About: Coming this weekend, Friday, May 13th to Sunday, May 15th comes Shaky Knees Music Festival to Centennial Olympic Park. Headliners include an array of acts like Jane’s Addiction, Deftones, Silversun Pickups, My Morning Jacket, and Florence and the Machine ensures there’s a little sometime for everyone. Beyond the music, there’s everything from food trucks, an international food court, to other experience, for example, at Dos Equis’ Feast of the Brave, festival-goers are invited to participate in a daring culinary challenge featuring incremental levels of interesting cuisine from their one-of-a-kind food truck. Food that Rocks Sandy Springs

About: It’s time to eat, drink and party with a purpose. The inaugural Food That Rocks, a Celebration of Sandy Springs, is set for Saturday, May 14, 2016, from 7pm – 11pm. For one night only, more than 20 of the best local restaurants will be rocking the big tent in the heart of Sandy Springs. This all-inclusive event will provide food, wine, beer and cocktail tastes, local musicians and benefit Sandy Springs-based charities Second Helpings, Ian’s Friends Foundation and the Georgia Ovarian Cancer Alliance. Atlanta, GA (May 10, 2016) – After much speculation, Imagine Music Festival, a 3-day camping electronic dance music festival in Atlanta, Georgia, has released that the Atlanta Motor Speedway will be the venue for its third annual event on August 26 through 28, 2016. Doubling in attendance each year, the rapid growth made it necessary for Imagine to move from its former home in the Historic Fourth Ward Park to the Atlanta Motor Speedway. Located on 887 acres and just 15 miles south of the airport, the landmark Atlanta site includes capacity for over 100,000 per day; grass fields for the festival’s new camping options; onsite parking; over 100 RV spaces with full hook-ups; premium RV spaces overlooking the festival grounds and more. In short, Atlanta Motor Speedway will provide Imagine Music Festival with the infrastructure and amenities yet to be seen by a music and camping festival of its size anywhere in the Southeast.

34th Annual Derby Day

About: On Sunday, May 7th, Break out your seersucker and big hats, because you’re invited to the 34th annual Derby Day on May 7 at Chastain Horse Park. Hosted by Shepherd Center’s Junior Committee, Derby Day brings the atmosphere of Churchill Downs to the heart of Buckhead. At Derby Day, you’ll enjoy live music by The Bama Gamblers, mint juleps, silent and live auctions, casino and lawn games, and a live broadcast of the most exciting two minutes in sports on multiple jumbotrons. All proceeds from the event benefit Shepherd Center’s Recreational Therapy program. This central part of the rehab process includes a wide range of activities such as music, the arts, and sports that aren’t covered by most insurance companies.
