GRANT PARK SUMMER SHADE FESTIVAL CELEBRATES ITS 16TH ANNUAL TWO-DAY EVENT AND 135TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE PARK THIS AUGUST

Free, Family-Friendly Festival Featuring Live Music, an Expansive Artist Market, 

Food Trucks, Craft Beer, a 5K Run, Farmer’s Market and Much More

 

Saturday, August 25 and Sunday, August 26, 2018 

Atlanta, Georgia – An annual tradition, the Grant Park Summer Shade Festival will welcome music and art lovers to Atlanta’s oldest park for its 16th year on Saturday, August 25 and Sunday, August 26, 2018. Presented by and benefiting the Grant Park Conservancy, the two-day, fun-filled festival will once again feature an impressive lineup of live music throughout the weekend on two stages in addition to an expansive artist market, Kids Zone, 5K run, and a dedicated VIP area. Open to all ages and free to attend, the 16th annual festival will also have a diverse selection of local food trucks with offerings for all tastes, cocktails, craft beer and more.

Raising more than 100 thousand dollars in 2017 for the Grant Park Conservancy and its mission of protecting, enhancing and preserving the park while planning for its future needs, the 16th annual festival will also celebrate the historic park’s 135 anniversary. A special birthday bash and auction hosted by The Beacon Atlanta is set to kick-off the weekend’s festivities on Friday, August 24th from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Additional details will be released in the coming weeks.

On Saturday morning at 8 a.m., runners, walkers and strollers are invited to take part in the annual Adams Realtors Run for the Park 5K, which includes a free kid’s tot trot for ages 5 and under and a stroller stroll along the race course. Raising funds to support the Grant Park Conservancy, the course map start and finish will be at the main entrance to Zoo Atlanta. CITY WINERY’S BITES ON THE BELTLINE JULY 2018

Atlanta’s Only Urban Winery to Donate 10% of Proceeds Every Tuesday in July to the Atlanta BeltLine Partnership  

 

Beginning July 3, 2018 

Atlanta, Georgia – Conveniently located in the Old Fourth Ward in Ponce City Market, City Winery has joined forces with the Atlanta BeltLine Partnership and will be donating 10% of proceeds from the Barrel Room Restaurant and Wine Bar every Tuesday during lunch and dinner service through July to the dynamic organization’s ongoing program, Bites on the BeltLine.

An ongoing initiative tapping popular local restaurants on the BeltLine, guests are invited to enjoy an impressive wine selection made in-house by Atlanta’s only winemaker, Travis Green, cocktails, and globally-influenced and locally sourced cuisine created by Executive Chef Nicholas Anderson every Tuesday at City Winery for a great cause.  After guests wine and dine, 10% of proceeds from the restaurant will be donated to helping fund Atlanta BeltLine’s Partnership’s efforts to build support for the Atlanta BeltLine, the most comprehensive revitalization effort ever undertaken in the City of Atlanta, connecting 45 neighborhoods directly to each other.  Founded in 2005, the Atlanta BeltLine Partnership is the nonprofit organization that supports the Atlanta BeltLine through fundraising, programming and advocacy, and works with communities, organizations and businesses.

Urban Tree Cidery Rose All Day Party 2018

About: Atlanta’s first craft cidery UrbanTree is celebrating the debut of their new Rosé cider with a special “Rosé All Day” Party on Sunday, July 8th from 12:30-6:30 pm. In addition to the party, UrbanTree has also announced that from now through the end of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, ten percent of profits from sales of the 12oz and 750mL bottles of their pink, sparkling Rosé cider will be donated to Susan G. Komen Greater Atlanta. During the event, the cidery will be serving creative cocktail takes on their Rosé cider with boozy beverages including a “B’Rosé” made with Moonrise Rye Whiskey, a “Glowsé” made with gin from Old Fourth Distillery and a frozen “F’Rosé” made with 229 Vodka. Guests can also enjoy bites from Southern Peach Pastries and Propósito Taco Truck

Rooftop Party at Suntrust Park Atlanta 2018

About: Join them on Saturday, July 7th from 3 pm – 7 pm for a Saturday afternoon rooftop party at SunTrust Park and the Terrapin Taproom! They’re throwing a party at the Xfinity Rooftop Patio and you’re invited! They’ll have the Braves vs. Brewers on our TVs, Foosball, Cornhole and Ping-Pong games, an incredible view of SunTrust Park, and, of course, lots of cold Terrapin beer. They’re also giving away Terrapin Chopsecutioner Bobbleheads to the first 100 fans who arrive on the rooftop! (Must be 21+ to receive bobblehead) Their Taproom on the first and second levels will also be open with amazing Fox Bros BBQ and delicious Terrapin ATL Brew Lab beers on draft. Free to attend.
