TASTE OF ATLANTA ANNOUNCES 2018 FESTIVAL PROGRAMMING & ‘WORLD OF TASTE’ THEME FOR ALL-INCLUSIVE FRIDAY NIGHT KICKOFF PARTY

Taste of Atlanta, the city’s weekend-long food and drink festival celebrating the local restaurant scene on October 19, October 20 and October 21, announces “World of Taste” as the theme for its 2018 Friday Night Kickoff Party. On October 19 from 6:30pm to 11pm at Historic Fourth Ward Park, the all-inclusive kickoff event will be hosted by acclaimed Atlanta Chefs Archna Becker of Bhojanic, Eddie Hernandez of Taqueria del Sol and Hector Santiago of El Super Pan. The Taste of Atlanta festivities continue on Saturday and Sunday with local chefs and hospitality pros leading on-stage cooking demos and hands-on cooking classes, while guests sample craveable bites from more than 90 of Atlanta’s favorite restaurants, plus Georgia craft beer, wine and cocktails. THIRD ANNUAL BEST BURGER BATTLE ATLANTA

Fire up the grills! Lenox Square and Atlanta magazine will once again host Atlanta’s premier burger-cook off, Best Burger Battle, on Saturday, October 20! From 1-5 p.m., this annual event will host over two dozen of the best local burger joints for hungry guests to indulge in, as well as live music, wine, craft beer and Bulleit Bourbon. Restaurants aiming for the No. 1 title include reigning champion THERE Brookhaven, ATL Taco, Public Kitchen & Bar, Zinburger, Davio’s Northern Italian Steakhouse, Dixie Q, Shake Shack and more. Tickets are $50 and are all-inclusive.

BOOS AND BREWS 2018

Atlanta Beer Festivals hosts the 9th annual Boos and Brews on Saturday, Oct 27th from 8 pm – 2 am at Center Stage, The Loft, and Vinyl. Two DJs and a live band will be performing in the three separate spaces of the venue. This year there will be a General Admission ticket as well as a Beer Lovers ticket option. General Admission includes entry, entertainment and up to two drink tickets with entry before 9pm, You’ll receive two drink tickets with entry between 8 and 8:30 pm, one drink ticket with entry between 8:30 pm and 9 pm. All tickets must be used by 9:30 pm. Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 after October 19th, and $25 day of the event. The Beer Lovers Ticket includes all beer samples from 8 pm to 1 am and are $40 in advance, $45 after October 18th, and $55 the day of the event. Costume contests include “Best Male”, “Best Female”, “Best Couple,” and “Best Group” with Winter Beer Fest tickets as the prizes. We will also have a contest for “Best Costume” after the event on Facebook for $500 cash. The most Facebook ‘Likes’ wins the money.

CITY WINERY PRESENTS A DOWN HOME BREWING AUTUMN BEER PARTY

On Saturday, October 13th, City Winery is partnering with Down Home Brewing for an afternoon of fun on the urban winery’s expansive outdoor patio to celebrate the one-year anniversary of the brewery. While the Atlanta leaves are falling, craft beers lovers can enjoy frosty brews from Atlanta’s first African-American-owned brewing company, Down Home Brewing. Brewmaster and Founder Chris Reeves will be on site pouring glasses of his handcrafted Georgia Hooch IPA (6.8% ABV) and T-Pom Pomegranate Wheat Ale (6.3% ABV). Executive Chef Nick Anderson will also be firing up the Big Green Egg serving his spin on Southern classics like Barbecue Brisket Sandwiches, Beer Can Chicken, Potato Salad, House-made coleslaw and potato chips. The party, along with a live music performance, kicks off at 12 p.m. and tickets are $30, plus applicable fees and are available for purchase at www.citywinery.com/atlanta.

CASTLEBERRY HILL LOFT TOUR 2018

The Castleberry Hill Neighborhood Association is proud to announce the much-anticipated date for the 2018 Castleberry Hill Loft Tour. This year’s Loft Tour is Saturday, October 13th 11am – 5pm. Tour goers will have a peek into the lives of the people who call this eclectic neighborhood home. Our homes, our restaurants, our galleries and boutiques are open for you to explore! Castleberry Hill is located just seconds from the CNN Center, Mercedes-Benz Stadium, and Centennial Olympic Park in downtown Atlanta. A far cry from the days of, “Snake Nation”, where Castleberry Hill functioned as a red-light district, this Historic + Art District has been named one of the Top 10 Art Districts in the country. Castleberry Hill has also been used numerous times for filming from TV to the big screen and everything in between. SuperFly, Captain America: Civil War, Real Housewives of Atlanta, Game night, Sleepy Hollow, Triple Nine, The Fast and Furious, Vampire Diaries and The Walking Dead, have all been filmed here.
