Forsyth County’s premier mixed-use village invites the community to play, shop, dine and experience what’s new

Head to Halcyon in July for an exciting line-up of events. Kick off the month enjoying live music every weekend by local bands at Groovin’ on the Green; get your sweat on with fan-favorite Farm Animal Yoga; turn back time at ‘80s Night; let your little ones dance with Elsa at Tutu School and enjoy the summer vibes at the Family Dance Party.

The full July events schedule is outlined below:

Groovin’ on the Green

Fridays and Saturdays in July from 6 – 9 p.m.

Celebrate the weekend by dancing and singing along to live musical performances on the Village Green. Enjoy local bands across a variety of genres playing top hits. On the last Saturday of each month, Cherry Street Brewpub will host live music on its patio adjacent to the Village Green. Guests can treat themselves to a craft brew and groove to live music playing all around the village! Halcyon has an open container policy, however outside food or beverages are prohibited. Halcyon Kids Club

Wednesdays through October from 10 a.m. – noon

Preschoolers are invited to play and make new friends at Halcyon’s free Kids Club! Enjoy rotating activities each week ranging from arts and crafts, dance, animal encounters, story time, puppet shows, music and so much more. Themes and activities vary each week and will be announced on Halcyon’s Facebook page and Instagram stories. A parent or guardian is required to stay with each child during the event. Mooove on over to Halcyon for Farm Animal Yoga, featuring live animals from North Georgia Wildlife Park! Participants must bring their own yoga mat and are welcome to pause and take photos with the animals during the session. Tutu School 2nd Anniversary Party

Join Tutu School for a Magical 2nd Anniversary Party! Beat the summer heat at Tutu School for a Special Dance Class with Elsa in honor of Tutu School Halcyon’s 2nd Year of Twirling. The event includes sweet treats, Elsa Friendship Bracelet making (kit included) and lots of twirling with the queen. You do not need to be an active Tutu School member to celebrate. General Admission includes entry to the all-inclusive afternoon affair, featuring peach-centric dishes of all varieties, beer, wine, and cocktails. This year, Buckhead Village will be celebrating the 55th Peachtree Road Race by serving as an official “cheer station” for the spirited July Fourth run! Beginning at 7am on Thurs., July 4, friends, family and self-proclaimed cheerleaders are invited to the corner of Peachtree and Bolling Way (directly in between Brush Sushi and Shake Shack) where the Buckhead Village team – in partnership with the Atlanta Track Club – will supply a collection of noise makers, posters & more to help cheer on your favorite runners. 

Following the race, Buckhead Village restaurants will keep the party going on race day with a slew of specials including:

  • Boba Craze – Boba tea specials for all race participants after the race (please bring your race bib)
  • Carmel – Offering a celebratory glass of bubbles to all race participants who dine in-restaurant after the race (valid during lunch service only).
  • Gypsy Kitchen – Offering a 15% discount for all runners. The restaurant opens at 4pm for regular dinner service.

Crown jewel of Round Top, Texas, antique shows to host first satellite event at historic Philip T. Shutze-designed Southern Exchange Ballrooms in downtown Atlanta

Marburger Farm Antique Show, beloved by interior designers, collectors and culture seekers since 1997, will host its first event outside of Round Top, Texas, from July 17-20, at the historic Philip Shutze-designed Southern Exchange Ballrooms in downtown Atlanta. The show features 35,000 square feet of shopping, 60 dealers and is free and open to the public.

Another first: Marburger will open its doors the evening before the show for a VIP Shopping Experience July 16 from 4-7 p.m. The $200 ticketed event is expected to draw hundreds of top names in design and culture from Atlanta and beyond. Tickets can be purchased here.

Soak Up All the Delectable Gems Found in the Summerhill Neighborhood

Summerhill has some exciting happenings this month to embrace the sizzling summer season. From new food destinations to back-to-school events, the highlights below are a sampling of what’s in store for July.

  • Highly anticipated Southern National at Summerhill is now open for business. The new restaurant serves globally inspired cuisine that is rooted in “authentic Southern cuisine,” curated by chef Duane Nutter. Greg Best and Paul Calvert have curated an equally impressive wine and cocktail menu.  Make reservations here
  • Junior’s in Summerhill has some great specials for July. The pizza joint is offering “The Fresh Prince” (pictured below) in regular, vegetarian, and vegan variations. In addition, Junior’s is featuring lunch specials Monday-Friday 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Guests can choose from two one-topping slices and a soda for $8.50 or one one-topping slice, salad, and soda for $10.25. Guests are invited back on Tuesday evenings for trivia starting at 7 p.m.
  • Big Softie brings a taste of summer to Summerhill with peach sorbet, its July flavor of the month (pictured below). The ice cream shop’s soft serve is made with the best ingredients, including local Georgia dairy products and organic cane sugar.
  • On Saturday, July 15, the Summerhill Community Center branch of Chase Bank is hosting a back-to-school family event from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Families are invited to stop by to pick up a free backpack with school supplies and enjoy fun games, activities and entertainment.  
  • On Saturday, July 22, Organized Neighbors of Summerhill and the Summerhill Neighborhood Development Corporation will host the Summerhill Reunion Unity Festival. A more than 30-year tradition for the neighborhood, the festival will feature local music, food trucks, vendors, activities for kids, and more. The event will be held in Phoenix Park III from 12-8 p.m.
