Two-Day Arts Festival Featuring 125 Displays of Local and Regional Artists, Children’s Area, Live Music and More!

Presented by the Atlanta Foundation for Public Spaces, the Fall Festival on Ponce is returning to Olmsted Linear Park this Saturday, October 7 and Sunday, October 8, 2023. The two-day festival will feature 125 displays of local and regional fine art and crafts along with folk and outsider art. While taking in the beautiful fall foliage and charming park, festival-goers are invited to enjoy local food trucks, beverages, a children’s play area, DJ sets from Captains of Revelry and much more.  The Fall Festival on Ponce (Olmsted Linear Park,1451 Ponce de Leon Avenue, N.E., Atlanta, GA 30307) is free to attend, open to all ages, and dogs are welcome.  For more information about the festival, please visit www.festivalonponce.com or www.affps.com.

SUNDAY SUPPER SOUTH – THE ANNUAL BENEFIT SUPPORTING THE JAMES BEARD FOUNDATION® – RETURNS TO ATLANTA FOR ITS 12TH YEAR ON SUNDAY, OCTOBER 15 AT PONCE CITY MARKET

Hosted by Renowned, James Beard Award-Winning Chef Anne Quatrano of W.H. Stiles Fish Camp, Bacchanalia, & Star Provisions 

Celebrating Rising Chefs in Atlanta

Friends and guests will celebrate Atlanta’s rising chefs and engage all five senses to raise funds for the James Beard Foundation®, when Sunday Supper South returns to Ponce City Market on Sunday, October 15. This year’s event will be hosted again by James Beard Award-winner Anne Quatrano, beloved Atlanta chef and owner of Bacchanalia, Star Provisions Market & Cafe, and W.H. Stiles Fish Camp. The chef lineup, below, will spotlight up-and-coming local chefs influencing the region’s ever-evolving dining scene, and their unique creations will reflect the best of the city’s cuisine in a collective harvest feast.

Festivities will begin at 5:30pm with a cocktail reception at Ponce City Market’s new residential building Signal House. The cocktail hour will highlight the beverage side of Atlanta’s dining experience with drinks from local industry vets and passed hors d’oeuvres. Following, guests will gather around festive tables at The Shed, Ponce City Market’s open-air gathering space alongside the Atlanta BeltLine, to enjoy an elevated, family-style, farm-to-table dinner showcasing the latest and greatest of Atlanta’s creative talents. Chefs will prepare seasonal ingredients sourced from local farms through Retaaza on Big Green Egg, the event’s official grilling partner and sponsor. Retaaza is a Georgia-based social enterprise that is on a mission to make local food more accessible and affordable by directly supporting communities’ farmers through food rescue and more, reconnecting the state’s consumers to their food, and feeding families struggling with food insecurity.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the James Beard Foundation, which celebrates and supports the people behind America’s food culture, while pushing for new standards in the restaurant industry to create a future where all have the opportunity to thrive. Through the mantra of Good Food for Good®, the organization is committed to providing chefs and other leaders in the food community with the support, tools, and resources they need to make our food culture more sustainable, equitable, and delicious for everyone.

This is the seventh year that Sunday Supper South will take place at Ponce City Market. Since first opening in 2015, Ponce City Market has been credited as a catalyst for revitalizing Atlanta’s Old Fourth Ward neighborhood. It has become a must-visit place on travelers’ Atlanta bucket lists, a beacon in Atlanta’s skyline, and a destination for locals to gather, shop, eat, work, and live.

Football Watch Parties, Live NFC Fight Event, Heroes and Villains Halloween Party, NYE Live! Hollywood Nights & More

 Live! at The Battery – the entertainment destination located in the heart of The Battery Atlanta – announces its events lineup for October, November and December 2023, plus ongoing happenings like Freedom Friday and Silent Disco Saturday.

  • College Football & Professional Football Game Watch Parties – The thrills of football are back on the field and available to watch at all the venues right inside Live! at the Battery Atlanta with the ultimate football experience! From one of the biggest screens in the Southeast inside Sports and Social Atlanta to VIP booth experiences and Bull Riding inside of PBR, the liveliest atmosphere in all of Atlanta starts here. Fans can enjoy a huge selection of game day food like shareable nachos and mouth-watering burgers while enjoying Coors Light Bucket specials! 
  • Heroes & Villains – A Live! Halloween Party (Friday., Oct. 27, 8pm-2am) – Things are getting spooky at Live! this October with a Heroes & Villains themed Halloween party! Guests are invited to don their best costumes for a night of exhilarating suspense, where forces of good clash with the shadows of evil in an epic showdown of fun. Featuring great music, craft cocktails and memorable photo opps – this is a can’t-miss event. Tickets will be available here. 
  • Wizards & Wands (Saturday, Nov. 18, 8pm-1am) – This Fall, Live! At the Battery is conjuring up a magical experience full of wonder and sorcery with fan favorite witches and wizards. Potterheads are invited to don their finest robes representing their house or favorite character and be immersed in spellbinding ambiance, complete with flickering candles and mystical marvels.   • NFC Fight Night (Friday, Dec. 8, 7pm-midnight) – Live! at the Battery is hosting their second National Fighting Championship (NFC) event this winter. The adrenaline-filled night will feature live professional and amateur MMA and Muay Thai fights. Fight attendees will have the chance to be a part of the non-stop action during 12+ Fights in the NFC cage at one of the most exciting and new environments for watching live fights. Plus, there will be fan-favorite drinks and an official after party next door at PBR. The event will be 18 and up with certain areas being 21 and up. Tickets are available here.
  • Tinsel Tavern (Nov., 30 through Dec., 23, excluding select dates) – Live! at The Battery will once again be home to popular holiday pop-up bar Tinsel Tavern throughout the merriest time of year. Featuring an explosion of tinsel and twinkling lights, holiday-inspired cocktails and small bites, photo moments, themed nights and more, the whimsical experience is a can’t-miss holiday spot.   • NYE Live! Hollywood Nights (Sunday, Dec. 31, 8pm-2am) – Live! at the Battery is rolling out the red carpet and flashing lights for New Year’s Eve! Guests can be the star of the party with exclusive access to all the venues during this Hollywood Nights-themed event. Ticket packages include entertainment with live music, unforgettable photo-op moments and a midnight champagne toast featuring the Times Square Ball Drop on a 32-ft LED screen! A one-of-a-kind place to catch sports, dine in style, sip cold beer and craft cocktails, play games and do a bit of bull riding and line dancing, Live! at The Battery plays host to some of Atlanta’s most fun food and drink events. Ongoing happenings include:

  • Freedom Friday, which welcomes military personnel, vets, first responders and public service members to skip the line, get free cover (credentials required) and enjoy drink specials every first Friday of the month.
  • Silent Saturday, inviting guests to grab a pair of headphones and get in the groove with beats from local DJs.

Summer Roadshow Dinner Series Makes Final Stop of Season with German Food & Wine Pairing

The Wurst Beer Hallis collaborating with Poncey-Highland wine and spirits shop Elemental Spirits Co. Thursday, Sept. 28 for the final #HungryandCurious Summer Roadshow dinner of the season.

This special Oktoberfest dinner will be held on the restaurant’s communal outdoor patio, where guests can mingle under twinkling lights and sample three courses featuring platters of sausages, Patak bacon, pork shank, sauerkraut, spaetzle, pretzels, and more alongside four carefully curated German wine pairings. 

Some of the featured wines include Stein Blauschiefer Riesling Trocken and Ziereisen Blauer Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir).

Tickets are $95/person and include gratuity and all food and wine pairings.

Prepare your forks for Brookhaven’s premier tasting event, Taste Brookhaven, on Thursday, Sept. 21, 2023. The all-inclusive event features 20+ of the neighborhood’s top restaurants, beer and wine tastings, live music and more. Taste Brookhaven takes over the Hyatt Regency Atlanta Perimeter at Villa Christina from 6-9 p.m. Foodies can expect a night full of live music by the Bourbon Brothers, unlimited food from local restaurants and beverage tastings to pair. The best part? Taste Brookhaven has partnered with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta to raise money for children and families in need. All proceeds will be donated to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Taste Brookhaven is presented by Explore Brookhaven and Word of Mouth Restaurants.

FILMCON 2023: UNDERGROUND ATLANTA JOINS FORCES WITH LOCAL FILMAKERS DURING SEPTEMBER’S FIRST FRIDAY CELEBRATION

September’s First Friday will provide a platform for local independent filmmakers and storytellers to showcase their works.

Experience an unforgettable cinematic experience during an exciting collaboration with Underground Atlanta’s renowned First Friday event featuring a talented lineup of local filmmakers. This partnership promises to deliver an evening of art, entertainment and community spirit. 

Underground Atlanta is thrilled to partner with Audio_Video_Club and Kristan Woolford in this joint effort of cinematic vision that will take place on Friday, September 1, 2023. FilmCon will offer an engaging platform for emerging filmmakers like Brittany E. Walton, Morgan Matthews, Lanese Love, Vicente Varela-Gomez, Esther Jane Lord, Naima Cooper and others to showcase their talents.

Bianca Cato, Founder and Executive Director of Audio_Video_Club, expressed, “We are a projector and screen, a local nonprofit organization dedicated to elevating art of film and the local filmmakers. AVC is very excited for the partnership with Underground Atlanta’s First Fridays to elevate a few locals and their film creations.”

The Underground Atlanta First Friday event ensures attendees will not only be treated to exceptional cinema but also to dynamic artistic experiences. Film enthusiasts are encouraged to explore the spaces founded by EuGene Byrd III (FUTURE GALLERY + Railroad), Mike Stasny (MOM SAID ITS FINE), Carl Janes (The Inner Space), Maria McDowell (Emmcdee Gallery) and Tyree Smith (ARTlanta Gallery).

“Each First Friday we aim to curate a vibrant part of the Atlanta art scene,” emphasized Lyle Baldes, Director of Special Events at Lalani Ventures. “With our friends in the film industry on an extended strike, we knew it was time to focus on film and the world around it.”

“FilmCon” will begin at 9:00 pm in the Fountain’s Plaza and throughout all of Underground Atlanta on Lower Alabama Street. Since its inception, First Friday has hosted thousands of art lovers and those who are curious about Underground Atlanta’s recent revival. After the performance and throughout the night, attendees are treated to DJs, live performances, an artist market, live painting as well as several food and drink options.
