14TH ANNUAL GRANT PARK SUMMER SHADE FESTIVAL

An annual tradition for more than a decade, the Grant Park Summer Shade Festival will welcome music and art lovers to Atlanta’s oldest park for two days of nonstop fun on Saturday, August 27 and Sunday, August 28, 2016. Presented by and benefiting the Grant Park Conservancy, the festival will once again feature an impressive lineup of live music throughout the weekend on two stages in addition to an expansive artist market that will double in size for this year’s event. Open to all ages and free to attend, the 14th annual Summer Shade Festival will also have a diverse selection of local food trucks with offerings for all tastes, craft beer, a Kids Zone, a 5K run, a farmers market and much more

24TH ANNUAL JEFFREY FASHION CARES

Arbiter of style and acclaimed retailer Jeffrey Kalinsky will once again kick off Atlanta’s fall social season on a stylish note at the 24th Annual Jeffrey Fashion Cares on Monday, August 29, 2016 at 7 p.m. One of the largest combined AIDS and breast cancer benefits in the country; the philanthropic affair will feature a pre-show cocktail reception, silent and live auction, and a dazzling runway show – giving fashion lovers an intimate look at Fall’s hottest runway trends. For the second year in a row, Jeffrey Fashion Cares will return to the recently renovated Phipps Plaza in the heart of Buckhead and slip into a completely transformed and private environment in the Monarch Court as Kalinsky and his team once again embark on their mission to raise as much awareness and funds as possible for the event’s beneficiaries, Susan G. Komen Greater Atlanta and the Atlanta AIDS Fund (AAF).

HAMPTON AND HUDSON COMMUNITY BAR AND RESTAURANT NOW OPEN IN INMAN PARK

Restaurateurs Billy and Jenn Streck will open their first solo concept, Hampton & Hudson (H+H) – a community driven bar and restaurant located in Inman Park at 280 Elizabeth Street the last week of May 2016. Billy, best-known as co-owner of the bustling, Midtown hotspots Cypress Street Pint and Plate, GRAIN drink shop and eatery and Atwoods Pizza Cafe, has created another approachable and affordable haunt with his wife in one of Atlanta’s fastest growing neighborhoods. Jenn, an Atlanta native, has years of experience in both the music and bar industries and brings a wealth of talent and vision to their first concept.

LENOX SQUARE 4TH OF JULY 2016

Let freedom ring! One of Atlanta’s favorite summer traditions, Lenox Square’s Legendary Fourth of July, is set to return with a star-spangled bang! For over half a century, Lenox Square has celebrated Independence Day in grand tradition with patriotic activities for the entire family. At over 10,000 fireworks, the show has grown in scope and scale to become one of the largest fireworks displays in the Southeast. This year’s activities will include a 15-minute fireworks show, musical entertainment and food concessions. Everyone is invited to experience the city’s time-honored tradition and celebrate as Lenox Square lights up the sky on the Fourth of July!

Meet Me At Terminus

This weekend, Campus MovieFest, the world’s largest student film festival, has announced the dates for the inaugural TERMINUS – a four-day event dedicated to bringing together young creatives and industry professionals for the best of film, TV and gaming. Taking place June 16 through 19, 2016 at the Marriott Marquis in Downtown Atlanta and throughout the city, TERMINUS will feature hands-on workshops, educational panels, game design expos, exclusive film and TV screenings, live-play tournaments, awards, chances to rub elbows and network with celebrities and industry leaders, and much more. Ideas United, producers of TERMINUS and creators of Campus MovieFest, chose Atlanta to launch TERMINUS based in large part to the city’s ongoing dedication to supporting and cultivating the entertainment industry. Get in on the mayhem. All-access badges run $129 for students and $149 for adults. There are also movie screenings, award entry, and other options available. If you get the all-access you get all parties, award ceremonies, and all workshops. It’s a great deal!

2016 Atlanta Summer Beer Fest

On Saturday, June 18th at Historic 4th Ward Park is the 6th annual Atlanta Beer Festival starting at 4pm. Atlanta Summer Beer Fest will feature 200+ beers, ciders and a selection of wine for those wine lovers out there. While this beer fest has been around for a few years, it gets bigger and better every year and this year is no exception. Don’t miss out on the beer, wine, ciders, music, and food for purchase. What we’re excited about is first-time local brewers Gate City, Abby of the Holy Goats, Omaha, Left Nut and the plethora of awesome and new breweries to choose from! Tickets are $45 in advance and $55 at the door.
