THREE PIECE SUITS TAKE TO THE GRIDIRON AT CHARITY FESTIVAL

TO SUPPORT MILITARY VETERANS AND SHELTER DOGS

ATLANTA, GA – Over 600 attendees are expected at the 9th annual charity event THREE PIECE SUIT FOOTBALL (TPSF), happening Saturday, February 4, 2017 at the athletic field of the Historic Fourth Ward Skatepark. The location is along Atlanta’s popular BeltLine urban trail, kickoff is set for 2 pm, and admission to the event is free.

The charity festival will feature food trucks, beer from Monday Night Brewing, face painting for kids, live music from Wasted Potential Brass Band, and a Frisbee dog halftime show by the Greater Atlanta Dog and Disc Club. The centerpiece of the fun-for-all-ages festival is a picture-worthy game of tackle football being played by men and women wearing three-piece suits.

The yearly event first began as a pickup game of football on the morning of the Super Bowl in 2009. “The first year, there were 14 of us playing and a handful of spectators,” explains TPSF president Cameron Miller. Attendance at the event increased each year, and after three years the players decided the game should be used as a platform to raise support for local charities. To date, TPSF has raised over $38,000 for various causes at these events. Miller continues, “It’s grown because people love football and the ridiculousness of witnessing the game being played in colorful, fancy suits. It captures the imagination.”

This year’s event benefits the Georgia chapter of Pets For Vets, who rescue and train shelter dogs and pair them with local military veterans who could benefit from a companion animal. Support is raised during the event through beer sales, prize raffles throughout the afternoon, donations, and a 50/50 raffle to cap it all off.

About THREE PIECE SUIT FOOTBALL: Three Piece Suit Football (TPSF) is dedicated to supporting veterans and American families by playing a game of football while wearing three-piece suits. The game originated in Atlanta in 2009 and is currently played in Atlanta and Boston. Our organization fosters a brotherhood and camaraderie amongst individuals who demonstrate the utmost respect for our veterans, the game, and each other. We leave it all on the field, seek to have an enjoyable time, and raise awareness and monetary donations for charity.
