The Avenue West Cobb, an outdoor lifestyle shopping center, is kicking off spring with its annual Spring Festival. The event is set to be held on Friday, March 29 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the center’s Green Space. 

“Spring is here! We’re looking forward to welcoming Marietta community members to the center as the days get longer and flowers begin to bloom,” said Alondra Moya, marketing manager for The Avenue West Cobb. “Our annual Spring Festival is a staple in the local community and this year we’ve ensured there are plenty of fun activities for kids of all ages.”

Open and free to the public, the Spring Festival will allow families to embrace the festive spirit with an array of activities. During the event, the Easter bunny will visit The Avenue and be available to take selfies with guests. Other activities throughout the event include:

  • A delightful egg drop for children under 5
  • An engaging scavenger hunt designed for older kids
  • Captivating face painters
  • A thrilling bounce house
  • A petting zoo

Jesse’s House provides a safe haven and therapeutic environment for adolescent girls who have been removed from situations of neglect and abuse or present a safety risk to themselves and others. On Saturday, March 2nd and Saturday, March 9th at Atlantic Station. Atlanta loves brunch, so we are putting together a festival to celebrate some of the best restaurants in the brunch game serving up tasting size portions of the brunch items they do best.  We will also feature the brunch beverages we all love – Bloody Marys, Mimosas, Brunch Punch, beer, wine and seltzer.  A full list of participating restaurants will be announced soon.  We will also have live music with Davis and the Love and DJ  Qtip. Brunch samples will be $4 each paid directly to each restaurant.

Presented by SweetWater Brewing and Pullman Yards, one of Atlanta’s anticipated festivals, SweetWater 420 Fest has announced its lineup for its return April 20 and 21 at Pullman Yards. Known for its eclectic lineup, as well as its charitable and environmental activations, food trucks, artist market, and, of course, beer from the largest craft brewer in the Southeast- this year’s lineup showcases artists of varying genres, from alternative to rock and pop to singer-songwriter, jam, soul, and an indie. 

Featured artists include headliners Beck and Slightly Stoopid, with support from Big Gigantic; Black Pumas; Gov’t Mule; Trombone Shorty; Cory Wong; Grace Potter; Moe.; St. Paul & The Broken Bones; Larkin Poe; Houndmouth; Ripe; Andy Frasco & The UN; Hayes & The Heathens; Little Stranger; Papadosio; Lespecial; Couch; Fireside Collective; The Psycodelics; Emily Wolfe; Bombargo; Hedonistas, and Connor Clark & Blue Rhythm Revival.  Prepare to shell-ebrate as the original Steamhouse Lounge Oysterfest returns to Midtown Atlanta for its 36th year on Saturday, February 24th, and Sunday, February 25th. Produced by Rival Entertainment, seafood fanatics are in for a dream weekend with heaping buckets of roasted oysters, chargrilled oysters on the half-shell topped with garlic and butter, Steamhouse’s legendary lobster bisque, fried oyster po’boys, ice-cold beer, cocktails, and much more.

Located just two blocks from the Steamhouse Lounge’s iconic beach house on the corner of 11th and West Peachtree, Atlanta’s original Oysterfest will showcase musical talent from across the country in perfect tune with the vibe and soul of Atlanta’s favorite street party. CELEBRATE THE YEAR OF THE DRAGON IN THE HEART OF ATLANTA LATE JAN – FEB 12

Annual Lunar New Year Programming & Festival to Feature Lantern Shows, Music,
Festive Décor and Family-Friendly Activities

 Atlantic Station honors Chinese New Year and its cultural traditions with a colorful Year of the Dragon celebration. Beginning in late January, visit the 30363 to experience Lunar New Year-themed décor and an energetic nightly lantern show leading up to the joyful Lunar New Year Festival on Saturday, Feb. 10 from noon to 4 p.m.

“The Lunar New Year Festival allows us to honor and celebrate Atlanta’s richly diverse community while fostering an understanding of the holiday’s traditions and rituals,” said Starr Cumming, Southeast Retail Director of Hines. “Each year, the 30363 hosts more than 300 activations and signature events, such as the Lunar New Year Festival, bringing together not only Atlantic Station residents, tenants and employees but the entire city of Atlanta.”

Chinese New Year, also known as Lunar New Year or Spring Festival, is traced back to approximately 3,500 years ago and is one of the most significant festivals in Chinese and East Asian cultures to celebrate the start of a new year. The years are marked in cycles of 12, with each year represented by a rotation of animals based on the tale of a “Great Race” of animals by the Jade Emperor. This year, Lunar New Year falls on Saturday, Feb. 10, making it the Year of the Dragon, symbolizing power, success, honor and luck.  
 
Beginning late January and running through Monday, Feb. 12, experience an enchanting display of lights, music and visuals at the top of every hour from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the Atlantic Green. The nightly show features a beautifully designed, 90-foot-long dragon with over 25,000 lights, known as a Chinese symbol of good fortune, emerging from a cloud of fog near Atlantic Green and over 400 red lanterns illuminating the area for a special lantern show to honor the spiritual tradition that celebrates the reunion of loved ones.
 
Then, on Saturday, Feb. 10, the community is invited to join Atlantic Station on the Atlantic Green for the annual Lunar New Year Festival from noon to 4 p.m. Kick off the festivities with a captivating Lion Dance from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., followed by a mesmerizing Kung Fu/Tai Chi performance from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. The Lion Dance is a meaningful ritual and art form in Chinese tradition believed to bring good luck and fortune in the new year and drive away evil spirits. Stick around to make symbolic crafts and even sit with a numerologist who will use your birthdate to study energetic influences and offer insight and predictions on your life.
