CARMEL PRESENTS: A COASTAL FEAST OF SEVEN FISHES  (DEC. 19-24)

This holiday season, Carmel – the Buckhead Village restaurant serving free and inspired contemporary seafood – will be offering a special Feast of Seven Fishes prix fixe menu that promises to transport guests to the Mediterranean. Taking inspiration from the time-honored Italian-American tradition, Carmel invites diners to indulge in their rendition that celebrates the ocean’s bounty from December 19-24:

ruby finger lime, Ikura, DOP olive oil

Second Course:

Grilled Scallops

uni, shiitake, wagyu vinaigrette

THE OFFICE BAR TO HOST UGLY HOLIDAY SWEATER PARTY IN MIDTOWN ATLANTA

Get in the holiday spirit with an ugly sweater contest, festive drinks, live music and more

‘Tis the season to break out your holiday worst and head to The Office Bar for its annual Ugly Holiday Sweater Party! The Midtown Atlanta community is invited to join The Office Bar on Dec. 16 for a jolly good time complete with festive cocktails, live music by local musician Ethel and plenty of holiday cheer. Additionally, one sweater will be crowned the ugliest of them all for a grand prize.

New to the menu for the holidays, The Office Bar is serving up a “Sugar Plum Spritz” featuring Kusha Plum Sake, Trimbach Mirabelle Eau de Vie, lemon juice, Peychaud’s bitters and sparkling wine, along with the “Mistletoe Margarita” with Don Fulano Blanco Tequila, Cointreau, cranberry liquor and sour lime cordial.

Forsyth County’s premier mixed-use village invites the community to play, shop, dine and experience what’s new

Head to Halcyon in December for an exciting line-up of events. Kick off the month by enjoying festive drinks at the Ugly Christmas Sweater Bar Crawl, meeting Santa with your little ones at Kids Club and celebrating all the winter holidays at Halcyon Holiday Magic and Chanukah at Halcyon.

Hobnob’s Ski Chalet Pop-Up Bar

Running through December 31

Head to Hobnob at Halcyon this month for its winter ski resort pop-up bar. Try some of the best Apres-ski fare east of the Rockies and enjoy snowy-season-inspired, cozy cocktails by the fireplace. Halcyon Holiday Magic

Saturday, December 7 from 11 a.m.-3 p.m.

Head to Halcyon for a magical day as the district officially welcomes Santa and friends! Guests can meet and take photos with their favorite characters including Santa Claus, The Grinch, Minnie and Mickey, Anna and Elsa and Buddy and Jovie. Families can also visit the Northside Hospital Teddy Bear station to get their own teddy bear to take home, groove to live local music (line-up to come) presented by Galaxy Music and Arts and enjoy face painting, balloon artists, crafts and so much more. 

Early bird tickets are $20 per child through Nov. 27. If any tickets remain, ticket prices will revert to regular pricing of $25 per child on Nov. 28 until all tickets are sold. This is a rain-or-shine event! Most activities and all characters will be moved inside in case of inclement weather. No refunds will be issued.

Christmas Kid’s Craft

Sunday, December 8 at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Bring the whole family for a festive morning of Christmas cheer at Cherry Street! Kids can get creative at our ornament decorating station, while parents relax and enjoy brunch in the Brewhouse.

Two time slots are available, 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. or 1 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Join Cherry Street for a merry Sip and Paint night at Halcyon, where creativity meets holiday cheer. Get into the festive spirit as guests craft their own seasonal masterpiece while sipping on holiday brews and cocktails. With a cozy, 21+ only atmosphere, holiday decorations, and expert guidance, it’s the perfect blend of artistry and holiday fun. 

Ticket sales will cut off on Dec. 10 at 5 p.m. Tickets include a reserved seat in the festive Brewhouse, a holiday-inspired signature cocktail, all necessary painting supplies, guided instruction to create a holiday masterpiece and gratuity and tax. Holiday Trivia

Tuesday, December 17 at 7:30 p.m.

Experience holiday joy with Holiday Trivia in Cherry Street’s Brewville Pop-Up Bar. Enjoy themed drinks and festive decor while competing in trivia for prizes. Reserve a spot now for a jolly good time. A deposit of $25 is required upon sign-up to reserve a table (deposit is applied towards the tab at the end of trivia). The deposit includes one reserved table or bar seat for up to 6 guests in the Brewville Brewhouse and one round of rousing holiday-themed trivia. Ugly Christmas Sweater Bar Crawl

Thursday, December 12 from 6 p.m.-10 p.m.

The Annual Halcyon Ugly Christmas Sweater Bar Crawl is back, so head to Halcyon for a fun night for a great cause, benefitting The Place. The $15 admission ticket includes a Grinch Margarita (mocktail option available) at CT Cantina & Taqueria, an incredible night of fun, photos with the Grinch, and visits to all participating restaurants, including two seasonal pop-up bars, Brewville Christmas Bar at Cherry Street Brewpub and the Ski Chalet Pop-up Bar at HOBNOB.

Some of Halcyon’s restaurants and bars will feature live music, DJs, and dance parties. The Grinch will also be selecting the winners of the Ugly Christmas Sweater Contest and each winner will receive a $50 gift card from one of Halcyon’s restaurants. Guests can also purchase $10 tickets for a chance to win prizes. Prizes include a reserved VIP table at Cherry Street Brewpub’s Brewville Christmas Bar during the December 12th event and HOBNOB at Halcyon Bourbon Club Tasting tickets for four guests on January 8th, 2025 ($160 value).

The Ugly Christmas Sweater Bar Crawl is a fundraiser for The Place, a non-profit organization whose mission is to assist the people in Forsyth and Dawson County areas with essential needs and to be self-sustaining. This event is strictly for those 21 and over. Halcyon strongly encourages Uber & Lyft. This event is also rain or shine and tickets are non-refundable. Chick-fil-A Halcyon Dinner With Santa

Friday, December 13 at 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m.

Join Chick-fil-A Halcyon for a magical evening at Dinner With Santa! Get into the holiday spirit and enjoy a delicious dinner with the jolly man himself. The whole family is invited for a fun-filled night of food, festivities, and special surprises. Don’t miss out on this special event and make sure to reserve your spot early. It’s sure to be a jolly good time!

The regular ticket includes dinner, dessert, pictures with Santa and other holiday festivities for one adult and one child. Cars and Coffee Hosted by Mercedes-Benz Club of America

Saturday, December 15 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Join the Mercedes-Benz Experience by RBM of Alpharetta for a beautiful morning sipping on specialty coffee drinks, viewing Mercedes-Benz vehicles from a variety of years in the Halcyon event parking lot and mingling with friends and other members of the Mercedes-Benz Club of America. Mercedes-Benz Experience by RBM of Alpharetta will be offering special discounts off merchandise for all Mercedes-Benz Club of America members. This event is open to all Mercedes-Benz owners. Santa at Kids Club

Wednesday, December 18 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

Kids are out of school, so Halcyon has planned a special holiday edition of Kids Club. Children will be able to visit and take photos with Santa and a Nutcracker ballerina thanks to Tutu School (bring your own camera, no professional photographer on-site). There will also be crafts and kids activities and the chance to play with and meet adoptable puppies from FurKids.

Families are encouraged to stay for lunch at Halcyon and wrap up their holiday shopping at retailers such as Piggy Jo’s – Halcyon’s children’s clothing and toy boutique! Dress warm, as all activities will be held outside. This event is rain or shine. Santa photos and some of the activities will move inside in case of inclement weather. Brunch n’ Brews with Santa at Cherry Street

Saturday, December 14 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Join Cherry Street at Halcyon for one of the year’s most festive and fun events! Savor a scrumptious brunch, then head to the Brewhouse to meet Santa, snap photos, and share your Christmas wishes. Reservations are not required for pictures with Santa or for brunch. Eat, drink and be merry at HOBNOB at Halcyon! The adults-only Christmas party will include a dance floor, raffle, DJ’s on the rooftop and 1st floor, drink specials and $5 Naughty Shots. Guests are invited to get into holiday spirit with festive activities and events

including photos with Santa, Christmas carolers, giveaways and more

The Avenue Peachtree City, an outdoor lifestyle shopping center, is enhancing the holiday experience for guests through a series of holiday-themed activities and events. The center’s lineup of Holiday events will kick off on Black Friday, November 29.

“We are thrilled to bring the holiday season to life with so many wonderful holiday-themed events for our shoppers and guests to enjoy,” says Kelly Lawrence, marketing manager at The Avenue Peachtree City. “Family-friendly and open to all, we sincerely hope that these complementary events and activities will create lasting memories for members of the Peachtree City community.”

Holiday events and activities happening at The Avenue Peachtree City include:

Black Friday Giveaways – Starting at 8 a.m. on Friday, November 29, the first 100 shoppers will receive a free tote bag filled with special deals and goodies. In the spirit of giving, the center will be adding an extra special gift inside a select number of bags. Tote bags will be given away on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Holiday Photos with Santa & Mrs. Claus – On select Mondays in Dec., Santa and Mrs. Claus will join the festivities, taking photos with guests and spreading holiday cheer. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be located in Central Park under the gazebo, and accompanied by holiday music and complimentary hot chocolate provided by Beignets & Brews. Shoppers and guests can meet Santa and Mrs. Claus on Dec. 2, 9, 16 and 23 from 5-7 p.m.

Merry Mischief with Santa’s Helpers – On select Saturdays in Dec., shoppers will have the chance to meet their favorite holiday characters, both naughty and nice, as they shop at The Avenue Peachtree City. Guests can meet and capture photos with their favorite holiday characters on Dec. 7, 14 and 21 from 1-3 p.m.

Christmas Carolers – Shoppers will be able to immerse themselves in the sounds of the holidays with Christmas Carolers performing throughout the center. Shoppers can hear the serene sounds of the holidays on December 8, 15, and 22 from 1-3 p.m.

Ugly Sweater Bar Crawl – Get ready to don your ugliest holiday sweater and join us for a festive Ugly Sweater Bar Crawl! On December 20 starting at 6 p.m., guests can join the free bar crawl event and enjoy exclusive drink specials and a chance to win prizes. Pick up your passport at any participating location, collect stamps as you make your way through each spot, and drop it off at the end of the night for a chance to win! Noon Year’s Eve – The Avenue Peachtree City will host their annual New Year’s Eve celebration, Noon Year’s Eve, on Dec. 31 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. Noon Year’s Eve allows families with young children to spend time together by celebrating the new year with a countdown to noon at Central Park. During the event, guests can enjoy a face painting, a DJ, a bounce house, and a festive balloon drop.

8th Annual Thanksgiving Gobble Wobble 5K, 10K, and 1K Fun Run

Runners can register online or in-person for the 5K, 10K race or the 1K Fun Run, which is reserved for kids ages 10 and under. In order to make Halcyon Holiday Magic run smoothly and minimize lines, the event will be ticketed this year and all proceeds will be donated to Family Promise of Forsyth County. Atlanta’s premier entertainment hub provides holiday festivities like the Xfinity Movie Series, Annual Tree Lighting and more

The Battery Atlanta caters to the whole family with festive events throughout November. Music fans can expect the best of the best this month as the Coca-Cola Roxy buzzes with performances from artists like Lil Yachty and Blackberry Smoke. Harry Potter fans are invited to escape to Hogwarts in their finest robes at the long-awaited Wizards and Wands event at Live! at The Battery Atlanta. Movie fans may cozy up on the Plaza Green with friends and family to catch one of the Friday night featured films with the Xfinity Movie Series. Atlantans are invited to take a break from the holiday shopping and Thanksgiving cooking and stop by The Battery Atlanta this holiday season!

Outdoor Activities:
Walk to End Alzheimer’s
It’s time for the 2023 annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s! Attendees will lace up their tennis shoes and join the Alzheimer’s Association to raise money for meaningful research. The route is a 5k (3.1 miles), but there is also a 1-mile loop available to those who prefer it. For more information, click here.

Santa’s Post Office Together with Truist

Santa Claus is once again setting up shop at his Post Office in The Battery Atlanta! From Friday, Nov. 25 to Saturday, Dec. 24, Santa will continue the time-honored tradition of greeting local children. Santa will set up shop every Friday through Sunday in the Truist Community Corner, located at the corner of Power Alley and Battery Avenue. Families are invited to bring their handwritten letters to Santa – postage not required – in person at his official Atlanta outpost. Santa’s helpers will take care of the rest! Truist will have additional activities, photo ops and giveaways for the whole family, celebrating the holidays and the local community. Instead of a professional photographer, this free opportunity allows parents / guardians to take their own photos of their children interacting with Santa as he listens to their wish lists.

Cirque du Soleil – The wait is over as the amazing acrobats of Cirque du Soleil have made their grand return to Atlantic Station! Bring the whole family to experience the fantastical, impossible, colossal, unimaginable world of Cirque du Soleil by stepping into the curio cabinet of an ambitious inventor who defies the laws of time, space and dimension in order to reinvent everything around him. Suddenly, the visible becomes invisible, perspectives are transformed and the world is literally turned upside down. Cirque du Soleil offers regular and group tickets, accessible seating and more. Skate the Station – Get into the holiday spirit at Atlanta’s largest outdoor ice skating rink! Skate the Station returns on Friday, Nov. 18 and all are invited to skate under the stars. Skate the Station tickets are on sale now and rentals are included in each purchase. Skaters can enjoy this holiday tradition now through Monday, Jan. 16. The skate shop will be decorated resembling a cozy ski lounge for guests to stay warm before hitting the ice rink and it will be located on 17th ½ St. next to the Safety & Security Office. Light the Station – On Saturday, Nov. 19, the community is invited to watch the lighting of the 50-foot Christmas tree on Atlantic Station’s central greenspace, Atlantic Green. The event includes live musical performances, Christmas crafts for the kids, a book reading by Tiny Doors founder Karen Anderson Singer and more! At 7 p.m., break out your best dance moves in the Holiday Disco Parade that will flow through Atlantic Station and will lead to the magical tree lighting in Atlantic Green. Celebration at the Station – Each night from Sunday, Nov. 20 through Tuesday, Jan. 2, gather around the spectacular Christmas tree at Atlantic Green to experience dazzling celebration with a light and snow show transforming the Station into a winter wonderland. Atlantic Stations Holiday Fashion Show- Unwrap the magic of ATL on Thursday, Dec. 8  from 6 – 9 p.m. at the Atlantic Station Holiday Fashion show benefiting The Alzheimer’s Association, featuring the best holiday looks by Atlantic Station retailers and exclusive brands. Make sure to grab a seat on the patio or balcony for dinner at one of the delicious restaurants on Atlantic Green to watch from West District Avenue. This private event will be held on the Atlantic Green. 

Christmas Eve Makers Market – Maker’s Market is open on Saturday, Dec. 24 for any last-minute holiday shopping from 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. featuring Atlanta’s most talented creators. Guests can shop from an array of local vendors with items for sale, including art, home decor, jewelry, candles and more. Wrap up your holiday shopping with a unique gift for someone special! Atlantic Station Menorah Lighting – Join Chabad Intown to celebrate Hanukkah with the traditional ceremony of the lighting of the Menorah on Tuesday, Dec. 20. From 6 – 7 p.m., family and friends can enjoy holiday-themed activities on Atlantic Green featuring traditional food and beverage offerings, live music, free giveaway items and more. Buckhead Gathering Spot Returns with Sleigh Bells Ringing and

Festive Food, Drinks, Ambiance, and More

Buckhead is even cheerier thanks to the return of The Blind Elf Holiday Pop-Up Bar. The Blind Pig Parlour Bar has temporarily transformed into a magical gathering spot guaranteeing sleigh loads of merriment throughout the holidays.

Guests enter a festive wonderland of over-the-top décor and twinkling lights to discover a variety of warm and chilly holiday-themed drinks, candy cane shots, beer, wine, and bubbles to ensure a spirited mood. Highlights of the Instagram-worthy drink menu include:

  • Sugar Plum Fairy – gin, lemon juice, Chandon, and pink fairy dust
  • Rudolph’s So Bitter – Campari, Antica, vodka, raspberry cordial, and lime juice
  • Feliz Navidad – mezcal, brown sugar molasses, cinnamon, nutmeg, and orange zest
  • Nog-Gonna Make It to Work Tomorrow – eggnog, toasted almond orgeat, and Black Barrel rum

Buckhead Village is decking the halls this holiday season with an abundance of new and returning holiday activities, inviting guests to reunite with annual favorites like The German American Cultural Foundation’s German Christkindl Market & a performance from the Atlanta Ballet 2 and explore a variety of exciting offerings like a new Holidays in Technicolor event series, festive pop-ups and more.

The property will celebrate the merriest time of year as it transforms into an abstract winter wonderland decked with sparkling globes, illuminated trees and fresh eucalyptus garland. Dashing happenings will abound all season long, including:

Create new traditions with Buckhead Village’s Holidays in Technicolor event series, set to transform The Veranda into a whimsical Christmas Tree-scape with the help of renowned and decorated florist Canaan Marshall of HBO Max’s “Full Bloom.” One of the city’s most anticipated photo ops of the season, the technicolor wonderland will don an array of traditional flocked Christmas trees mixed with contemporary painted trees adorned with cozy lighting, unique jewel-tones, dramatic ornaments and bows, lifesize ornaments throughout the space, a dusting of snow throughout The Veranda and other colorful, themed accents.

The series will also kick off with the unveiling of a new mural by Hvass&Hannibal, a Copenhagen design studio, that will debut the artist’s signature style along with a rich color scheme that seamlessly blends with the jewel toned hues from Marshall’s enchanted wonderland.

Stop by to experience a revolving door of family-friendly activities and crafts like ornament and cookie decorating, appearances throughout the day from Stylish Santa, Lilac Wine, Tinsletone Carolers and snowglobe ballerinas, plus restaurant specials and in-store events from shops around the property. Seasonal treats from Saint Germain Bakery, Georgetown Cupcakes, Bella Cucina, Shake Shack and The Southern Gentleman will be available with donation to the Atlanta Ballet.

Next up in Buckhead Village’s Curated Series, a series of bespoke workshops for the creative and curious, is a wreath-making workshop with Le Jardin Français. Under the impeccable direction of floral extraordinaire Marie-Laure Coste-Dujols, attendees will embark on a journey to master the art of French floral design and create inspired holiday wreaths using the season’s best materials. Hosted on Buckhead Avenue, Buckhead Village has partnered with Livable Buckhead to kick off a community tree decorating event set to transform Buckhead Village’s streets into a forest of fully-decorated Christmas trees that will remain on display throughout the weekend before they are donated to the Atlanta Fire Rescue Foundation to spread this season’s holiday cheer. The event will take place from noon to 3pm, alongside festivities from the day’s Holidays in Technicolor event that will continue until 6pm. Buckhead Avenue will be closed on Sat., Dec. 3 for this event.

In addition to donning this season’s pines with festive lights, cards and fire truck ornaments, attendees can enjoy s’mores by the fire pits, festive blooms from Gussied Up Flower Truck, kid-friendly ornament decorating stations, live street art from Atlanta-based chalk muralist Jessi Queen, a vintage photo booth from Atlanta Photo Camper and holiday performances by Xiamara (noon-2pm), Tinsletone Carolers (2-6pm), Tune Union (3-6pm) and Stylish Santa (noon-4pm). This December, the event series will celebrate the holiday season with a holiday market by Artists & Fleas, festive trees, falling snow, costumed street performers and complimentary popcorn on The Trestle, plus live jazz, cornhole, the Misfit DIY Wrapping Factory, complimentary Misfit Mystery Kits and a range of fun, in-store activations, special products, exhibits and more from PCM’s local merchants on the second floor of the Central Food Hall.

 

SKATE THE SKY:

 

Opening Fri., Nov. 26 – Back for a fifth year, The Roof at Ponce City Market invites guests to “Skate the Sky.” Ten stories above Ponce de Leon Avenue, the Rooftop Terrace will feature a 3,500-square-foot ice skating rink open seven days a week. Skaters can also enjoy unlimited games and rides at Skyline Park while donning a faux fur coat provided by The Roof. Ice skating is $15 for adults and children (plus admission to The Roof). Reservations will be available beginning November 1 and include 50 minutes of skating, ice skate rentals and unlimited gameplay at Skyline Park. Skaters must be at least five years of age to skate, and individuals under 12 must be accompanied by an adult skater. Hours for the rink will be the same as The Roof’s regular operating hours, available here.

 

IGLOOS ON THE ROOF:

 

Opening Fri., Nov. 26 – Cozy up this holiday season in private igloos on Ponce City Market’s Roof, located alongside the ice-skating rink and at 9 Mile Station! Rink-side igloos will be open weekdays beginning at 3pm for guests 21+. On Saturdays and Sundays from 11:30am-1:30pm and 2pm-4pm, families can enjoy the igloos. Guests 21+ can enjoy food and beverages – think hot cocktails and champagne – and all rink-side igloo guests will have access to general admission to The Roof, skate rentals, 50 minutes of skate time and unlimited games and rides at Skyline Park (when available). At 9 Mile Station, the restaurant will transform into a woodland forest with cozy igloos overlooking the skyline of Atlanta. Available for guests 21+, the restaurant igloos will offer full-service dining, plus general admission to The Roof and unlimited games and rides at Skyline Park (when available). Igloos reservations are available here. Each seats up to six guests. 

 

NOON YEAR’S EVE ON THE ROOF:

 

Fri., Dec. 31, 10am-3pm – Save the date for The Roof’s annual Noon Year’s Eve celebration! Skyline Park will host a family-friendly celebration for parents and children of all ages to ring in 2022 as guests count down to noon. Tickets are $15 for all ages (3 years and under are free) and can be pre-purchased online here or at the door.

 

Ponce City Market will be closed on Thanksgiving Day (November 26, 2020) and Christmas Day (December 25, 2020).
