RenderATL, the trailblazing annual tech conference and networking mecca in Atlanta, begins next week and is pleased to announce the first-ever Atlanta Tech Week taking place from May 30 – June 4, 2023. Atlanta Tech Week, also produced by tech mogul and one of Inc.’s 30 Under 30 recipients, Justin Samuels, marks a significant milestone for the Atlanta technology scene by cultivating an entire ecosystem of innovators, entrepreneurs, and enthusiasts through unique programming and cultural community.

Atlanta Tech Week’s goal is to encourage knowledge sharing, networking, and idea exchange, creating an environment where individuals and organizations can thrive and contribute to the local tech landscape while cultivating a deep sense of Atlanta culture. While being one of the country’s fastest-growing technology hubs, Atlanta fosters a sense of diversity and inclusion that will create space for Atlanta Tech Week to truly take over through alluring events at some of the city’s most beloved venues, such as Ponce City Market, Hotel Indigo, and The Gathering Spot.

Through engaging citywide events, phenomenal Southern cuisine, captivating games, notable speakers, live music performances, and an overall sense of connectivity, Atlanta Tech Week paves the way for attendees to flourish in technological innovation and opportunity. As part of Atlanta Tech Week, RenderATL is a three-day conference breaking traditional barriers between culture and conference. Samuels has a vision that goes beyond conventional conference parameters; it’s one that encompasses Atlanta’s culture, atmosphere, and dedication to growing through technology and engineering.

Featured speakers from RenderATL will also be in Atlanta and participating in Atlanta Tech Week such as David Beitel, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Zillow; David Barrett, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Expensify; Felecia Hatcher, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Black Ambition Project; and Daylon A. Goff, President of JET.

With several participating organizations helping to make the week possible, Atlanta Tech Week will highlight 20-25 noteworthy events such as an Electric Vehicle (EV) Car Show in partnership with Ponce City Market and Juicy Power on June 1 at 6 p.m., complete with an expert EV panel and some of the latest EV’s. Other noteworthy events include:

NOW BOARDING FOR DEPARTURE SATURDAYS AT ROOFTOP L.O.A.

Posted by Liz and John Attaway, 5/5/23

Reservations for Early Ticketing to This Once-a-Month Series Launch Thursday, April 27, 2023

Take a trip to the world’s hottest destinations without a passport, plane ticket, or carry-on at Slater Hospitality’s award-winning Rooftop L.O.A. This summer, L.O.A. is inviting guests to depart from the ordinary and relive some of their favorite international vacations in the heart of Atlanta with a new summer series, Departure Saturdays. While L.O.A. is already an escape within itself, with coastal inspired décor, gardenesque scenery, and stunning panoramic views of Atlanta’s city skyline, each Departure Saturday will provide guests with an unforgettable experience themed around a different place from across the globe.

Departure Saturdays will completely transport attendees, allowing them to fully immerse themselves in the authentic food, music, and overall culture of well-known global destinations. Taking place once a month all summer long, each event will feature a live DJ playing music that reflects the atmosphere of each city, along with a coordinating laser light display, a menu curated with dishes and cocktails inspired by the city’s authentic cuisine, and entertainment in the form of dancers and unique experiences that match the destination.

Read on for more details for each of Rooftop L.O.A.’s 2023 Departure Saturday dates:

  • May 20, 2023 – St. Tropez: Renowned for its breathtaking beach clubs, luxurious yachts, and exclusive parties, St. Tropez is the ultimate French Riviera getaway. While being a popular jet-setting destination, the coastal town still holds onto its roots and remains a fantastic location for taking in real French culture and history while popping bottles, wearing sunnies, and indulging in decadence.

  • June 17, 2023 – Tulum: Tulum’s acclaim has grown immensely over the past few years, with celebrities, influencers, and travel enthusiasts alike adding and checking it off their bucket lists. It’s no wonder as to why with white sand beaches next to beautiful turquoise blue waters and an array of incredible sights, including Mayan Ruins and the iconic “Ven a La Luz,” the Mexican city is a must-visit destination.

  • July 15, 2023 – Cape Town: Sitting near the southernmost tip of South Africa, Cape Town is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful places in the world. There are few cities that offer views of nature quite as picturesque as those of Cape Town’s Table Mountain or Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden. Along with magnificent scenery, Cape Town’s experience includes upscale shopping, dining, and distinctive activities.

  • August 19, 2023 – Mykonos: The Aegean Island of Mykonos is nothing short of charming. The incredible deep blue waters, immaculate Mediterranean cuisine, and distinguishable views of its white hilltop homes are just some of the elements that make Mykonos such a phenomenal getaway.

  • September 30, 2023 – Rio De Janeiro: Lively, colorful, and full of culture, Rio De Janeiro is one of the world’s most recognizable cities. Millions travel to Rio every year for the chance to partake in the biggest celebration on the globe, Brazilian Carnival, but even outside of the famed festival, Rio is a slice of paradise for those who visit.

Rooftop L.O.A.’s departure to St. Tropez is taking flight in partnership with La Fête du Rosé. Produced in the Gulf of St. Tropez with the prestigious winemakers of Saint-Maur, La Fête du Rosé expertly embodies the lifestyle and ethos of the city. As guests enjoy the sounds of St. Tropez with musical selections in the style of Deep House, Amapiano, and more, they’ll experience a taste of the city in the form of La Fête du Rosé. Beverage partnerships and DJs for each Departure Saturday date to be announced.

Guests can escape to each location from 6 p.m. to midnight with cuisine, cocktails, music, and entertainment throughout L.O.A.’s expansive Pool Club, Restaurant, and Grove. ILLUMINARIUM ATLANTA ADDS AN INTERACTIVE JAMES WEBB TELESCOPE EXPERIENCE TO SPACE: A JOURNEY TO THE MOON & BEYOND

Posted by Liz and John Attaway, 5/5/23

For the first time ever, guests will be immersed in the incredible James Webb Space Telescope imagery, at a scale never seen before

In honor of National Space Day on May 5, Illuminarium is launching an entirely new addition to its wildly popular SPACE spectacle, featuring an interactive James Webb Space Telescope experience. The new addition to the Illuminarium SPACE experience showcases cosmic views from the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST), the largest and most groundbreaking telescope ever built. Illuminarium’s high-tech animation systems and 360-degree fully immersive screens provide viewers with a never-before-seen perspective and scale of the James Webb imagery.

Beyond being immersed in the extraordinary images that the JWST sent back to earth, Illuminarium guests will also see first-hand the dramatic unfurling and deployment of the JWST in deep space — how a telescope the size of a football field that was crammed into a rocket less than 30 feet in diameter came to life.  Some have described the unfolding of the JWST to that of an origami creation or like a remote-controlled opening of a gigantic Swiss army knife.  Illuminarium guests will see an extraordinary 3-D recreation of this amazing technological feat.

“We are thrilled to bring this enhanced version of our SPACE experience to our guests,” said Alan Greenberg, CEO of Illuminarium. “The James Webb Space Telescope is a remarkable tour de force, allowing us to see the universe in ways we’ve never seen before.  And, when you see it at the awesome scale Illuminarium provides, it simply takes your breath away.”

The Illuminarium SPACE experience is driven by an unprecedented blend of technology, including 4K laser projection, 3-D audio, LIDAR based interactivity, in-floor sensation-creating haptics, and even scent, bringing unique authenticity to the immersive experience. Guests should also know that strobe effects, gentle floor vibration, immersive sound, and realistic & responsive projection may all be part of the show they experience.

A Special “After Dark” James Webb Experience (21+)

On Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings, Illuminarium Atlanta will be bringing a special interactive James Webb Space Telescope addition to it’s 21+ SPACE After Dark experience.

SPACE After Dark guests will have the opportunity to interact with Cosmic Cliffs, Tarantula Nebulas, The Southern Ring, Pillars of Creation, and more. Using a wave of the hand, viewers can literally affect what they see on the Illuminarium walls.  Simply walk by the star filled Pillars of Creation, and new colors and sights will be revealed – creating an immersive experience like no other.

Booking your voyage to SPACE

The addition of the James Webb imagery is part of Illuminarium’s ongoing commitment to providing visitors with the most immersive and innovative experiences possible. With cutting-edge technology, breathtaking visuals, and a truly unique atmosphere, Illuminarium is quickly becoming one of Atlanta’s top destinations for entertainment and education.
