From the Craft Brewers Guild: The celebration will feature 60+ member breweries, special VIP event, collaboration beers & more

The Peach’s State’s only festival dedicated solely to Georgia’s independent craft breweries arrives at Atlantic Station April 1 and 2.

Hosted by the Georgia Craft Brewers Guild (GCBG), the event is much more than a festival – it’s a celebration of the state’s thriving craft beer industry.

“Our local breweries are what make our communities great places to live, work and visit, and this event is the perfect opportunity to showcase our statewide community, all while enjoying delicious beer,” says Joseph Cortes, executive director of the Georgia Craft Brewers Guild. “These small businesses generate more than a billion dollar economic impact annually for the state, local communities and the tourism and hospitality industries, and this festival is all about highlighting the tremendous impact they have.”

The money raised from the festival will go to support and help promote and advance the common interests of GCBG’s members and Georgia’s independent, small breweries.

“Since 2015, the number of craft breweries in Georgia has grown from 45 to over 130,” says Cortes. “Yet, despite that, Georgia is still one of the most restrictive states for breweries to conduct business. The proceeds from the festival will help us continue to advocate on behalf of our members and the brewery community as a whole.”

The weekend kicks off with a special VIP preview Friday, April 1, from 6 to 10 p.m. Attendees will be the first to taste 20+ special collab beers from brewery participants, as well as hear from brewers about the beers, their process, ingredients and inspiration. A panel of 15 experienced Beer Judge Certification Program-certified judges will award gold, silver and bronze to the top three winners of the collab contest.

Then, on Saturday, April 2, ticket holders will enjoy a full day of all things Georgia craft beer, including 60+ GCBG member breweries that will be pouring 250+ homegrown beers. Additionally, Saturday festival-goers will also get to try all the collab brews created exclusively for the festival.

In addition to delicious beer, there will also be a number of Georgia wineries present, as well as popular local food trucks, live entertainment, craft vendors and more. For more information and to buy tickets, please visit: georgiacraftbrewersfestival.com.

The festival announcement comes following the GCBG’s 2022 Georgia Beer Day, which took place on March 5.

The annual observance, which is organized by the GCBG and benefits its member breweries, is a daylong celebration of Georgia’s vibrant craft beer industry.  This year, 70 breweries across the state participated and sold a limited edition full-color collector’s pint glass to help raise funds for the GCBG and its members. As a result of the glass sales, the Guild raised over $15,000.

SECOND SELF BEER COMPANY TO CELEBRATE SEVENTH ANNIVERSARY WITH WEEK-LONG CELEBRATION & LAUNCH OF TOTALLY TWOBULAR BEER

Posted by Liz and John Attaway, 2/13/22

Kicking Off on “TWOsday,” February 22, 2022 Through Saturday, February 26

Featuring Over 20 Beer Releases, a Free Comedy Show, Food Vendors, ‘90s-Themed Party & More

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Second Self Beer Co. – the Atlanta craft beverage incubator behind award-winning beers and brands like Rudi’s Hard Seltzer and CBD-infused sparkling water Cirrus – invites the community to join them in celebrating their seventh anniversary with a week-long celebration kicking off on Tuesday, February 22 (also known as TWOsday) through Saturday, February 26 at their Westside brewery (1317 Logan Circle NW).

The festivities will begin on TWOsday (02/22/22) at 2:22pm with a launch party for Totally TWObular (6.22% ABV), a Beermosa-Style Sour IPA brewed with peach and made in collaboration with Bottlesharea fundraising and fund distribution non profit organization for the craft beverage industry. It will be available at the taproom while supplies last with proceeds benefiting Bottleshare.

The celebration continues throughout the week with One-Up Wednesday, where guests are invited to upgrade every pour to the next larger size for the same price from 5-9pm, and Game Night Thursday complete with every type of game – board, Nintendo64, arcade – and $2 pours of Second Self’s newest year-round beer Game Night IPA (6.1% ABV). Combining new school haze with a retro flavor profile, this hazy IPA is simple – yet intricate featuring citra, mosaic and centennial hops for an aroma and flavor profile of papaya, mango and citrus.

On Friday, February 25 from 5-9pm guests are invited to gather under a beer tent outside decked with heaters to enjoy a free comedy show hosted by Vas Sanchez (@the_vas_sanchez_). Inside, the brewery will be honoring their $3 Pint Night with pints of Thai Wheat (4.1% ABV), La Fria (4.5% ABV) and Game Night IPA (6.1% ABV) with the addition of $10 pitchers of Just Beer.

On Saturday, February 26 from 1-9pm, Second Self invites their loyal supporters, new friends, first-time visitors and everyone in between to dust off their scrunchies and pull out that old Backstreet Boys CD for the grand finale – a  ‘90s themed costume party. Free and open to the public, the event will feature a selection of over 20 collaboration beers on tap inside the taproom and outside under a beer tent alongside Second Self merch. Guests can also enjoy throwback tunes from Seth Hoover (@deathtodekaf) and BBQ bites from Pitmaster Bryan Furman.

“We want to say thank you to all that have supported us and cheered us on these past seven years,” said Cofounder and Head Beer Architect Jason Santamaria. “Second Self would not be here without each and every beer-lover that has stopped by the taproom, taken a chance on a different six-pack at the store or threw us a like on Instagram! We hope to see everyone come out and help us celebrate.”
