Situated in the heart of Buckhead’s shopping district, Shops Around Lenox is inviting Atlantans and visitors alike to explore, celebrate and purchase works from an array of local artists during its new summer pop-up gallery series. Kicking off Saturday, June 12, 2021, the art-infused, summer series will be held twice a month on June 12th and 26th, July 10th and 24th, and August 8th and 21st and feature live music, cocktails, bites and more. Each pop-up gallery event will showcase new artists and will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Shops Around Lenox’s Pop-Gallery is free to attend and ages are welcome.
For the first pop-up gallery on June 12th, attendees will be treated to works from seven dynamic Georgia artists. Eanaj Janae, who recently relocated to Georgia, creates beautiful and colorful art that cultivates and normalizes body positivity and awareness to colorism, while K. Ross, an established abstract fine artist, gains new inspiration from the rich southern culture and hospitality of Georgia. Abstract painter Melissa Ewing focuses on fluid art with an emphasis on bold colors and abstract patterns inspired by water, sunsets and flowers. Artist R.D. Simmons creates mixed medium art pieces inspired by nature, impactful events , and common human experiences and emotions. Creating beauty and joy through color and texture, Rhonda Coleman’s layers paint, paper, and fabric to evoke depth and interest. Reflecting how she sees the world, Sara B. Yoder’s work is colorful, exciting and a bit childlike. Finally, with a theme of passion, power and perpetuity, Shellton LaBron’s surrealist and conceptual works of art are bold and energetic.
