Experience an enchanting celebration of Lunar New Year featuring lights, music and visuals at the top of every hour from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the Atlantic Green. The nightly show features a beautifully designed “fog” breathing dragon, known as a Chinese symbol of good fortune, emerging from a cloud of fog near Atlantic Green and over 400 red lanterns illuminating the area for a special lantern show to honor the spiritual tradition that celebrates the reunion of loved ones. Visit here to learn more.

Saturday, Feb. 1: LUNAR NEW YEAR FESTIVAL PRESENTED BY LEXUS
Located on Atlantic Green | 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. EDT
Join the Heart of Atlanta in honoring Lunar New Year with a festival full of traditional rituals and fun for the entire family. The festivities include a mesmerizing Lion Dance, a captivating Kung Fu/Tai Chi performance, a symbolic craft station, a flower truck and a reader who will tell you about your year using your Chinese Zodiac sign! Join California Pizza Kitchen from Feb. 10 through Feb. 16 for the sweetest meal for two, including one starter, two entrees and one dessert. Chinese New Year, also known as Lunar New Year or Spring Festival, is traced back to approximately 3,500 years ago and is one of the most significant festivals in Chinese and East Asian cultures to celebrate the start of a new year. The years are marked in cycles of 12, with each year represented by a rotation of animals based on the tale of a “Great Race” of animals by the Jade Emperor. This year, Lunar New Year falls on Wednesday, Jan. 29, making it the Year of the Snake, symbolizing wisdom, transformation and renewal.

LIGHT UP YOUR OCTOBER AT ATLANTIC STATION’S DIWALI FESTIVAL

Atlantic Station is partnering with Atlanta Film Society, a cornerstone of the city’s vibrant arts community, known for supporting independent artists and hosting the prestigious Atlanta Film Festival, and NaanStop, a popular family-owned Indian restaurant located in Atlantic Station, to light up your October with its inaugural Diwali Festival. Known as the festival of lights, Diwali is a cherished holiday celebrated across India and worldwide. Serving as the conclusion of the festival season, the festival gets its name from the row (avail) of clay lamps (deepa) that people light outside their homes to symbolize the inner light that protects them from spiritual darkness. Join Atlantic Station for an unforgettable night of cultural celebration.

This vibrant event will kick off with a Bollywood movie screening of the classic “Dil to Pagal Hai” (1997) at 6 p.m., followed by various festive activities, including:

Atlantic Station is the most festive place to fall in love with fall! With events as vibrant as the changing leaves, like an autumn train ride and spooky face painting, it is no tricks, all treats! Amble an autumn train ride, paint some pumpkins, or watch “Halloweentown” at Atlantic Green while munching on Kilwins’ caramel apples. No matter how you choose to celebrate, this festival will surely overflow with pumpkin spice and everything nice.  

Complimentary Harvest at the Station’s offerings and activities include:   

  • Crafts: Paint pumpkins, which are provided to the first 300 guests, or enjoy spooky face painting.   
  • Halloween Movie: Watch the witchy classic, “Halloweentown,” at Atlantic Green.

As school is back in session, the Heart of Atlanta is the place to be for a vibrant lineup of events to officially wrap up summer later this month. The fall Creator’s Market is now through December, while Improv in the Park and Throwback Thursdays continue, and the Atlanta Falcons return with their Dirty Birds Rally featuring 2 Chainz. Atlantic Station also introduces a new fall event, Harvest at the Station with enough pumpkin spice to make everything nice!
