Halloween weekend isn’t over yet! For those celebrating the spookiest time of year all weekend long, NETHERWORLD Haunted House is keeping the screams alive for two more weekends – Nov. 1–2 and Nov. 7–8 – giving fans one last chance to experience the blockbuster 2025 haunts: MONSTERS ATTACK! and OBLIVION: RETURN OF THE MANGLERfeaturing GRENDEL’S FEAST.

The scares don’t stop once guests exit the haunts – the Halloween Midway will also be open on the final nights, featuring monster meet-and-greets, creepy photo ops, spooky games, and fan-favorite snacks like mini donuts, nachos, bratwurst, vegan corn dogs, and “Blood Bags” filled with drinkable concoctions. For those craving more year-round thrills, visitors can also check out Escape the NETHERWORLD, featuring five immersive escape games, or explore the House of Creeps Monster Museum for a dose of horror history and movie memorabilia. 

And for the first time ever, NETHERWORLD will also offer a special Lights-On Tour day experience during the final weekend on Nov. 7 and 8, inviting guests to explore the attraction in a whole new way. The behind-the-scenes tour offers an intimate, 75-minute guided walk through both haunts, allowing fans to see the sets, creatures, and effects up close – without the screams, fog, and flashing lights. Each tour includes a knowledgeable guide, photo opportunities inside the haunts, and admission to the House of Creeps Monster Museum.

“We wanted to do something special to wrap up this incredible season,” said Ben Armstrong, NETHERWORLD Co-Creator. “The Lights-On Tours let guests step into the haunts in a much more personal way – you can take your time, see the details, ask questions, and really appreciate the artistry behind everything. It’s a perfect encore for anyone who’s already visited this year or just wants one last taste of Halloween.” 

Lights On Tour tickets are $125 per person and extremely limited, with groups of up to eight people per session. Advance purchase is strongly encouraged. Guests should note that Lights-On Tours are separate from evening haunt admission and do not include access to the fully operational haunted house during nighttime hours.

This Labor Day Weekend, the streets of downtown Atlanta will tremble as NETHERWORLD Haunted House brings its legion of monsters to Dragon Con. From grotesque new fiends and fan-favorite creatures to an elaborate parade float brimming with terror, NETHERWORLD will once again fuse fright and fantasy as it kicks off its 29th Season of Screams in spine-chilling style.

As the sponsor of Dragon Con’s Horror Track programming, NETHERWORLD will be present all weekend with a booth located on the Marquis level of the Atlanta Marriott Marquis. This fall, the gates of NETHERWORLD Haunted House burst open once again for its 29th Season of Screams, cementing its reign as one of America’s most iconic haunted attractions. Opening Friday, Sept. 19 and running for 35 chilling nights through early November, the 2025 season promises to be NETHERWORLD’s most ambitious and immersive yet.
 
Known nationwide for its blockbuster-quality special effects, elaborate sets, and Hollywood-worthy creatures, NETHERWORLD ups the ante in 2025 with two massive, haunted attractions. Visitors will plunge headlong into the classic monster chaos of MONSTERS ATTACK!, then descend into the eerie depths of a dark double feature: the viscerally terrifying horror of OBLIVION: RETURN OF THE MANGLER and the grotesque carnival nightmares of GRENDEL’S FEAST.

MONSTERS ATTACK!: Savage werewolves created by ancient alchemy, massive robotic war machines built with magic-infused science, and Frankensteinian creations fueled by primordial energy battle vampiric hordes, undying behemoths and a vast army of reanimated corpses in a battle royale. Led by the half-man, half-machine leader of the Brotherhood, Anton Varla, and his greatest creation, Cronus, the cursed town of Whyshburg struggles to hold off the attack and launch a doomsday missile to destroy the NETHERWORLD gate forever. Dragon Con fans are in for a serious fright this Labor Day Weekend, courtesy of NETHERWORLD Haunted House! With haunt season on the horizon, NETHERWORLD once again returns to Dragon Con, bringing its cast of ghoulish creatures, realistic costumes, Halloween spirit, and an elaborate float for the convention’s annual parade.
 
NETHERWORLD Haunted House is proud to participate in Dragon Con’s horror track, the convention’s home for twisted tales and dark fantasy, featuring a nightmarish lineup of panels, topics, and guests. The haunted house team will have a booth set up on the Marquis level of the Atlanta Marriott Marquis for the entire weekend where they will be recruiting actors, taking photos with attendees, offering discounts for Escape the Netherworld, and sharing additional information about this year’s terrifying haunts.
 
NETHERWORLD will also feature multiple vehicles in the iconic parade, including an over-the-top float. Parade onlookers will be the first to see some of the creepy new characters debuting with this year’s haunt themes, WAKE THE DEAD and MR. GRENDEL’S BIRTHDAY PARTY OF HORRORS, in addition to NETHERWORLD’s iconic classic characters.

The Latest Room at NETHERWORLD’s Year-Round Attraction Is Now Open!
 

Celebrating its 6-year anniversary, Escape the NETHERWORLD is launching an intense new, over-the-top, space-themed escape room! Fans of NETHERWORLD Haunted House and its world-class attractions can now book this exciting experience along with the other Escape Games available at the facility. Titled Alien Terror: The Doom of the Dark Horizon, this intricate escape room will feature the complex puzzles, realistic props, and jaw-dropping special effects that the NETHERWORLD brand and Escape the NETHERWORLD have become notorious for.
 
After purchasing 10 acres of property in Stone Mountain in 2017, the team behind NETHERWORLD Haunted House knew they wanted to expand beyond haunted attractions and into the popular new world of escape rooms. The initial launch featured three games followed by a fourth in 2019 with a variety of themes designed to challenge and entertain both novices and experts. Created for groups of 4 to 8 players, Haunted: Curse of the Night Hag and Sasquatch: Bigfoot’s Revenge are challenging enough for everyone to enjoy with Tiki Island: Attack of the Shark God and Nosferatu: Van Helsing’s Secret upping the complexity just enough to give players an even greater challenge. Escape the NETHERWORLD is widely renowned for escape rooms that feature both intricate and challenging gameplay in addition to incredibly detailed sets and elaborate twists and turns that completely immerse guests into the game. Alien Terror: Doom of The Dark Horizon: You have booked a passage on a deep space mining vessel to experience the ultimate thrill – navigating the event horizon of a massive black hole! Awakening from a long slumber, you discover the crew is missing, the ship is experiencing massive failures and some sort of THING is lurking in the darkness hounding your every move! Will you be able to escape the doomed ship before it is pulled into the swirling gravity vortex – or will you meet the same horrible fate as the rest of the crew?

The most highly-acclaimed and terrifying haunted house in the nation, NETHERWORLD Haunted House, is set to make its return during its Opening Weekend this Friday, Sept. 23 and Saturday, Sept. 24 with two nightmarish haunts and plenty of thrilling new additions to its Halloween themed Midway!

This year, thrill seekers will get the scare of their lives at NETHERWORLD’S PARASITIC and THE UNDYING HORROR haunted houses. In THE UNDYING HORROR, visitors will try to escape a massive world-destroying ancient monster and its wraithlike army, and in PARASITIC, guests will confront the mind-controlling spores and carnivorous chlorophyll creatures unleashed by a nefarious plant-based life form filled with the twisted power from last year’s Planet X!

“Both of our haunts this year blend elements of our previous stories into brand new tales, even more intense than the ones that came before them,” said NETHERWORLD Co-Founder Ben Armstrong. “The UNDYING HORROR is a continuation of the COSMIC HORROR saga that began when we first moved to Stone Mountain, and PARASITIC is a story of science gone wrong that features weird plant-based mutations of one of our classic characters, The Harvestman.”

Between the houses, NETHERWORLD has a new option for those who want to join in on the fright called “You Scare.” In this experience, true horror-lovers will get their shot at playing the villain by using a paintball gun, dubbed the “scare blaster,” to shoot paint at an unbreakable see-through barrier, startling those in line for the second haunted house.

In addition to both blood-curling haunts and “You Scare,” NETHERWORLD is launching a laser-based horror survival add-on experience for the first time ever. Titled “Alien Terror,” the experience will put NETHERWORLD adventurers face-to-face with an extraterrestrial monster that has one goal: to turn every player in the game into one of its evil minions with its laser weapon. The official opening date for this experience is to be announced, so stay tuned for more information!

The adventure continues with NETHERWORLD’s updated Midway experience, a Halloween-drenched area that attendees can explore featuring a myriad of creepy photo ops (including a huge new skeletal dragon), roaming creatures aplenty, and a variety of food options including hot dogs, nachos, demented donuts, and gourmet popcorn in flavors like classic butter and hot and spicy. This year NETHERWORLD is also introducing Dr. Octane’s Bizarre Beverages, where the sinister mad scientist Dr. Octane will serve up non-alcoholic bubbling concoctions featuring swirls of colors perfect for a share-worthy video!

Kicking off the start of the official haunt season, NETHERWORLD Haunted House will once again bring its terrifying monsters, elaborate costumes, and an over-the-top parade float to the annual Dragon Con. Known as the largest multimedia pop culture convention in the world, Dragon Con draws thousands of fans of comic books, sci-fi, cosplay and gaming to Atlanta each year for a five-day event that brings their favorite characters and fantasy worlds to life. This year’s Dragon Con will take place from Thursday, Sept. 1 through Monday, Sept. 5, spanning through Labor Day weekend.
 
NETHERWORLD has played a significant role in Dragon Con every year since its creation in 1997, including acting as a sponsor for the official Dragon Con Parade broadcast on WUPA-TV, Atlanta’s CW-69. Taking place this Saturday, Sept. 3 from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., this will be the first time the parade is operating without Covid restrictions since 2019, and the excitement is high among fans and regular spectators.
 
In addition to sponsoring the televised broadcast of the parade, NETHERWORLD is also bringing the element of horror. NETHERWORLD CELEBRATES 25 YEARS OF SCREAMS – EXTENDED TWO WEEKS!

It’s not too late to get your scare on at NETHERWORLD Haunted House during its 25th Season of Screams! America’s favorite haunted house for over two decades is continuing the frightening fun for two more weekends in November. Both haunts, RISE OF THE NETHERSPAWN and RETURN TO PLANET X in 3D, will be open on Nov. 5-7 and Nov. 12-13. Haunt fans, the scariest season of the year has arrived! NETHERWORLD Haunted House officially returns for its 25th year of next-level thrills and chills. Opening this weekend, only the bravest souls will experience the unforgettable pulse-pounding horror featured in two brand-new haunts, RISE OF THE NETHERSPAWN and RETURN TO PLANET X in 3D, from co-creators Billy Messina and Ben Armstrong.

“This milestone is one that not only are we proud of, we’re also grateful to all the guests near and far who have experienced NETHERWORLD the last 25 years,” said Armstrong. “This year has us looking back and celebrating our history with some of our classic characters from years past combined with new themes featuring brand new monsters and intriguing storylines, all housed in our two massive and immersive haunts. We can’t wait to welcome everyone to the 2021 season!”

RISE OF THE NETHERSPAWN:
Fulfilling the wishes of The Collector, a primordial monster known as The Ganoga will summon the twins, FEAR and TERROR, to lead an invasion of hideous creatures from the NETHERWORLD! Bone-crunching Berserkers and flesh-rending Rabid lead the charge, hidden deep within the swirling mists and flashing lightning of a colossal storm of shadows! Will the maelstrom conceal the crawling horrors from their helpless victims, or will they glimpse the RISE OF THE NETHERSPAWN in time to flee for their lives?

Featuring: The Storm of Shadows, Trapped in the Wreckage, the Fisherman’s Nightmare, Eaten by the Old Ones, the Collector’s Crypt, the Starving Skull, the Jaws of Fate, the Swamp of the Lost, the Maggots of Madness, the Rage of the Rabid, the Berserkers Revenge, the Goblin Horde, the Court of the Warlord and the Soul Eater Unleashed! Twenty-five years of never-ending nightmares culminates in this apocalyptic festival of destruction as guests witness the RISE OF THE NETHERSPAWN!

RETURN TO PLANET X:
In the secret base known as the BOX, an experiment gone wrong has broken down the very fabric of time and space releasing bizarrely colorful mutagenic energy through dimensional gateways all over the facility! Weird, malevolent life forms stalk victims throughout the complex and the very fabric of reality is crumbling. Exobiologist, Dr. Otto Gloman, has gone into the rift equipped with a powered space suit, to stop the horror and force it to RETURN TO PLANET X in 3D! Guests will put on special 3D glasses and help him defeat this bizarre invasion before it consumes the entire planet.

Featuring: The Ghastly Gloaming, the Horror of the Hunes, the Malevolent Mutations, the Power of the Pyramid, the Secrets of the Serpent Men, the Paradox of Planet X, the Revenge of the Reptilians, the Primal Polymorphs, the Color Out of Space, the Mega Xeno Arthropod and the Nightmares from Beyond Time! Those who are brave enough to join the daunting mission will be pressured to retain a fragile grip on reality while viewing this world of horror through 3D glasses as they RETURN TO PLANET X.

Recently dubbed “scariest haunted house” by Oprah Magazine for the second year in a row, NETHERWORLD has built a loyal cult-following over the past 25 years and is beloved for its Hollywood-quality special effects, cutting-edge themes, elaborate sets, and nightmare-inducing monsters. In 2018, the team planted roots in Stone Mountain on a 10+ acre property, allowing room for expansion beyond the seasonal haunts. Enjoy a Behind the Scenes Lights On Tour of NETHERWORLD Between Dec. 26 and Jan. 3

Spooky season might be over, but NETHERWORLD Haunted House is keeping the thrills going with an exclusive Lights On Tour, a VIP behind-the-scenes experience designed for the most diehard haunt fanatics. Between Dec. 26 and Jan. 3, NETHERWORLD will reopen for a Lights On Tour guiding guests through HALLOWEEN NIGHTMARES and CYBORG SHOCK for a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

“After such a crazy year, we’re thrilled to bring another pop-up experience to our fans,” said Ben Armstrong, NETHERWORLD Haunted House co-creator. “This is the third time we’ve hosted our Lights On Tour, and for haunt fanatics, it’s an experience not to be missed. So much goes into creating and developing our haunts, and these tours offer an inside look patrons would never get to see during normal haunt visits. Just in time for the holidays, this experience is the perfect holiday gift for the haunt fanatic in your life!”

During this tour, the lights will be on, and the effects will be off, as guests are toured through all the sets by a knowledgeable guide and immersed into the rich history of NETHERWORLD. Tickets are available now, but extremely limited, for $125 per person and include:

  • A one-hour tour of HALLOWEEN NIGHTMARES and CYBORG SHOCK with a well-versed guide who will cover the themes, operations and history behind the attractions
  • Exclusive photo opportunities at preset locations inside the haunts
  • Admission to the House of Creeps Monster Museum

Each tour group has a maximum of six people allowed. If a group is larger than six, two separate time slots will need to be booked. Tours are offered Fridays and Saturdays from 2:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays from 2:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. To check availability and purchase tickets, click here.
