6/26 – 6/30 & 7/2 – 7/7

Summerfest in Milwaukee, WI (6/26 – 6/30, 7/2 – 7/7) just announced that Lil Wayne, Snoop Dogg, and ScHoolboy Q will headline the American Family Insurance Amphitheater, closing out the festival on July 7, 2019.

Summerfest, the World’s Largest Music Festival will announce the full line up soon with over 800 acts spread out over 11 days and 12 stages.   Beyond its massive size (more than 800K in attendance last year), Summerfest works a little differently, making it the perfect festival for any music fan, and a cornerstone of summer entertainment in the Midwest. – “don’t expect a weekend of running from stage to stage, there are over 12 stages with sporadic, individual concerts featuring dynamic lineups to score tickets to, amalgamating into a total of 800 acts from major stars to local groups in just about every scene imaginable” (Thrillist).

Check out other announced headliners:
June 26: Thomas Rhett with Dustin Lynch
June 27: Outlaw Music Festival Tour: Willie Nelson & Family, Phil Lesh & Friends, The Avett Brothers, Counting Crows, Alison Krauss, Dawes, and Trapper Schoepp

“Summerfest holds the title as the biggest music festival in the world, and it takes this very seriously. They may run things a little differently — don’t expect a weekend of running from stage to stage — there are over 12 stages with sporadic, individual concerts featuring dynamic lineups to score tickets to, amalgamating into a total of 800 acts from major stars to local groups in just about every scene imaginable.”  –  The Ultimate Guide to 2019 Music Festivals Thrillist

The festival now in it’s 52nd year combines the best live music acts with our favorite parts of summer – food, family, and festivities.  With over 800,000 attendees last year, Summerfest is Milwaukee’s cornerstone summer celebration, hosting the music industry’s hottest stars, emerging talent and local favorites for an unforgettable live music experience.   The festivals largest stage ( American Family Insurance Amphitheater) is currently undergoing a $50 million renovation.

Historic Fourth Ward Park

Guests Can Also View the Fireworks Show from The Roof at Ponce City Market

In partnership with Old Fourth Ward Business Association, Ponce City Market is hosting the second annual “Fireworks in Fourth Ward” to celebrate the Fourth of July. Free and open to the public, the community event will be held across the street from Ponce City Market at Historic Fourth Ward Park from 5pm to 11pm.

Guests are invited to bring a picnic or enjoy bites from local vendors and food trucks, and King of Pops and Queen of Cream will also be serving frozen desserts. Local favorites including New Realm Brewing Company and Old Fourth Distillery will provide libations; wine, margaritas and a vodka punch will also be available for purchase (no outside alcohol is allowed). All beverage proceeds will directly benefit the Old Fourth Ward Business Association, whose mission is to create a safe and sustainable community environment for businesses and residents alike.

In the park, there will be live music from local Atlanta band Sucker Punch, covering hits from the 90’s and 00’s. Once the sun sets, the evening will culminate in a grand fireworks show, and DJ Q-Tip will be spinning a soundtrack coordinated with the display.

The Fourth of July fireworks show can also be seen from The Roof at Ponce City Market during their annual Fourth of July celebration. The kid-friendly event begins at 5pm and will have live entertainment, a DJ and activities for kids. There will be two ticket levels – VIP access and General Admission – for adults, and tickets for children will be offered at a lower price point. While space is available, guests can purchase walk-up tickets on July 4 for the evening fireworks show. Advance tickets will be available at www.poncecityroof.com.

Expected to draw several thousand people, attendees are encouraged to bike, walk or use a ride share service to travel to and from the event. Bike racks are located around the periphery at Historic Fourth Ward Park and at Ponce City Market, and pick-up points for Uber and Lyft users are available at Ponce City Market and adjacent to the park on the corner of Garden Park Drive and Rankin Street.

Ponce City Market restaurants and retail shops will be open during normal hours on July 4, from 10am to 9pm. Event sponsors include Ponce City Market, Skyline Park, Gas South, Atlanta Dream Center and Good2Grow.

Please note that no pets, scooters and bikes, drones, outside fireworks, weapons, grills or pop-up tents will be allowed inside the park during the event.
