Remember When Rock Was Young: The Elton John Tribute

Following the shut-down of its venue due to the pandemic, the Mable House Barnes Amphitheatre will once again be hosting LIVE music beginning July 10 at 8pm! Their premiere concert is the internationally touring show Remember When Rock Was Young-The Elton John Tribute. That they are an Atlanta based show only adds to the feeling  of coming home to live performances.


The show stars the multi-talented singer/pianist/actor/creator Craig A Meyer and features the incredible Rocket Band! When asked what it felt like to be facing a hometown audience, Meyer replied, “Atlanta has the best audiences and we are honored they chose us to reopen the Mable House Barnes Amphitheatre. We have a long history with the MHBA and we could not be more pleased.”

The spectacular outdoor venue regularly holds 2500 but will have reduced capacity of 1300 for these first performances. Limited tables are available. The venue has food vendors on site, but also allows guests to bring their own food and drinks. Gates will open approximately 90 minutes prior to the concert.

For anyone who thrives off the nail biting experience of friendly competition, Red’s Beer Garden is teaming up with Atlanta’s own Arches Brewing to present the ultimate, local hot dog eating extravaganza during Independence Day weekend. The inaugural event is set to release the dogs at Red’s Beer Garden in Benteen Park on Saturday, July 3rd at 2 p.m.  Revelers, competitors, and their four-legged friends are invited to hang out in the newly expanded beer garden and sip on Arches Brewing craft beer.  Patrons are not only invited to embrace the aroma of Fripper’s hot dogs during the spectator-friendly competition, but can enjoy Red’s diverse selection of signature hot dog offerings, sandwiches, snacks, beverages and more.

Donating 10% of proceeds to the Autistic Self Advocacy, the opportunity to have fun in the sun for a great cause cannot be missed.  With Beer Bitch Podcast’s Caroline King as the Master of Ceremonies, the first place winner receives a $100 cash prize and the esteemed hot dog crown, the second place winner receives a $50 cash prize—both acquiring Arches Brewery beer and swag. Situated in the heart of Buckhead’s shopping district, Shops Around Lenox is inviting Atlantans and visitors alike to explore, celebrate and purchase works from an array of local artists during its new summer pop-up gallery series.  Kicking off Saturday, June 12, 2021, the art-infused, summer series will be held twice a month on June 12th and 26th, July 10th and 24th, and August 8th and 21st and feature live music, cocktails, bites and more. Each pop-up gallery event will showcase new artists and will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.  Shops Around Lenox’s Pop-Gallery is free to attend and ages are welcome.

For the first pop-up gallery on June 12th, attendees will be treated to works from seven dynamic Georgia artists. Eanaj Janae, who recently relocated to Georgia, creates beautiful and colorful art that cultivates and normalizes body positivity and awareness to colorism, while K. Ross, an established abstract fine artist, gains new inspiration from the rich southern culture and hospitality of Georgia.  Abstract painter Melissa Ewing focuses on fluid art with an emphasis on bold colors and abstract patterns inspired by water, sunsets and flowers. Artist R.D. Simmons creates mixed medium art pieces inspired by nature, impactful events , and common human experiences and emotions. Creating beauty and joy through color and texture, Rhonda Coleman’s layers paint, paper, and fabric to evoke depth and interest. Reflecting how she sees the world,  Sara B. Metro Atlanta’s First Music Festival of 2021 Kicks Off This Weekend

Music festivals are back for Atlanta with Lost Art Music Festival Presented by Cathead Distillery on June 11-12, 2021. As we emerge from the pandemic, the area’s first music festival of 2021 with nationally-touring artists takes place at the spacious Foxhall Resort in Douglasville, just 30 minutes from downtown Atlanta.

Lost Art celebrates the Americana fan community through high energy performances and immersive experiences in a spacious, outdoor setting.

St. Paul & The Broken Bones, Shovels & Rope, The War And Treaty, Ben Nichols of Lucero, and The Pink Stones round out the eclectic and diverse lineup of Americana acts, which blend elements of Southern soul, folk, alt-country, cosmic country, and more.

Aaron Lee Tasjan performs a Friday night kickoff show on June 11. Late night Saturday, The Sundogs Present The Tom Petty Show. Tasjan and The Sundogs shows are available as separate, standalone tickets.

Atlanta Creative Events has done it again. On June 12, 2021, festival lovers can indulge in the 6th annual Food-O-Rama Festival. The 11th annual Atlanta Summer Beer Fest will be held on Saturday, June 12th from 4-8pm at Historic 4th Ward Park. We will have over 150 beers, hard seltzers, as well as a selection of wine and some cider to choose from.
