SPRING IN TO SUMMERHILL THIS APRIL

Summerhill, the vibrant Atlanta neighborhood known for its eclectic dining and shopping scene, invites you to take advantage of these special offerings and events in April. From inventive brews to new dishes, there’s something to satisfy every palate this spring.

Highlights include:

  • Guests are invited to experience culinary excellence at Chance’s Steakhouse, a pop-up event at Little Bear. On April 15 at 6 p.m., sous chef Blazer Turman brings his unique flair to the table. Known for its motto “Where Everybody’s Somebody,” Chance’s Steakhouse promises a night of exceptional dining. Reservations are encouraged and can be made via Resy.
  • Halfway Crooks is set to light up April with two special events. On April 13, Electro Nite in the biergarten features an evening of live experimental music and electronica. On April 20, the monthly vinyl DJ series “Crafts and Crates” spins hip-hop from various eras, creating a nostalgic and vibrant atmosphere.
  • An event not to be missed, Move For Grady returns to Georgia State’s Center Parc Stadium, offering a dynamic way to support Grady Health System. Participants can choose from 20- and 62-mile bike rides or take on 5K/10K walking and running routes. New this year is the one-mile DownHill Dash, a test of speed and excitement. The event culminates with the Pop Up on the Plaza Finish Line Celebration featuring a DJ, games for kids, and complimentary food and drinks. The family is invited to join the fun and contribute to a great cause.
  • For those with a sweet tooth, Big Softie is introducing two seasonal toppings: the strawberry shortcake crumble and passion fruit hardshell. These delicious additions are sure to elevate the ice cream experience.
  • BOCA spices up the season with its new margarita pitchers for just $30. Patrons can choose from original, blood orange, strawberry, mango, pink guava, and dragon fruit. BOCA’s margaritas add a zesty twist to every gathering.
  • Junior’s April special, Gucci Mac & Young Cheesy, features macaroni and cheese, bacon, and pimento. It is available in regular and vegetarian versions (featuring vegan meatballs instead of bacon). The restaurant will also be selling their homemade pimento cheese to enjoy.

Every Wednesday, 6-10pm – Beer Garden Wednesdays

Live! at The Battery invites guests to their newly opened Blue Moon Beer Garden for Beer Garden Wednesday. The new concept features a completely redesigned, expansive outdoor patio, coastal-inspired menu, live music and a thoughtfully curated selection of daily activations. Every Wednesday the new space will feature refreshing beer, appetizer specials, entertaining patio games and live local musicians.

Sat., April 29 – Silent Saturdays: Silent Disco Party

One Saturday every month, Live! at the Battery invites guests to dance all night long and sing their hearts out during the Silent Saturdays Silent Disco Party! Grab a pair of headphones and get in the groove. There will be drink specials, two favorite local DJs spinning different music and plenty of great late night vibes. Tickets will be available here.

Fri., May 5 – Fiesta de Mayo

Celebrate Cinco de Mayo at Live! at the Battery’s Fiesta! Presented by Topo Chico, the celebration will feature shopping from Hispanic and Latin-owned local businesses, live music from a Mariachi band, margaritas, games and a Live DJ to keep the party going even after the baseball game! Halcyon invites the community to play, shop, dine and experience what’s new at the mixed-use village

Halcyon, Forsyth County’s mixed-use village, welcomes the warmer weather of spring with a fun-filled calendar of events this April. Celebrate the weekend at Halcyon singing and dancing along to live music at Groovin’ on the Green. The animals of North Georgia Wildlife Park are returning this month for the kick-off weekend of Halcyon’s Farm Animal Yoga. At the end of the month, visitors can honor the brave and courageous frontliners at Halcyon Heroes Day with special guests: Captain Marvel and Spiderman. There is plenty to do and something for everyone to enjoy throughout April at Halcyon.

Groovin’ on the Green

Fridays and Saturdays in April from 6 – 9 p.m.

Celebrate the weekend by dancing and singing along to live musical performances on the Village Green! Enjoy local bands across a variety of genres playing the top hits. On the last Saturday of each month, Cherry Street Brewpub will host live music on their patio adjacent to the Village Green and guests can grab one of their craft brews and groove to live music playing all around the village! Celebrate the fearless frontline workers of Forsyth County, including county sheriff officers, police K9s, canine assistants, military personnels, 911 operators, nurses and FurKids animal rescuers. Kids are invited to dress up and meet Captain Marvel and Spiderman and explore military humvees, a fire truck, police cars, an ambulance, a school bus and more. Second Helpings Atlanta celebrates Earth Day each Sunday throughout the month of April, starting Sunday, April 11, with a virtual series of “Zero Waste Cooking Classes” to promote sustainability. Classes will be led by Chef and owner of Mercer Street Meals Lance Gummere, author of “Chez Marc’s Quarantine Cookbook” Marc Pollack, and “Southern Ground” author Jennifer Lapidus. Each class will feature recipes created with ingredients that otherwise might be thrown away, adding to a landfill.

Metro-Atlantans can expect to catch a glimpse of the long-awaited signs of spring at The Battery Atlanta this April! Patio dining at Superica, Garden & Gun Club and Terrapin Taproom gives foodies the chance to enjoy their favorite local spots al fresco. Visitors can lace up their athletic shoes and head out to the Plaza Green for outdoor exercise classes or opt for walk/run around the campus. Fan-favorite Braves Clubhouse Store and Baseballism are celebrating the return of America’s favorite pastime with new Atlanta Braves gear for the entire family! Just steps from Truist Park, the newly opened ASW Distillery is now offering public tasting tours and its extensive cocktail program to walk-up visitors.

Outdoor Activities:
Wellness Series: Yoga by Kaiser Permanente

Mondays from 6:30-7:30 p.m.
Start the week off stress-free with a limited capacity, outdoor yoga class presented by Kaiser Permanente on non-event days at the Plaza Green. Pre-registration and event participant waivers are available online. Participants are required to bring a mat and encouraged to bring water. A live stream on Facebook and past sessions on YouTube are also available to fitness fans virtually on event days.

Cornhole ATL Spring League
Tuesdays from 6:45-9 p.m.
A tailgate favorite is now a league of its own! Spectators are encouraged to watch the action and cheer on league participants as they play games leading up to the spring season’s final tournament. League winners will receive a championship trophy and other prizes.

The Battery Atlanta Walking Trail presented by UnitedHealthcare
A brisk walk can curb cravings, reduce stress and offer a healthy way to catch up with friends and family! Get out and get active on the 1.5-mile loop circling the campus.

ASW Distillery

The Battery Atlanta facility features a tasting room, a Vendome copper pot/column hybrid still for distilling gin and vodka, a small batch bottling operation, the most extensive cocktail program of ASW Distillery’s three Atlanta locations and a large private events space. ASW Distillery offers public tasting hours from noon to 9 p.m. every day of the week and noon to 10 p.m. on game days, as well as walk-up tour experiences.
