Atlanta, Georgia (November 4, 2015) – BattleFrog, a national obstacle race series, has announced it will be returning to the Atlanta area November 7, 2015 at Foxwoods Event Center in Tallapoosa, Georgia – just an hour outside the city. This will be BattleFrog’s third race in the Atlanta area and its first at Foxwoods Event Center, an idyllic natural setting best known for hosting glamorous outdoor weddings and events. Racers can take advantage of a variety of races including 16K and 8K race options for young adults and adults and the Tadpole 400-meter dash for ages 4 to 8 and the BullFrog Mile for ages 8 to 13. The 500-acre obstacle course will include climbing walls, swims, and diverse terrain including the addition of a river crossing and two Platinum Rigs – the nation’s largest.

“Many of our racers are familiar with Platinum Rigs from their local Cross-Fit box or gym,” says race director Chris Acord.  “In addition to being the nation’s largest, we can change up grips and angles to really add a psychological component to the race.”

BattleFrog expects thousands battlers to attend its race, including hundreds kids. This past May, BattleFrog thrilled thousands of athletes and their families with three courses, including their namesake BattleFrog race, the “bullfrog mile” for teenagers and “tadpole” family course with exciting confidence-building obstacles for kids. BattleFrog’s Brandon Phillips, a professional athlete and Cross-Fit Games competitor, has been helping local kids prepare for the big race.

“Everywhere I go, people are talking about how exciting our race is,” states Phillips. “We are thrilled so many families want to be involved and become ‘battlers’. Regardless of your reason for racing, BattleFrog is an excellent way to get outdoors and enjoy the spirit of community we are fostering.

In addition to the groups of families that attend, BattleFrog welcomes special racers that underscore the extraordinary nature of the event. One such racer is local athlete Michael Mills, who is ‘Battling’ to raise awareness for adaptive athletes. Mills, a paraplegic athlete, who lost the use of his legs after being struck by a drunk driver, expects to complete the race in about three hours. The race represents how people can “…overcome obstacles, live an exciting life and achieve great things.” Another exciting group of racers is the GORMR team. GORMR has sent over 200 athletes to past BattleFrog events and expects even higher participation for this race. And while GORMR features high caliber, individual athletes, they go out together and ‘battle’ as a team.

Registration is now open at www.battlefrogseries.com for teams, individuals, spectators and volunteers. Prices ranges from $5 to $140, depending on age, skill level and distance. The November 7th event takes place at Foxwoods Event Center, at 416 Bethany Church Road in Tallapoosa, GA. BattleFrog is an all ages event.
