DAVIO’S 6TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

Davio’s Northern Italian Steakhouse is pleased to invite family, friends, celebrities and celebrity chefs to its six-year anniversary party on August 30 from 6 to 9 p.m. Hosted by local publication Simply Buckhead, guests are invited to enjoy complimentary appetizers, a cash bar and music by DJ Willie T (Tommy Owen of the Bert Show). Proceeds from a cash bar and silent auction, with gifts from Lilly Pulitzer, Michael Kors, Elie Tahari, Vince, The Spa at Mandarin Oriental, W Hotel Buckhead and much more, will benefit Bert’s Big Adventure.

2016 YACHT ROCK REVIVAL WITH YACHT ROCK REVUE

Music lovers will be treated to an evening featuring the smoothest music of the late ‘70s and early ‘80s to ever to grace this planet. Hitting the stage in their polyester style with their undeniable wisecrack humor, Yacht Rock Revue will once again belt out spot-on renditions of everything from Hall & Oates to Huey Lewis to Prince to Christopher Cross. Beer and cocktails, including specials from Heineken, Dos Equis, Absolut, and Jack Daniels, will also be available for purchase in addition to Park Tavern’s full dinner menu. VIP Lounge Tickets include access to the air-conditioned tent at Park Tavern, access to indoor restrooms, a bourbon bar, exclusive food offerings and a captain’s hat. Seating will be limited and a view of the stage is not guaranteed from the VIP area. Atlanta Bar-B-Q Fest 2016

Atlanta’s best smelling and tasting event, the Atlanta BAR-B-Q Festival is moving to Perimeter Mall. Featuring an all new location this year, the 8th Annual Atlanta BAR-B-Q Festival is set for Friday-Saturday, August 12-13, The event will showcase the world of barbeque and its endless flavors and cooking styles. Enjoy regionally inspired BBQ flavors and pick up tips guaranteed to make your next backyard BBQ a cut above the rest. More than 30 BBQ teams from across the region will fire up their grills to compete in the 8th Annual Atlanta BAR-B-Q Festival Cook-Off to win cash prizes, coveted trophies, and the ultimate reward – bragging rights. Professional teams will be awarded prizes in a variety of categories such as a whole hog, ribs, chicken, brisket, pulled pork, sauce, dessert and more. Event fans will enjoy Atlanta’s best BBQ restaurants serving their specialties and sampling events each day of the event will allow patrons to purchase sample-size portions of championship ‘que’ from our participating teams while supplies last. The BAR-B-Q Festival is great for the whole family and offers a cooking stage, live music, Kids-Town with interactive games and activities as well as a general market with sauces, rubs, and items for backyard barbequing. Like Bourbon with your BBQ? Fans can purchase a special Bourbon Experience ticket and enjoy samples of more than 25 premium bourbons. The Bourbon Experience ticket is $35 in advance or $40 day of the show and includes entry into the festival plus 10 sampling tokens. Bourbon samples range from 1-4 tokens each and additional tokens can be purchased for $1 at the event. Event admission is $8 in advance and $12 day of show.

Piedmont Park Arts Festival 2016

The 2016 Piedmont Park Arts Festival is a two-day outdoor event held on August 13 and 14, 2016 with an emphasis on the visual arts and family fun presented by the Atlanta Foundation for Public Spaces. Located in Piedmont Park, one of the most respected and beautiful public parks in the City of Atlanta, the eighth annual event will feature up to 250 painters, photographers, sculptors, leather and metalwork, glass blowers, jewelers, and crafters. This year’s festival will also include work from Hugo Crus, Mathew Hays, Melanie Rolf, Nathan Bailey and more. Attendees are also invited to enjoy artist demonstrations, live acoustic music, a street market, children’s play area, festival foods and beverages, games and much more.
