Compass by Margaritaville is a tropical oasis amongst the mountains in Pigeon Forge, TN! John and I recently drove up to Pigeon Forge to waste away in the brand-new Compass paradise that is located in the heart of downtown! Not only is it just minutes from all the attractions, but it is also a slice of heaven with beach vibes from the moment you breeze through the front door.

In the lobby:

Enter into a stunning sun-soaked resort-style hotel with wicker basket lighting, cozy cabana lounge areas, lavish herringbone tile floors, and vibrant beach colors everywhere the eye can see. On top of that, they have lush tropical plants and palms, and a big compass right in the middle to remind you how many miles it is to the beach. The lobby also holds the 5 O’clock Somewhere Bar, a beautiful bar and lounge area with delicious food and nights with live music. Then, next to it is a large space for their complimentary full breakfast. Plus, they have a nook with games from arcade games, foosball, and shuffleboard.

In the rooms:

Take out your key card and open the door to paradise. You are greeted with a dock at sunset mural that sets the relaxing tone of the spacious room. To the right is the large bathroom with marble lined vanity and a large shower with rain shower head. In the room, the beds are comfy with an orange pillow that reminds you you’re a “wanderer.” The accent wall is a beachy teal blue and there is a pop or color from the orange chairs in the lounge area. You can walk out into the balcony for Mountain Views!

And all about amenities:

It doesn’t matter what time of year you visit, as the Compass has amenities for all seasons. For all seasons, their an indoor “waterpark” pool with splash pad and pirate decor is a family haven. As long as it isn’t freezing, there is also a large bubbly hot tub. In the summer, soak in the sun on the lazy river or lay under the margarita glass water feature in the main pool. And don’t forget about everything else from their large firepit area, a green waterslide that empties into the main pool and a yard for yard games and dining area!

Local Mathnasium Centers Brings the Joy of Cookies and Learning to Families in Atlanta Area

Mathnasium of Atlanta is excited to announce its partnership with Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta for National Girl Scout Cookie Weekend. On Saturday, February 22 and Sunday, February 23, Mathnasium Centers in the Atlanta Area will host special events to celebrate this partnership with Girl Scout cookie booths outside the centers. Families are invited to enjoy a variety of fun, interactive math activities while supporting local Girl Scout troops by purchasing cookies. This collaboration blends the beloved cookie tradition with Mathnasium’s mission to inspire a love of learning and help children develop their math skills in an engaging, hands-on environment. 

These events will feature a range of engaging activities designed to inspire fun and learning for the entire family: 

  • Smart Cookie Challenge & Raffle: Kids can put their estimating skills to the test by guessing the number of cookies in the jar, with the chance to win a delicious prize. 
  • Girl Scout-Themed Friendship Bracelets: Kids will get creative at the bracelet station, using number charms, Girl Scout-colored beads, and string to craft their own personalized designs. 
  • Cookie-Themed Activity Sheets: Engaging, problem-solving activities tailored to Girl Scout age groups will encourage kids to think critically while sharpening their math skills. 
  • Math Stations: Hands-on, interactive math stations will provide an exciting way for families to explore and strengthen their math skills in a fun, immersive setting.

  • Fraction Fun with Cookies: Use cookies to teach fractions by dividing them into halves, thirds, or quarters, allowing kids to share and learn how to combine fractions. 
  • Cookie Pattern Play: Create patterns using different cookies. Challenge children to identify or complete patterns, promoting an understanding of sequences and symmetry.

Roswell Music Festival Returns to Canton Street, April 26, 2025, with Headliner Drivin N Cryin

The highly anticipated Roswell Music Festival is set to return for its third year on Saturday, April 26, 2025, bringing an unforgettable day of live music, community spirit, and celebration to Historic Downtown Roswell. This year’s festival promises an incredible lineup, an expanded VIP experience, and continued philanthropic support for Shepherd’s Men, Hop On A Cure, and Rock for Rescues.

Leading this year’s festival is the legendary Southern rock band Drivin N Cryin, known for their timeless hits and high-energy performances. The Battery Atlanta invites the community to epic sports watch parties, themed trivia nights and live entertainment all February long. Football fans can stay glued to the game with the energy-filled “Big Game Bash” at Live! at The Battery Atlanta or opt for a more elevated watch party at BURN’s luxe viewing experience. Forsyth County’s premier mixed-use village invites the community to play, shop, dine and experience what’s new

Surround yourself with love and make new memories during Halcyon’s February events. Kick off the month by bringing your girls for the ultimate Gal’s Night Out benefiting Furkids, enjoy a variety of activities with friends and family at the annual Family Valentine’s Party and celebrate The Big Game and plan a romantic Valentine’s Day dinner with your loved one at one of Halcyon’s restaurants.

Gal’s Night Out

Thursday, February 6 from 6-10 p.m.

Grab your girls and join Halcyon for the sixth annual Gal’s Night Out benefitting Furkids!

Have a fun-filled night with your ladies enjoying Valentine-themed cocktails, sponsored by Tropical Distillery, and delicious appetizer specials at participating restaurants. Saturday, February 8 from noon-2 p.m.

Bring the whole family to the ultimate Valentine’s Party at Halcyon! Enjoy a variety of activities throughout the village, including a DJ dance party for all ages, a meet-and-greet with Mickey and Minnie lookalikes, Valentine’s crafts and fairy hair from Southern Sparkle Fairy Hair. Kids eat free for lunch at Cherry Street Brewpub with the purchase of an adult entree.   • Head to HOBNOB Neighborhood Tavern for $15 all-you-can-eat nachos (serves four people), $10 pitchers of house lager, a raffle entry with purchase (1 ticket per person) and a free shot after every fumble.
