kirkwood area in Atlanta, GA. They offer a space for you to bring out your inner child and run around the fields like you did only a few years ago. You can share laughs, food, smiles, and your experiences with great vibes. No hassle with trying to get a team together, they use the ‘pick-up’ style so they pick players as they go. This event is free!

14TH ANNUAL SCARECROW HARVEST

Stroll through the scarecrow village, dance on the great lawn to the sounds of a live DJ or sit back and relax as you listen to the storyteller at the 14th Annual Scarecrow Harvest Festival. Alpharetta’s popular fall tradition is returning to an all-new location in Brooke Street Park behind City Hall on Saturday, October 5 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. This year’s event will offer more activities and entertainment, including the always popular Scarecrow Village, fall crafts, face painting, inflatables, storytelling, a live DJ and more.

Schools, families, neighborhoods, and local businesses will design and create more than 120 scarecrows, which will be on display throughout Downtown Alpharetta in October. Scarecrows will be eligible to win awards in various categories and the winners will be announced at the Scarecrow Harvest Festival at noon.

This year’s event will offer plenty of family friendly, interactive activities, including a bubble artist, mini pumpkin decorating, and other fall crafts. New this year, the Scrap Exchange invites patrons to create unique crafts from recyclable materials such as foam, paper, fabric, zippers, buttons, test tubes, and more. The festival is free to attend and designed to delight all ages. Food trucks and vendors, beverages and seasonal treats will be available for purchase.

The Alpharetta Farmer’s Market will be held the same day on the Town Green, just a short walk from Scarecrow Harvest Festival.

17TH ANNUAL GRANT PARK SUMMER SHADE FESTIVAL

Free, Family-Friendly Festival Featuring Live Music, an Expansive Artist Market,
Food Trucks, Craft Beer, a 5K Run, and Much More

An annual tradition, the Grant Park Summer Shade Festival will welcome music and art lovers to Atlanta’s oldest park for its 17th year on Saturday, August 24 and Sunday, August 25, 2019. Produced by and benefiting the Grant Park Conservancy, the two-day, fun-filled festival will once again feature an impressive lineup of live music throughout the weekend in addition to an expansive artist market, Kids Zone, 5K run, and much more. Open to all ages and free to attend, the 17th annual festival will also have a diverse selection of local food trucks and vendors with offerings for all tastes, cocktails, a beer garden featuring acoustic music and family-friendly games and more.

On Saturday morning at 8 a.m., runners, walkers and strollers are invited to take part in the annual Adams Realtors Run for the Park 5K, which includes a free kid’s tot trot for ages 5 and under and a stroller stroll along the race course. Raising funds to support the Grant Park Conservancy, the course map start and finish will be at the main entrance to Zoo Atlanta.
