Join Girls on the Run Georgia’s Young Professionals Board for the second annual Pickleball Open Tournament presented by Shamrock Building Systems on Saturday, March 22, at ITA Atlanta! All proceeds from the tournament benefit the Girls on the Run Georgia Scholarship Fund. The Pickleball Open is a double, round-robin tournament in which all teams are guaranteed to play three games. It is open to players of all levels: advanced, intermediate, and social. Registration closes on March 15.

The event is family-friendly, with food and drinks for purchase and spectating opportunities from the Skydeck at ITA Atlanta. By purchasing a spectator ticket, you can watch the tournament while supporting Girls on the Run Georgia. Children 10 & under are free.

Mathnasium of Atlanta Teams Up with Girl Scouts of the USA as Regional Cookie Booth Partner, Hosts Fun & Educational Family Events

Local Mathnasium Centers Brings the Joy of Cookies and Learning to Families in Atlanta Area

Mathnasium of Atlanta is excited to announce its partnership with Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta for National Girl Scout Cookie Weekend. On Saturday, February 22 and Sunday, February 23, Mathnasium Centers in the Atlanta Area will host special events to celebrate this partnership with Girl Scout cookie booths outside the centers. Families are invited to enjoy a variety of fun, interactive math activities while supporting local Girl Scout troops by purchasing cookies. This collaboration blends the beloved cookie tradition with Mathnasium’s mission to inspire a love of learning and help children develop their math skills in an engaging, hands-on environment. 

These events will feature a range of engaging activities designed to inspire fun and learning for the entire family: 

  • Smart Cookie Challenge & Raffle: Kids can put their estimating skills to the test by guessing the number of cookies in the jar, with the chance to win a delicious prize. 
  • Girl Scout-Themed Friendship Bracelets: Kids will get creative at the bracelet station, using number charms, Girl Scout-colored beads, and string to craft their own personalized designs. 
  • Cookie-Themed Activity Sheets: Engaging, problem-solving activities tailored to Girl Scout age groups will encourage kids to think critically while sharpening their math skills. 
  • Math Stations: Hands-on, interactive math stations will provide an exciting way for families to explore and strengthen their math skills in a fun, immersive setting. 

“At Mathnasium, we’re always looking for exciting ways to make learning fun and impactful for kids,” said Doreen Chua, Owner of Mathnasium in Berkeley Lake. “Partnering with Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta gives us the perfect opportunity to put a fun math twist on a beloved community tradition. After the events, families can continue the fun at home with these math-inspired activities using Girl Scout cookies: 

  • Cookie Counting & Sorting: Sort cookies by size, flavor, or color, and then practice math skills by adding, subtracting, or multiplying the number of cookies in each group. 
  • Fraction Fun with Cookies: Use cookies to teach fractions by dividing them into halves, thirds, or quarters, allowing kids to share and learn how to combine fractions. 
  • Cookie Pattern Play: Create patterns using different cookies. Challenge children to identify or complete patterns, promoting an understanding of sequences and symmetry.

Roswell Music Festival Returns to Canton Street, April 26, 2025, with Headliner Drivin N Cryin

The highly anticipated Roswell Music Festival is set to return for its third year on Saturday, April 26, 2025, bringing an unforgettable day of live music, community spirit, and celebration to Historic Downtown Roswell. This year’s festival promises an incredible lineup, an expanded VIP experience, and continued philanthropic support for Shepherd’s Men, Hop On A Cure, and Rock for Rescues.

Leading this year’s festival is the legendary Southern rock band Drivin N Cryin, known for their timeless hits and high-energy performances. Joining them on stage will be an eclectic mix of talented artists, including Frankly Scarlet, Canyonland ft. Michelle Malone, Cousin Curtiss, Dock Rock Radio, and Penelope Road.
