Soak up the final moments of summer fun at Atlantic Station! As back-to-school season steadily approaches, the Heart of Atlanta is the place to be for a vibrant lineup of events this August. Start back-to-school shopping at Atlantic Station’s annual eSTEAM Fair, unwind with a rejuvenating yoga class on the Atlantic Green and rock out to ‘80s cover bands with Throwback Thursdays. From family-friendly activities to lively entertainment, Atlantic Station has something for everyone this month.

The Creator’s Market is back, bringing unstoppable creativity to Atlantic Station, featuring a special market on Friday, Aug. 2, from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Shop locally and celebrate Atlanta’s artisans every Saturday (11 a.m. to 9 p.m.) and Sunday (12 p.m. to 7 p.m.) in August with festive art, jewelry, couture and more, all while supporting the makers of the South. Explore more details here.

Thursday, August 1: WINE & CONVERSATION WITH VIVO
Located at Vivo | 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Experience an engaging evening at Vivo’s next Wine & Conversations series, featuring a special book reading and discussion. This event will highlight Samuel Kolawole, author of “The Road to the Salt Sea,” in conversation with Deepa Varadarajan, author of “Late Bloomers.” Kolawole’s acclaimed work has been published in prestigious outlets such as AGNI, Georgia Review, Harvard Review and Image Journal. He has also received numerous residencies and fellowships, was a finalist for the Graywolf Press African Fiction Prize and was shortlisted for the UK’s The First Novel Prize. Saturday, August 3: “IT ENDS WITH US” FLOWER TRUCK POP UP

Located at Regal Atlantic Station | 11 a.m.   
All aboard! Moviegoers of all ages are invited to the Summer Movie Express at Regal Atlantic Station to enjoy a great selection of family-friendly movies for only $1. Regal Atlantic Station will offer two PG movies every Tuesday and Wednesday at 11 a.m. through Aug. 7. Guests can also purchase a specially priced $5 Snack Pack, which includes a junior-sized drink, snack-sized popcorn and fruit snacks with an optional $3 Dippin’ Dots add-on. Relive the nostalgia of the ‘80s with Atlantic Station’s “Throwback Thursdays,” a new series presented by Star 94.1 FM. Get ready to groove to the era’s iconic music with a performance by the popular cover band The Geek Squad, while enjoying themed drinks and delicious food for purchase. “Throwback Thursdays” will take place every third Thursday of the month, running through Oct. 17. Join Atlanta Wine Festivals for their annual Atlanta Summer Wine Fest with 50+ wines, small beer selection, live music, and DJ Q-Tip. Newest Pop-Up at The Blind Pig Parlour Bar Boasts Nostalgic Delights with Small Plates, Crafty Cocktails, and More

Atlantans are cordially invited to experience a summer-long “Beach Ball” at The Blind Flamingo, the latest pop-up experience from The Blind Pig Parlour Bar, beginning Friday, June 28. Inspired by the Apple TV series “Palm Royale,” The Blind Flamingo is a vibrant, retro paradise featuring nostalgic summer vibes. Guests will indulge in various small plates, desserts, and dazzling cocktails.

The Blind Flamingo boasts an enticing menu perfect for nibbling and sharing. Savory small plates include

  • slow-roasted pork belly with sweet-and-spicy glaze and pickled red onions
  • lobster ceviche with citrus-cured lobster, tomatoes, red onions, and cilantro
  • heirloom tomato caprese with Milton’s Cuisine & Cocktails Garden tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, basil pesto, and balsamic drizzle
  • strawberry shortcake and key lime dip served with graham crackers, animal crackers, and pineapple

The Blind Flamingo’s drink menu is as stunning as it is delicious. Guests will enjoy refreshing concoctions such as:

  • the show’s signature grasshopper (hold the insulin)
  • pink señoritas
  • Palm Beach punch
  • coconut rum mojito

The Blind Flamingo will be open Wednesday and Thursday from 5 p.m. to midnight, Friday and Saturday from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m., and Sunday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Reservations are strongly encouraged.

KICK OFF SUMMER WITH HALCYON’S JUNE EVENTS LINE-UP

Forsyth County’s premier mixed-use village invites the community to play, shop, dine and experience what’s new

Head to Halcyon in June for an exciting line-up of events. Kick off the month enjoying live music every weekend by local bands at Groovin’ on the Green; get your sweat on with fan-favorite Farm Animal Yoga; celebrate Father’s Day at the many restaurants and retailers; make fun crafts with your little ones and enjoy the summer sun at Cherry Street’s Tiki Street Pop Up Bar.

The full June events schedule is outlined below:

Groovin’ on the Green

Fridays and Saturdays in June from 6 – 9 p.m.

Celebrate the weekend by dancing and singing along to live musical performances on the  Village Green. Enjoy local bands across a variety of genres playing top hits. On the last Saturday of each month, Cherry Street Brewpub will host live music on its patio adjacent to the Village Green. Guests can treat themselves to a craft brew and groove to live music playing all around the village! Halcyon has an open container policy, however outside food or beverages are prohibited. Halcyon Kids Club

Wednesdays through October from 10 a.m. – noon

Preschoolers are invited to play and make new friends at Halcyon’s free Kids Club! Enjoy rotating activities each week ranging from arts and crafts, dance, animal encounters, story time, puppet shows, music and so much more. Themes and activities vary each week and will be announced on Halcyon’s Facebook page and Instagram stories. A parent or guardian is required to stay with each child during the event. 6/4 Mommy and Me Paint Portraits – Join MAKE[R] for an adorable “paint a portrait” session with your little ones! Just like the viral reel going around with husbands and wives painting each other’s portrait, you can now see how your little sees YOU! All supplies are provided for mommy and one child. 6/11 Make SLIME!! – Join MAKE[R] for a fun morning making SLIME!! Farm Animal Yoga

Saturday, June 8 at 9 and 10 a.m.

Mooove on over to Halcyon for Farm Animal Yoga, featuring live animals from North Georgia Wildlife Park! Treat your mind and body to a relaxing session of yoga appropriate for all skill levels, accompanied by adorable furry friends. Participants must bring their own yoga mat and are welcome to pause and take photos with the animals during the session. Tropical Nights Ladies Night Out

Tuesday, June 11 from 6 p.m. – 10 p.m.

Head to Halcyon for an incredible night of fun at Tropical Nights Ladies Night Out! Event tickets will include your first tropical cocktail (or mocktail), a DJ and dancing in the Green with Silverstar Productions, Salsa dancing lessons with a live band from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Eclipse di Luna, shopping and tropical cocktail specials, activities, games and giveaways as well as a 360 Photo Booth Fun. Every ticket holder will also be rewarded with a special code redeemable for a FREE facial courtesy of Clean Your Dirty Face Halcyon ($50 value) and fresh flower crowns will be available for purchase. Ties & Tutus Father’s Day Dance Party

Bourbon Babes Luau Night: Enjoy an immersive experience by sampling different styles of bourbon in Cherry Street’s tiki-themed oasis, all guided by Old Dominick distillery. Cherry Street has partnered with Lauren Preskitt of Southern Belle Bourbon and Women’s Whiskey Collective, bringing you a night to take your tastebuds on a journey through a variety of bourbons in a tropical setting. Whether you’re a bourbon enthusiast or simply curious, Cherry Street’s warm and welcoming atmosphere provides the ideal setting to forge meaningful connections. Wear your favorite Hawaiian shirt to the event to get entered into the giveaway!

We will have over 50 wines as well as a selection of local beer to choose from. There will be live music upstairs, DJ Q-Tip downstairs, and food will be available for purchase from City Winery. The wine list will be added to the website in the weeks prior to the event. Tickets are now on sale for $45 and will increase to $50 after August 1st and $60 at the door.
