‘TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE BY CIRQUE DU SOLEIL

Cirque du Soleil and Regions Bank Broadway in Atlanta announced today that tickets for Twas the Night Before by Cirque du Soleil will go on sale to the public on Thursday, July 25 at 10 a.m. Twas the Night Before by Cirque du Soleil will be the first Cirque du Soleil show to premiere on the Fox Theatre stage from Friday, Nov. 29 for a limited engagement of two weeks through Sunday, Dec. 15. ​ For exact days and times, visit broadwayinatlanta.com.

Performances Begin on Wednesday, Oct. 2 and Play for 3 Weeks through Sunday, Oct. 20 at the Fox Theatre

Disney Theatrical Group and Regions Bank Broadway in Atlanta announced today that tickets for the long-awaited return engagement of Disney’s The Lion King will go on sale to the public on Friday, June 21 at 10 a.m. ​ Atlanta’s most eagerly awaited return will once again leap onto the Fox Theatre stage on Wednesday, Oct. 2 for a limited engagement of 3 weeks through Sunday, Oct. 20. ​ The opening night is Thursday, Oct. 3 at 7:30 p.m.

In Atlanta, The Lion King will play multiple performances. For exact days and times, visit broadwayinatlanta.com. Extra Magic Packages, which include an excellent seat in the theater and show merchandise, are also available. The Broadway score features Elton John and Tim Rice’s songs from the Lion King animated film along with three new songs by John and Rice; additional musical material by South African Lebo MMark MancinaJay RifkinJulie Taymor and Hans Zimmer; and music from “Rhythm of the Pride Lands,” an album inspired by the original music in the film, written by Lebo M, Mark Mancina and Hans Zimmer.  The resulting sound of The Lion King is a fusion of Western popular music and the distinctive sounds and rhythms of Africa, ranging from the Academy Award®-winning song “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” to Lebo M’s rich choral numbers.

Elton John, Lebo M, and Hans Zimmer all collaborated on the 2019 version of the film, executive produced by Julie Taymor and Thomas Schumacher, which has gone onto extraordinary worldwide success.

The book has been adapted by Roger Allers, who co-directed the animated The Lion King feature, and Irene Mecchi, who co-wrote the film’s screenplay.  Other members of the creative team include:  Michael Curry, who designed the masks and puppets with Taymor, Steve Canyon Kennedy (sound design), Michael Ward (hair and makeup design), Anthony Lyn (associate director), Marey Griffith (associate choreographer), Clement Ishmael (music supervisor), Lisa Dawn Cave (production supervisor), Thomas Schlenk (general manager) and ARC/Mark Brandon, CSA (casting). Anne Quart serves as executive producer.

Cameron Mackintosh’s production of LES MISÉRABLES is written by Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg and is based on the novel by Victor Hugo. It has music by Claude-Michel Schönberg, lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer and original French text by Alain Boublil and Jean-Marc Natel, additional material by James Fenton and adaptation by Trevor Nunn and John Caird. Orchestrations are by Stephen Metcalfe, Christopher Jahnke and Stephen Brooker with original orchestrations by John Cameron. The production is directed by James Powell and Laurence Connor, designed by Matt Kinley inspired by the paintings of Victor Hugo, with costumes by Andreane Neofitou, additional costume designs by Christine Rowland and Paul Wills, lighting by Paule Constable, sound by Mick Potter, projections realized by Finn Ross, Jonathon Lyle and Fifty Nine Productions, musical staging by Geoffrey Garratt, music supervision by Stephen Brooker and James Moore, and casting by Tara Rubin Casting.


The LES MISÉRABLES tour stage management team is led by Ryan W. Gardner with Claire Farrokh and Hollis Duggans-Queenss.
