SURVIVOR RADIO FOUNDATION TO CAMP OUT FOR CANCER AT RED PEPPER TAQUERIA
 
Two-Day Fundraising Event at the Briarcliff Location Beginning Friday, December 11, 2015

Atlanta, Georgia (December 7, 2015) – Survivor Radio, a Georgia 501c3 Not-For-Profit Corporation, will be “Camping Out For Cancer” at Red Pepper Taqueria’s Briarcliff location this Friday, December 11 and Saturday, December 12, 2015. The two-day fundraising event will help raise money and gifts for children with cancer during the holiday season. Patrons are encouraged to drop off a monetary donation and/or an unwrapped toy in exchange for a complimentary queso dip and bring pictures of loved ones with cancer, which will be displayed on the Survivor Radio tent.

Survivor Radio, a digital station featuring an upbeat mix of music across multiple formats and talk content that includes the sharing of personal stories about cancer, interviews, and information about the latest in cancer research and treatment, will be streaming live throughout the two-day fundraiser.  An inspirational celebration of all cancer survivors and everyone who has family, friends or loved ones who have been impacted by the disease, Survivor Radio continues to raise money for patients that may need help with medical bills, a ride to chemotherapy treatments, food, medicine or even help fulfilling a bucket list. The radio station component, located at www.survivorradio.org, is a connecting point for cancer survivors and fighters and those who love them, and will offer support and encouragement to the entire Survivor Radio listener family.

Second Self will host one last weekend “hurrah” before temporarily halting their tasting room hours this winter to undergo construction. They’re tapping the below brews from over the past year to celebrate. Meatballerz food truck will be on site during Friday’s tours and coffee from Land of a Thousand Hills will be at the brewery for purchase on Saturday. $12 tours include a tasting of up to 36 oz. of beer samples.

About Second Self Beer Company

 

Founders Jason Santamaria and Chris Doyle started Second Self as a home brewing experiment ten years ago, and released their highly acclaimed beers to the public in fall 2014. The two met in college at Georgia Tech and bonded over a shared passion for good beer. Chris went on to work at Atlanta’s Sweetwater Brewery and earned his certificate from the American Brewers Guild Craft Brewers Apprenticeship program. Jason has a background in food and business. About: On Saturday, December 5th is the 2016 Mainx24 in Chattanooga, TN.  Mainx24 is a 24-hour long festival celebrating Main Street and the surrounding Southside, held every December since 2007. Mainx24 features programming all day long, from parades to music project has been a way to celebrate and showcase the burgeoning Southside. Mainx24 is organized completely by residents, merchants, and friends of the Southside community. Behind Mainx24 is an audacious dream: make Chattanooga a 24-hour city. The annual event features programming all day long, from parades to music to poetry readings to chili cook-offs. In the past, we’ve partnered with the Chattanooga Times Free Press to host a photography competition, and local schools participate in planning and implementation (about c/o Mainx24 website under “how it works). Michael Weintrob: Instrumenthead Exhibit at Three Taverns Brewery

Wednesday, December 2 at 6:00 PM we will kick off a 5 day exhibit of renowned music photographer, Michael Weintrob and his Instrumenthead Collection. Weintrob will be in The Parlour to share his experience as a music photographer, his inspiration for Instrumenthead and talk about his soon to be released book, Instrumenthead: The Book. Also expected are local musicians photographed by Weintrob. There will be food provided and music from the up and coming group, Royal Johnson, whose music crosses genres from funk, folk and soul to country blues and rock and roll.

Tickets for this special tour & tasting are $20, which includes a Three Taverns Brewery tour and complimentary tastings of Three Taverns’ year-round beers. Specialty beers may be available.

Thursday, December 3 – Saturday, December 5, Weintrobs’s work will stay on display during The Parlour’s regular tours and tasting times; Thu 5:30–9:00 pm, Fri 5:30-9:00 pm and Sat 1:00-5:00pm.  Tickets for these tours & tasting are $12. Other special activities to be announced, including a live photo shoot that will be open to the public.

Sunday, December 6 from 1:00-5:00 pm will be the last day to see this unique and creative exhibit. We will close the show with music and special appearances from musicians who have worked with Weintrob. You will also receive a complimentary 32 ounce growler of beer. Tickets for Sunday’s tour & tastings are $18, which includes Three Taverns Brewery tour and complimentary tastings of Three Taverns’ year-round beers. Specialty beers may be available.
