Bundle up for the ultimate après ski experience at HOBNOB’s Ski Chalet Pop-Up Bar or immerse yourself in the whimsical holiday decor at Cherry Street Brewpub’s Brewville Pop-Up Bar. Beloved annual events return, including Halcyon Holiday Magic, Brunch and Brews with Santa at Cherry Street Brewpub, Santa Paws, Chanukah Menorah lighting and Ugly Christmas Sweater Bar Crawl. The Forsyth County destination is the perfect go-to spot for friends and families to start new holiday traditions together.

HOBNOB Ski Chalet Pop-Up Bar

HOBNOB at Halcyon is transforming the High-Up Bar on the second floor to a winter getaway! Escape to the comfort of a ski chalet pop-up bar to try some of the best après-ski fare east of the Rockies and new seasonal cocktails such as peppermint martinis, RumChata hot cocoa, Bulleit bourbon hot toddies plus delicious seasonal fare. Thursday, November 16 from 6 – 9 p.m.

Shoppers will receive complimentary premium gift wrapping at all Halcyon boutiques with purchase, and a beautiful, personalized ornament from Letters with Lanta with any boutique purchase of $50 or more. 8th Annual Thanksgiving Gobble Wobble 5K, 10K, and 1K Fun Run

Thursday, November 23 at 7:45 a.m.

Join Halcyon for the Thanksgiving Gobble Wobble race before your Thanksgiving feast! Runners can register online or in-person for the 5K, 10K race or the 1K Fun Run, which is reserved for kids ages 10 and under. In-person registration will be available at Big Peach Running Co. in Cumming until Wednesday, November 22 and on-site registration starting at 7 a.m. on race day if not sold out. All participants will receive a lightweight hoodie and a custom medal. Kids Fun Run participants will receive a lightweight hoodie and a custom Fun Run medal. Thanksgiving at Ocean & Acre

Thursday, November 23 from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Gather around the table with your family and friends this Thanksgiving at Ocean & Acre! Santa Visits Tutu School

Saturday, November 25 from 4 – 6 p.m.

Join Tutu School to celebrate the beginning of the holiday season with Santa and the cast from the Nutcracker! Ticket purchase includes a holiday craft, treats from the Land of Sweets, meet and greet with Metropolitan Ballet Theater’s Nutcracker cast, and a photo opportunity with jolly man, Santa Claus! This event will be held in 30 minute increments, starting at 4 to 4:30 p.m., 4:30 to 5 p.m., 5 to 5:30 p.m., and 5:30 to 6 p.m. All children must have a parent or caregiver present during the event. Halcyon Holiday Magic

Saturday, December 2 from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Experience the wonder of the holiday season at Halcyon Holiday Magic – with special guests, Santa Claus, the Grinch, Minnie and Mickey Mouse and Anna and Elsa from Frozen. All characters will be available for photo opportunities, appointments are not required. Everyone can enjoy cheerful holiday activities, including free face painting, caricature artists, ornament making, balloon animals and more! Emceed by Galaxy Music & Arts, the event will feature live entertainment from talented teen dancers and singers in the community. Stop by the interactive teddy bear tent sponsored by Northside Hospital where the little ones can take home their own teddy bear. Help stuff the fire truck full of new, unwrapped toys to help children in the community have a wonderful Christmas. In order to make Halcyon Holiday Magic run smoothly and minimize lines, the event will be ticketed this year and all proceeds will be donated to Family Promise of Forsyth County. Tickets must be purchased in advance and select the 11 a.m. or 1 p.m. entry time. No walk-up tickets will be available. Brunch & Brews with Santa at Cherry Street Brewpub

Save the date for the fifth annual Brunch & Brews with Santa at Cherry Street Brewpub! Santa Paws benefitting FurKids

Spend your Sunday at Halcyon supporting Georgia’s largest no-kill animal shelter and rescue, FurKids. Bring the family, and of course your dogs, to take professional photos with Santa and visit Halcyon’s dog-friendly retailers, including Unexpected Pooch, and restaurant patios such as Cherry Street Brewpub, Butcher & Brew, Eclipse di Luna, HOBNOB, Never Enough Thyme, Ocean & Acre and Cattle Shed. The $25 registration fee includes hi-res download of your professional photos with Santa, make-your-own paw print ornament from Dogtopia, a puppicino, and a special Halcyon dog gift. Chanukah at Halcyon

Sunday, December 10 from 5 – 7 p.m.

Halcyon invites the community to gather and celebrate Chanukah. Meet in the Village Green for the lighting of the Menorah, gelt (chocolate coins), delicious latkes, games, exciting giveaways and music. Ugly Christmas Sweater Bar Crawl

Grab your crew and join Halcyon for the fifth annual Ugly Christmas Sweater Bar Crawl, featuring a special guest, the Grinch! Put on your tackiest Christmas sweater, enjoy delicious holiday cocktails from bars and restaurants throughout the property. Atlanta’s premier entertainment hub provides holiday festivities like the Xfinity Movie Series, Annual Tree Lighting and more

The Battery Atlanta caters to the whole family with festive events throughout November. Music fans can expect the best of the best this month as the Coca-Cola Roxy buzzes with performances from artists like Lil Yachty and Blackberry Smoke. Harry Potter fans are invited to escape to Hogwarts in their finest robes at the long-awaited Wizards and Wands event at Live! at The Battery Atlanta. Movie fans may cozy up on the Plaza Green with friends and family to catch one of the Friday night featured films with the Xfinity Movie Series. Atlantans are invited to take a break from the holiday shopping and Thanksgiving cooking and stop by The Battery Atlanta this holiday season!

Outdoor Activities:
Walk to End Alzheimer’s
It’s time for the 2023 annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s! Attendees will lace up their tennis shoes and join the Alzheimer’s Association to raise money for meaningful research. The route is a 5k (3.1 miles), but there is also a 1-mile loop available to those who prefer it. For more information, click here.

Fridays on the Plaza Green
Family and friends gather on the Plaza Green and settle in for a movie night every Friday this November. Guests should bring their own seating for the free movie showings, presented by Xfinity.

Immediately following the event, guests are prompted to get comfortable for a showing of “Abominable” on the plaza screen.

Santa’s Post Office Together with Truist
Friday, Nov. 24 through Saturday, Dec. 24
Santa Claus is once again setting up shop at his Post Office in The Battery Atlanta! From Friday, Nov. 25 to Saturday, Dec. 24, Santa will continue the time-honored tradition of greeting local children. Santa will set up shop every Friday through Sunday in the Truist Community Corner, located at the corner of Power Alley and Battery Avenue. Families are invited to bring their handwritten letters to Santa – postage not required – in person at his official Atlanta outpost. Santa’s helpers will take care of the rest! Truist will have additional activities, photo ops and giveaways for the whole family, celebrating the holidays and the local community. Instead of a professional photographer, this free opportunity allows parents / guardians to take their own photos of their children interacting with Santa as he listens to their wish lists.

Celebrate the season with returning and new experiences at Atlanta’s premier intown destination

On Friday, Nov. 25, from noon – 7 p.m., the community is invited to join Atlantic Station with Black Friday festivities on Atlantic Green. Events include free gift wrapping available for gifts purchased from an Atlantic Station retailer; energetic tunes spun by DJ Chika Takai; a hot chocolate and s’mores station from Kilwins available for purchase; a holiday cocktail bar with beverages available for purchase; a Letters to Santa Station; and free photo opportunities with jolly old Saint Nicholas himself. Shop unbeatable deals at Atlantic Station’s retailers or at Maker’s Market, where guests can peruse an assortment of local vendors with items for sale, including art, home decor, jewelry, candles and more. Guests who spend $100 at any combined Atlantic Station retailer or restaurant can show their receipt to redeem a gift at Concierge. Take a break from shopping and stroll through the district searching for the best Instagrammable moments to mark your Black Friday shopping spree, such as festive reindeer, the Volkswagen Beetle and van, plus download the Celebration at The Station mobile app to experience the augmented reality with large shimmering gifts on Atlantic Green. Cirque du Soleil – The wait is over as the amazing acrobats of Cirque du Soleil have made their grand return to Atlantic Station! Bring the whole family to experience the fantastical, impossible, colossal, unimaginable world of Cirque du Soleil by stepping into the curio cabinet of an ambitious inventor who defies the laws of time, space and dimension in order to reinvent everything around him. Suddenly, the visible becomes invisible, perspectives are transformed and the world is literally turned upside down. Cirque du Soleil offers regular and group tickets, accessible seating and more. Skate the Station – Get into the holiday spirit at Atlanta’s largest outdoor ice skating rink! Skate the Station returns on Friday, Nov. 18 and all are invited to skate under the stars. Skate the Station tickets are on sale now and rentals are included in each purchase. Skaters can enjoy this holiday tradition now through Monday, Jan. 16. The skate shop will be decorated resembling a cozy ski lounge for guests to stay warm before hitting the ice rink and it will be located on 17th ½ St. next to the Safety & Security Office. Light the Station – On Saturday, Nov. 19, the community is invited to watch the lighting of the 50-foot Christmas tree on Atlantic Station’s central greenspace, Atlantic Green. The event includes live musical performances, Christmas crafts for the kids, a book reading by Tiny Doors founder Karen Anderson Singer and more! At 7 p.m., break out your best dance moves in the Holiday Disco Parade that will flow through Atlantic Station and will lead to the magical tree lighting in Atlantic Green. Celebration at the Station – Each night from Sunday, Nov. 20 through Tuesday, Jan. 2, gather around the spectacular Christmas tree at Atlantic Green to experience dazzling celebration with a light and snow show transforming the Station into a winter wonderland. Atlantic Stations Holiday Fashion Show- Unwrap the magic of ATL on Thursday, Dec. 8  from 6 – 9 p.m. at the Atlantic Station Holiday Fashion show benefiting The Alzheimer’s Association, featuring the best holiday looks by Atlantic Station retailers and exclusive brands. Make sure to grab a seat on the patio or balcony for dinner at one of the delicious restaurants on Atlantic Green to watch from West District Avenue. This private event will be held on the Atlantic Green. 

Christmas Eve Makers Market – Maker’s Market is open on Saturday, Dec. 24 for any last-minute holiday shopping from 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. featuring Atlanta’s most talented creators. Guests can shop from an array of local vendors with items for sale, including art, home decor, jewelry, candles and more. Wrap up your holiday shopping with a unique gift for someone special! Atlantic Station Menorah Lighting – Join Chabad Intown to celebrate Hanukkah with the traditional ceremony of the lighting of the Menorah on Tuesday, Dec. 20. From 6 – 7 p.m., family and friends can enjoy holiday-themed activities on Atlantic Green featuring traditional food and beverage offerings, live music, free giveaway items and more. Buckhead Gathering Spot Returns with Sleigh Bells Ringing and

Festive Food, Drinks, Ambiance, and More

Buckhead is even cheerier thanks to the return of The Blind Elf Holiday Pop-Up Bar. The Blind Pig Parlour Bar has temporarily transformed into a magical gathering spot guaranteeing sleigh loads of merriment throughout the holidays.

Guests enter a festive wonderland of over-the-top décor and twinkling lights to discover a variety of warm and chilly holiday-themed drinks, candy cane shots, beer, wine, and bubbles to ensure a spirited mood. Highlights of the Instagram-worthy drink menu include:

  • Sugar Plum Fairy – gin, lemon juice, Chandon, and pink fairy dust
  • Rudolph’s So Bitter – Campari, Antica, vodka, raspberry cordial, and lime juice
  • Feliz Navidad – mezcal, brown sugar molasses, cinnamon, nutmeg, and orange zest
  • Nog-Gonna Make It to Work Tomorrow – eggnog, toasted almond orgeat, and Black Barrel rum
  • Cran’ma Got Run Over by a Reindeer – rye, lemon juice, rosemary-cranberry syrup
  • Ski Lift – scotch, malted hot cocoa, and flaming mini marshmallows

Inspired by 1970s dinner party classics, The Blind Elf’s food menu is as festive as the cocktails. Guests will enjoy cheese fondue served with garlic focaccia, green apples, and broccoli along with a selection of savory and sweet bites that pair perfectly with the drinks. Among these are:

  • Reindeer chips and dip with house-made French onion dip with chips and veggies
  • Beer-battered mushrooms with herb-horseradish cream
  • Pigs in a Blanket with sweet Buffalo mustard
  • Brie bruschetta with Granny Smith apple and walnut jam
  • Maple-glazed bacon-wrapped dates
  • Sweets such as peppermint bark brownie and butterscotch-peanut butter haystack

The Blind Elf Experience ($54 plus gratuity and tax) features two cocktails and two food items per person. The Blind Elf, located at 128 East Andrews Dr., NE in Atlanta, is open at 5 p.m. Wednesdays-Sundays through Thursday, Nov. 24, and seven days a week starting at 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 25-Friday, Dec. 30. Buckhead Village is decking the halls this holiday season with an abundance of new and returning holiday activities, inviting guests to reunite with annual favorites like The German American Cultural Foundation’s German Christkindl Market & a performance from the Atlanta Ballet 2 and explore a variety of exciting offerings like a new Holidays in Technicolor event series, festive pop-ups and more.

The property will celebrate the merriest time of year as it transforms into an abstract winter wonderland decked with sparkling globes, illuminated trees and fresh eucalyptus garland. Dashing happenings will abound all season long, including:

Buckhead Village will transform into a music- and dance-inspired holiday nirvana, inviting the community to enjoy magical performances by the Atlanta Ballet 2, presenting selections from classics like The Nutcracker and Snow White plus other contemporary works. Selected by audition from all over the world, Atlanta Ballet 2 represents the highest level of training in the Atlanta Ballet Centre for Dance Education. 

Cozy up alongside fire pits in the open-air space across from Le Bilboquet to enjoy the performances. Performances will be free and open to the public – no tickets required.

Create new traditions with Buckhead Village’s Holidays in Technicolor event series, set to transform The Veranda into a whimsical Christmas Tree-scape with the help of renowned and decorated florist Canaan Marshall of HBO Max’s “Full Bloom.” One of the city’s most anticipated photo ops of the season, the technicolor wonderland will don an array of traditional flocked Christmas trees mixed with contemporary painted trees adorned with cozy lighting, unique jewel-tones, dramatic ornaments and bows, lifesize ornaments throughout the space, a dusting of snow throughout The Veranda and other colorful, themed accents.

The series will also kick off with the unveiling of a new mural by Hvass&Hannibal, a Copenhagen design studio, that will debut the artist’s signature style along with a rich color scheme that seamlessly blends with the jewel toned hues from Marshall’s enchanted wonderland.

Stop by to experience a revolving door of family-friendly activities and crafts like ornament and cookie decorating, appearances throughout the day from Stylish Santa, Lilac Wine, Tinsletone Carolers and snowglobe ballerinas, plus restaurant specials and in-store events from shops around the property. Seasonal treats from Saint Germain Bakery, Georgetown Cupcakes, Bella Cucina, Shake Shack and The Southern Gentleman will be available with donation to the Atlanta Ballet.

Next up in Buckhead Village’s Curated Series, a series of bespoke workshops for the creative and curious, is a wreath-making workshop with Le Jardin Français. Under the impeccable direction of floral extraordinaire Marie-Laure Coste-Dujols, attendees will embark on a journey to master the art of French floral design and create inspired holiday wreaths using the season’s best materials. Hosted on Buckhead Avenue, Buckhead Village has partnered with Livable Buckhead to kick off a community tree decorating event set to transform Buckhead Village’s streets into a forest of fully-decorated Christmas trees that will remain on display throughout the weekend before they are donated to the Atlanta Fire Rescue Foundation to spread this season’s holiday cheer. The event will take place from noon to 3pm, alongside festivities from the day’s Holidays in Technicolor event that will continue until 6pm. Buckhead Avenue will be closed on Sat., Dec. 3 for this event.

In addition to donning this season’s pines with festive lights, cards and fire truck ornaments, attendees can enjoy s’mores by the fire pits, festive blooms from Gussied Up Flower Truck, kid-friendly ornament decorating stations, live street art from Atlanta-based chalk muralist Jessi Queen, a vintage photo booth from Atlanta Photo Camper and holiday performances by Xiamara (noon-2pm), Tinsletone Carolers (2-6pm), Tune Union (3-6pm) and Stylish Santa (noon-4pm). Seasonal treats including hot chocolate from Saint Germain Bakery and bites from Georgetown Cupcakes will be available with donation to the Atlanta Fire Rescue Foundation.

SKATE THE SKY:

 

Opening Fri., Nov. 26 – Back for a fifth year, The Roof at Ponce City Market invites guests to “Skate the Sky.” Ten stories above Ponce de Leon Avenue, the Rooftop Terrace will feature a 3,500-square-foot ice skating rink open seven days a week. Skaters can also enjoy unlimited games and rides at Skyline Park while donning a faux fur coat provided by The Roof. Ice skating is $15 for adults and children (plus admission to The Roof). Reservations will be available beginning November 1 and include 50 minutes of skating, ice skate rentals and unlimited gameplay at Skyline Park. Skaters must be at least five years of age to skate, and individuals under 12 must be accompanied by an adult skater. Hours for the rink will be the same as The Roof’s regular operating hours, available here.

 

IGLOOS ON THE ROOF:

 

Opening Fri., Nov. 26 – Cozy up this holiday season in private igloos on Ponce City Market’s Roof, located alongside the ice-skating rink and at 9 Mile Station! Rink-side igloos will be open weekdays beginning at 3pm for guests 21+. On Saturdays and Sundays from 11:30am-1:30pm and 2pm-4pm, families can enjoy the igloos. Guests 21+ can enjoy food and beverages – think hot cocktails and champagne – and all rink-side igloo guests will have access to general admission to The Roof, skate rentals, 50 minutes of skate time and unlimited games and rides at Skyline Park (when available). At 9 Mile Station, the restaurant will transform into a woodland forest with cozy igloos overlooking the skyline of Atlanta. Available for guests 21+, the restaurant igloos will offer full-service dining, plus general admission to The Roof and unlimited games and rides at Skyline Park (when available). NOON YEAR’S EVE ON THE ROOF:

 

Fri., Dec. 31, 10am-3pm – Save the date for The Roof’s annual Noon Year’s Eve celebration! Skyline Park will host a family-friendly celebration for parents and children of all ages to ring in 2022 as guests count down to noon. Tickets are $15 for all ages (3 years and under are free) and can be pre-purchased online here or at the door.

A Haunted Holiday Returns December 14 Featuring a Scary Full Production Haunted House Fueled with Yuletide Horror + A Lights on Tour of NETHERWORLD Debuts December 28th – The Behind-the-Scenes Event Fans Have Been Asking For!

The twisted minds behind America’s top-rated haunt, NETHERWORLD Haunted House, are gearing up for two incredible special events this December. On Saturday, December 14, A Haunted Holiday will feature a yuletide takeover of NETHERWORLD’s 2019 main attraction, NIGHT OF THE GORGON, a festive holiday midway, a gift shop filled with creepy seasonal goodies, and a special laser tag event called MUTANT MADNESS that will be held inside of the COLD BLOODED haunt. Then, for the first time in their new Stone Mountain location on Saturday, December 28, NETHERWORLD will reopen for a Lights on Tour featuring both NIGHT OF THE GORGON and COLD BLOODED. It will be a never-before-seen look behind the curtain of the nation’s most legendary haunted attraction and the ultimate gift for any haunt fanatic!

First up on Saturday, December 14, NETHERWORLD presents A Haunted Holiday! Six guests will enter the attraction and will be led on a rope by a ghostly spirit through a full production of NIGHT OF THE GORGON featuring seasonally inspired monsters, holiday themed scenes, and perhaps most importantly… only one group will occupy a given space at a given time! Then, unexpectedly, your guide will vanish, leaving your group to survive the last portion of the haunt without their protection! This carefully paced event is a great way to experience the house without the larger crowds you might encounter during October. Once you exit the attraction you will be able to enjoy NETHERWORLD’s holiday themed midway and gift shop chock full of great Christmas gifts for the lover of spooky things in your life.

This night also features a separately ticketed event called MUTANT MADNESS. Guests will enter the COLD BLOODED attraction armed with advanced laser tag equipment and blast their way through hideous creatures on a quest to see who will get the best score.  But it’s not that easy – when the monsters attack, you need to blast them fast or they can damage your weapon and knock you out of the game. Tickets for MUTANT MADNESS are $15 each and will only be available in the NETHERWORLD Gift Shop on a first come, first served basis. Individual tickets for A Haunted Holiday are $25.95 online.  If any tickets remain, they will be available at the door for $28. Next month at December’s Night Market, The Home Depot Backyard will be taken over by the smells, sounds and bright colors of a globally inspired market, featuring Atlanta’s top culinary talent, live music, and a colorful array of artisan vendors to kick off the holiday season. Crackling fire pits will invite guests to cozy up where they can enjoy the evening under the stars sipping cocktails and shopping the curated market for the perfect gift. Located in the heart of downtown Atlanta outside of Mercedes-Benz Stadium, the market offers visitors the chance to experience all the international feel and fun without the trouble of fitting their gifts and treats in their suitcase.

CITY WINERY ATLANTA HOLIDAY EVENTS 2019

City Winery, the restaurant, urban winery, private event space and intimate music venue, has released its December lineup of culinary and beverage events at the popular Atlanta location in Ponce City Market. Atlantans and visitors alike can take advantage of an array of mouthwatering opportunities including plenty of wine sampling opportunities to enjoy on cold winter nights.

On December 10th, Atlanta can visit the Tasting Room at City Winery for Lift Your Spirits, An Elevated Tasting Featuring Compass Box Scotch. Guests will enjoy Limited Edition Blended Single Malt Scotch Whisky from Compass Box. Compass Box is based on the lost model of the Scotch whisky blending house.

On December 17th, Atlanta can visit the Tasting Room at City Winery for Lift your Spirits, An Elevated Tasting Featuring ASW Distillery. With family roots in Ireland, France and England and more locally in Athens Georgia, Jim Chasteen, Charlie Thompson and Justin Manglitz, began ASW Distillery because of their passion for spirits “crafted with character”. The range of whiskies demonstrates individuality and true whiskey craftmanship.

On December 19th, Atlanta can visit City Winery for City Winery Explorer Series Featuring Wines of Casa Rojo Winery. At Casa Rojo, wine is seen as the expression of a family, a land, a climate, and ultimately of an origin. Wines will be tasted from the varied regions throughout Spain.

Atlanta can visit City Winery on December 21st for City Winery’s Holiday Cookie Decorating Party. Guests will receive a choice of hot chocolate or mulled wine, cookies and decorating materials. Wine tastings will also be offered, and City Winery wines will be available for purchase. Cheese and charcuterie will be provided.

Stanky Wine, a Dirty South Hip Hop Natural Wine Bar pop-up, will throw The Stanky Stomp, a Day-Time Dance Party on December 22nd at City Winery. This day-time dance party will feature tastings of 25 wines, small bites, and a live DJ.

On December 23rd, City Winery will explore holiday wine pairings with classic foods of the season during City Winery Holiday Wine Pairing. City Winery chefs will prepare traditional holiday dishes while Sommeliers will explain how to enhance meals with ideal wine pairings. This will be a great opportunity for guests to make new friends and get an early start to the Holiday season.
