ALTATORO’S WICKED HIDEAWAY RETURNS TO MIDTOWN ATLANTA THIS HALLOWEEN

The annual Halloween pop-up returns October 1 through November 1 with themed cocktails, immersive décor, dinner, weekend brunch and live fire shows

This Halloween season, AltaToro is once again transforming its heated and covered patio into Wicked Hideaway, a festive Halloween pop-up experience returning to Midtown Atlanta October 1 through November 1.

Wicked Hideaway invites guests to step into a Halloween-inspired setting while enjoying AltaToro’s modern Latin cuisine, specialty cocktails and signature entertainment. The transformed patio features Halloween-themed décor, glowing jack-o’-lanterns, twinkling lights and photo-worthy moments throughout the space.

The experience goes beyond cocktails, with guests able to enjoy AltaToro’s full dinner menu while dining inside Wicked Hideaway. On weekends, the space will also be available for guests enjoying AltaToro’s weekend brunch menu, making Wicked Hideaway a destination throughout the day and into the evening.

Live Fire Shows Every Friday & Saturday

Adding to the experience, AltaToro’s live fire shows return every Friday and Saturday from 7:30–10PM throughout the Halloween season. The high-energy performances offer guests an entertaining addition to dinner, drinks and the Wicked Hideaway atmosphere.

THE BLIND PIG PARLOUR BAR GETS INTO THE HALLOWEEN SPIRIT WITH WICKED PIG POP-UP STARTING SEPT. 29

 The Blind Pig Parlour Bar lures guests to eat, drink and be scary at its newest pop-up experience—The Wicked Pig. Starting Friday, Sept. 29, the Buckhead speakeasy is transforming into a hauntingly fun destination boasting spine-tingling décor, and a mesmerizing vibe. Guests can sip on a variety of creative Halloween-themed cocktails and sink their teeth into light bites inspired by the spooky season.

Among the spooky sippers and shots served in syringes are:

  • Rosemary’s Baby – jalapeño-infused El Jimador, blackberry-rosemary syrup, lemon, and Cointreau
  • Pumpkin spice espresso martini – coffee liqueur, cold brew, and orange topped with chai foam
  • Schizophrenia – Old Forester, Banhez mezcal, rosemary simple, black walnut bitters, and orange bitters
  • I Put a Spell on You – pink lemonade vodka, butterfly pea-infused Chareau, grapefruit, and soda water
  • Vampire’s Kiss – Banhez mezcal, Amaro Nonino, Aperol, and lemon
  • B12 shot – vanilla vodka, Frangelico, and lemon
  • Adrenaline shot – Captain Morgan, dry Curaçao, Drambuie, and grapefruit

Halloween-themed light bites include:

  • CharCUTerie if you dare – sliced meats and cheeses, fruit, and accompaniments ($20)

  • Mummy dogs – phyllo-wrapped hot dog with dipping sauces ($10)

The Wicked Pig will be open Wednesday-Saturday starting Sept. 29-Nov. 4 from 5 p.m. until late. Reservations are strongly recommended through OpenTable. Walk-ins are available at the bar on a first-come, first-served basis. The Wicked Pig may be reserved for small parties and special events any day of the week.

After a wildly successful run in Marietta, Into the Film is psyched to bring back “Save the Video Store,” an immersive theatrical experience, but this time reimagined as a Y2K-era Horror Experience, just in time for Halloween season. 

Created and directed by Erin Stegeman (Fun Size Horror, Once Upon A Time: The Rock Opera, Shame of Thrones), “Save the Video Store 2.0” is described as a combination of campy nostalgia, interactive theater, and escape room. The 90-minute experience thrusts guests into iconic late 90s-00s scary movies as they engage with the cast of employees, compete for prizes and more! The pop up Moviebuster (that’s the name of the show’s titular video store) also includes a themed bar for guests to enjoy nostalgic drinks before and after the show. 

“We’re the haunt experience for those that love comedy and campy fun with their scares, which was archetypal to movies of that era”, says Stegeman

The team at Into the Film is no stranger to the interactive theater experience. In 2017, they produced “A Night at the Opera,” an experience which allowed guests to enter the world of 1880s Paris to become part of one of the most famous stories of all time: The Phantom of the Opera.

“We are all massive cinephiles who have been hungry for a new way to experience film, bringing it to life with immersive theater,” said Into the Film co-founders Erik Mihlsten and Alena Geffner-Mihlsten. “With the massive growth of the film industry in Atlanta over the last several years, we believe it’s the perfect location to thrust an audience right into the action at the intersection of film and theater.”

“Save the Video Store” is set to run from Sept 16 – Nov 6, 2022, at the Underground Atlanta.

Madame Krystal’s Haunted Drive-Thru Starting Oct. 15

Quick-Service Restaurant Invites Guests for Halloween Fun and Drive-Thru Trick-or-Treating

 

All dressed up with nowhere to go? Get in the Halloween spirit at Madame Krystal’s haunted drive-thru. Beginning Oct. 15 through Oct. 31, guests can enter a world of mystery, fortune and mystique at Krystal located at 5140 South Cobb Drive in Smyrna, Georgia.

Guests will be greeted on the street by a larger-than-life fortune teller gazing into her crystal ball. Upon entering the drive-thru, guests can learn about the history of Krystal’s namesake, the crystal ball. They will then begin to unravel their futures and the future of Krystal with Madame Krystal in the drive-thru window. Spooky skeletons, ghastly ghouls and creepy carnival scenes complete the hocus-pocus fun for the whole family.

From 4-8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31, Krystal is partnering with the Hershey Company to hand out candy to children who yell “trick or treat” safely from their car windows at the drive-thru. The drive-thru will be open all day for guests to enjoy Krystal’s full menu of favorites including Original Krystals, Chili Cheese Pups, Tots and more.

“In this challenging year, Krystal is thrilled to provide a festive Halloween in the communities we serve,” says Angela Johnson, Vice President of Marketing at Krystal Restaurants LLC. “We want families to have a safe way to enjoy all the things that make Halloween so exciting and fun.”

All Krystal drive-thrus will be open on Halloween, and participating locations also will be handing out candy.

The Krystal Company remains committed to the health and safety of guests and team members. Restaurants are following strict public health guidelines and also are taking extra precautions such as staying in contact with local health officials for the latest advisories. Krystal drive-thrus are open 6 a.m.-midnight with dining rooms open with limited hours, and restaurants are offering delivery through UberEATS®, DoorDash® and Grubhub®.
