Midtown Hotspot Gets in the Holiday Spirit with

Festive Cocktails, Décor, and Music at Virtue Rooftop            

‘Tis the season for celebrating, and 5Church Midtown kicks off the festivities with the launch of its Rooftop Holiday Bar at Virtue Rooftop on Friday, Nov. 25.

Jolly guests will jingle the night away with a selection of holiday-themed cocktails, a menu of light bites from culinary director Rodney Smith Jr., a playlist of holiday tunes and festive décor, and twinkly lights. Drinks from Virtue Rooftop’s full cocktail menu also will be available.

The Rooftop Holiday Bar will be open Thursday-Saturday evenings from 5-11 p.m. on a first-come, first-served basis for those 21 years old and over with no cover charge. PIEDMONT HOLIDAY GIFT MARKET DEBUTS THIS NOVEMBER IN PIEDMONT PARK

Inaugural Two-Day Event Featuring 175 Artists and Vendors, Holiday Trees and Wreaths, Music, Hot Cocoa and More Saturday, November 26 and Sunday, November 27, 2022

Get into the spirit of gift giving at the inaugural Piedmont Holiday Gift Market. Presented by the Atlanta Foundation for Public Spaces, the new two-day event will take place in picturesque Piedmont Park in the heart of Midtown on Saturday, November 26 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, November 27, 2022 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Event goers are invited to sip on hot cocoa, listen to holiday music, and stroll through the park while exploring gift items from approximately 175 artists including painters, photographers, sculptors, glass blowers, leather and metalworkers, jewelers, and crafters. Cirque du Soleil – The wait is over as the amazing acrobats of Cirque du Soleil have made their grand return to Atlantic Station! Bring the whole family to experience the fantastical, impossible, colossal, unimaginable world of Cirque du Soleil by stepping into the curio cabinet of an ambitious inventor who defies the laws of time, space and dimension in order to reinvent everything around him. Suddenly, the visible becomes invisible, perspectives are transformed and the world is literally turned upside down. Cirque du Soleil offers regular and group tickets, accessible seating and more. Skate the Station – Get into the holiday spirit at Atlanta’s largest outdoor ice skating rink! Skate the Station returns on Friday, Nov. 18 and all are invited to skate under the stars. Skate the Station tickets are on sale now and rentals are included in each purchase. Skaters can enjoy this holiday tradition now through Monday, Jan. 16. The skate shop will be decorated resembling a cozy ski lounge for guests to stay warm before hitting the ice rink and it will be located on 17th ½ St. next to the Safety & Security Office. Light the Station – On Saturday, Nov. 19, the community is invited to watch the lighting of the 50-foot Christmas tree on Atlantic Station’s central greenspace, Atlantic Green. The event includes live musical performances, Christmas crafts for the kids, a book reading by Tiny Doors founder Karen Anderson Singer and more! At 7 p.m., break out your best dance moves in the Holiday Disco Parade that will flow through Atlantic Station and will lead to the magical tree lighting in Atlantic Green. Celebration at the Station – Each night from Sunday, Nov. 20 through Tuesday, Jan. 2, gather around the spectacular Christmas tree at Atlantic Green to experience dazzling celebration with a light and snow show transforming the Station into a winter wonderland. Atlantic Station Menorah Lighting – Join Chabad Intown to celebrate Hanukkah with the traditional ceremony of the lighting of the Menorah on Tuesday, Dec. 20. Buckhead Gathering Spot Returns with Sleigh Bells Ringing and

Festive Food, Drinks, Ambiance, and More

Buckhead is even cheerier thanks to the return of The Blind Elf Holiday Pop-Up Bar. The Blind Pig Parlour Bar has temporarily transformed into a magical gathering spot guaranteeing sleigh loads of merriment throughout the holidays.

Guests enter a festive wonderland of over-the-top décor and twinkling lights to discover a variety of warm and chilly holiday-themed drinks, candy cane shots, beer, wine, and bubbles to ensure a spirited mood. Highlights of the Instagram-worthy drink menu include:

  • Sugar Plum Fairy – gin, lemon juice, Chandon, and pink fairy dust
  • Rudolph’s So Bitter – Campari, Antica, vodka, raspberry cordial, and lime juice
  • Feliz Navidad – mezcal, brown sugar molasses, cinnamon, nutmeg, and orange zest
  • Nog-Gonna Make It to Work Tomorrow – eggnog, toasted almond orgeat, and Black Barrel rum

Inspired by 1970s dinner party classics, The Blind Elf’s food menu is as festive as the cocktails. Guests will enjoy cheese fondue served with garlic focaccia, green apples, and broccoli along with a selection of savory and sweet bites that pair perfectly with the drinks. Among these are:

  • Reindeer chips and dip with house-made French onion dip with chips and veggies
  • Beer-battered mushrooms with herb-horseradish cream

KICK OFF THE 2022 HOLIDAY SEASON WITH VININGS’ OLDEST HOLIDAY TRADITION

Usher in the happiest time of year at the 2022 Annual Vinings Jubilee Christmas Tree Lighting at Paces Properties’ Vinings Jubilee, taking place 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 1 at the Tower Stage. The annual event transforms Vinings Jubilee into a holiday wonderland for the entire family to enjoy and is free for all to attend.
 
“The Annual Christmas Tree Lighting at Vinings Jubilee is one of our favorite events to host each year,” said David Cochran, CEO of Paces Properties. “For 37 years, we’ve welcomed families and friends as they come together from across Atlanta, reminding all of us that this season is best spent surrounded by loved ones. For many, this is a holiday tradition that is looked forward to every year and we’re thrilled to be able to host the event once again.”
 
For guests, we hope you’ve been nice and not naughty, because Santa Claus always makes an appearance at the beloved holiday event. While his reindeer keep Mrs. Claus company at the North Pole, Santa will have his bag of gifts, his list checked twice, and will be available for photo opportunities throughout the evening. Buckhead Village is decking the halls this holiday season with an abundance of new and returning holiday activities, inviting guests to reunite with annual favorites like The German American Cultural Foundation’s German Christkindl Market & a performance from the Atlanta Ballet 2 and explore a variety of exciting offerings like a new Holidays in Technicolor event series, festive pop-ups and more.

The property will celebrate the merriest time of year as it transforms into an abstract winter wonderland decked with sparkling globes, illuminated trees and fresh eucalyptus garland. Dashing happenings will abound all season long, including:

Selected by audition from all over the world, Atlanta Ballet 2 represents the highest level of training in the Atlanta Ballet Centre for Dance Education. 

Cozy up alongside fire pits in the open-air space across from Le Bilboquet to enjoy the performances. Performances will be free and open to the public – no tickets required.

Create new traditions with Buckhead Village’s Holidays in Technicolor event series, set to transform The Veranda into a whimsical Christmas Tree-scape with the help of renowned and decorated florist Canaan Marshall of HBO Max’s “Full Bloom.” One of the city’s most anticipated photo ops of the season, the technicolor wonderland will don an array of traditional flocked Christmas trees mixed with contemporary painted trees adorned with cozy lighting, unique jewel-tones, dramatic ornaments and bows, lifesize ornaments throughout the space, a dusting of snow throughout The Veranda and other colorful, themed accents.

The series will also kick off with the unveiling of a new mural by Hvass&Hannibal, a Copenhagen design studio, that will debut the artist’s signature style along with a rich color scheme that seamlessly blends with the jewel toned hues from Marshall’s enchanted wonderland.

Stop by to experience a revolving door of family-friendly activities and crafts like ornament and cookie decorating, appearances throughout the day from Stylish Santa, Lilac Wine, Tinsletone Carolers and snowglobe ballerinas, plus restaurant specials and in-store events from shops around the property. Seasonal treats from Saint Germain Bakery, Georgetown Cupcakes, Bella Cucina, Shake Shack and The Southern Gentleman will be available with donation to the Atlanta Ballet.

Next up in Buckhead Village’s Curated Series, a series of bespoke workshops for the creative and curious, is a wreath-making workshop with Le Jardin Français. Under the impeccable direction of floral extraordinaire Marie-Laure Coste-Dujols, attendees will embark on a journey to master the art of French floral design and create inspired holiday wreaths using the season’s best materials. Tickets are available for $325 and can be purchased here. 

Hosted on Buckhead Avenue, Buckhead Village has partnered with Livable Buckhead to kick off a community tree decorating event set to transform Buckhead Village’s streets into a forest of fully-decorated Christmas trees that will remain on display throughout the weekend before they are donated to the Atlanta Fire Rescue Foundation to spread this season’s holiday cheer. The event will take place from noon to 3pm, alongside festivities from the day’s Holidays in Technicolor event that will continue until 6pm. Buckhead Avenue will be closed on Sat., Dec. 3 for this event.

In addition to donning this season’s pines with festive lights, cards and fire truck ornaments, attendees can enjoy s’mores by the fire pits, festive blooms from Gussied Up Flower Truck, kid-friendly ornament decorating stations, live street art from Atlanta-based chalk muralist Jessi Queen, a vintage photo booth from Atlanta Photo Camper and holiday performances by Xiamara (noon-2pm), Tinsletone Carolers (2-6pm), Tune Union (3-6pm) and Stylish Santa (noon-4pm). Seasonal treats including hot chocolate from Saint Germain Bakery and bites from Georgetown Cupcakes will be available with donation to the Atlanta Fire Rescue Foundation.

Fernbank Announces Grand Opening Date and Opens Ticket Sales for “WildWoods: AGLOW”

As announced in conjunction with Fernbank Museum’s 30th anniversary last month, “WildWoods: AGLOW” will officially open on Nov. 17, 2022, continuing on select evenings through March 5, 2023. Tickets are now available for purchase at

This all-new, limited-run nighttime experience offers a different experience within WildWoods, a 10-acre natural habitat behind the museum. Highlighting the complex, connected and sometimes-hidden stories that flourish in the surrounding forest, this innovative experience brings together the vast, natural environment with the latest innovations in immersive design and technology. Transformative illuminations, large-scale projections and original music
compositions beckon guests into a nighttime wonderland of biodiversity.


Inspired by native flora and fauna – and unlike anything else in Atlanta – this multi-sensory experience reveals the wonder of nature through a range of glowing, interactive and panoramic scenes across five distinct zones. 


“We are always exploring exciting ways to engage audiences with science and nature while tickling the imagination through innovative and fun programming,” said Fernbank President and CEO, Jennifer Grant Warner. “WildWoods: AGLOW is an exciting experience that will reveal nature’s magnificent wonders through beautiful, artistic and intentional uses of projection that enhance our understanding of the ecosystem that connects us all.”


As guests enter the experience, they first discover oversized seeds glowing with interactive light, signaling the origin of forest growth and inspiring a deeper connection with nature. Throughout the experience, guests will encounter nocturnal animals, forest projections, and interactive lighting integrated with the surrounding plants and forested environment. Another zone features larger-than-life incandescent mushrooms that can respond to guest movement with a musical symphony of illuminated communication. Developed in partnership with Thinkwell, a leading design and production agency creating immersive, content-driven experiences for brands and companies around the world, “WildWoods: AGLOW” is the third endeavor between the two organizations, following the opening of the award-winning children’s exhibit NatureQuest in 2011 and the creation of a series of outdoor exhibits in WildWoods, which expanded Fernbank’s experiences into the outdoors in 2016. Thinkwell has also previously designed and opened outdoor, nighttime experiences, including Omega a la Nuit and Harry Potter: A Forbidden Forest Experience.

Live! at The Battery – the entertainment destination located in the heart of The Battery Atlanta – announces it will be home to holiday pop-up bar Tinsel Tavern throughout the merriest time of year! Featuring an explosion of tinsel and twinkling lights, holiday-inspired cocktails and small bites, and photo moments, the whimsical experience will be open daily Thursday, December 1 through Saturday, December 24 from 4pm until close.

Throughout the season, Tinsel Tavern will host festive themed nights – think Dancing Elves Silent Disco and an Ugly Sweater Party – and Family Day every Sunday from 4-7pm, where kids can visit Santa, enjoy coloring stations and more. Happy Campers: Kids Play Wednesdays

Wednesday, November 2 from 10 a.m. – noon

Join us for the Kids Play Wednesdays series this month! Bring the little ones to The Works the first Wednesday of every month for crafts, activities and a variety of featured guests that will engage the kids in a fun and educational way. A parent or guardian must stay with each child during the program. This is best suited for ages 4-9, but everyone is welcome! After the program, enjoy a delicious lunch from Chattahoochee Food Works or Fox Bros BBQ. Each session will be held at the Spur Stage and is weather dependent. American Axes: Trivi-Axe

Atlanta Nonprofit Hosts Eight-Day Festival At Georgia World Congress Center With Forest Of
Holiday Trees For Auction, Live Entertainment And More


Georgia Festival of Trees presented by Atlanta Gas Light will kick off the holiday season with an eight-day festival Saturday, Nov. 19-Sunday, Nov. 27 at the Georgia World Congress Center that features a dazzling display of Christmas trees, wreaths, centerpieces and nativities for auction, live music and entertainment, a gingerbread contest, Christmas brick challenge, kids’ activities and games, boutique gift shops, food carts and more.


As one of the first holiday events of the season in Atlanta, proceeds from the event and holiday tree sales will benefit Wellspring Living, a local nonprofit organization that supports and serves survivors of human trafficking in metro Atlanta. The festival remains true to its aim to strengthen the community through charitable engagement and holiday spirit. Georgia Festival of Trees

President and CEO Angie Ulibarri says she is thrilled for the exciting new additions to this year’s festival. “It’s an honor to officially kick off the Christmas season in Atlanta through the Georgia Festival of Trees,” said Ulibarri. “We want this event to unify the community, spread joy and light, and continue to be a memorable experience for families in Atlanta, which is why we’ve added a few new experiences this year. The Christmas brick challenge and gingerbread contest are just two more ways families can connect with each other at the Georgia Festival of Trees while celebrating the season and giving back to those in need.”


Each tree, wreath, centerpiece and nativity at the festival is designed, decorated and donated by individuals and organizations in metro Atlanta, providing a variety of options for those looking to take home holiday decor. Small trees five feet or less can be picked up at the festival on Nov. 27 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. and Nov. 28 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Large trees six feet or higher will be delivered and set up at the buyer’s home or office on Nov. 28 and Nov. 29.

This year’s Georgia Festival of Trees presenting sponsor is Atlanta Gas Light who provides clean, safe, reliable and affordable natural gas delivery service to approximately 1.7 million customers in Georgia. “Atlanta Gas Light is proud to partner with Georgia Festival of Trees to support the critical mission of Wellspring Living for the second consecutive year,” said Atlanta Gas Light President and CEO Pedro Cherry. “Because of the nature of our business, our employees are in a unique position to help identify suspected human trafficking and assist authorities. This event allows us to help spread holiday cheer while fueling change in the communities we serve.”


Wellspring Living provides specialized recovery services for domestic sex trafficking survivors and those at risk through residential and community-based programs. These programs provide therapeutic services, life training skills, professional development and other resources to provide a path to a successful life. “There is no cookie cutter example of trafficking or exploitation since each individual we serve has their own story and a unique set of needs,” said Mary Frances Bowley, executive director of Wellspring Living. “It’s our focus to meet survivors where they are and create a safe place for
them to heal and thrive.”
