ATLANTIC STATION’S FEBRUARY EVENTS LINEUP WILL WARM YOUR HEART

The intown destination invites the community to experience a variety of outdoor events

Atlantic Station has a variety of events planned throughout February that are sure to warm your heart. Celebrate the Year of the Rabbit as Atlantic Station continues to honor the Lunar New Year with a spectacular display of Lunar New Year decor and traditions along with a magnificent fire breathing dragon. Treat your taste buds to one of the many flavorful food and beverage festivals happening throughout the month in the Pinnacle Lot, such as the Atlanta Oyster Festival, the Atlanta Winter Beer Festival and the Beer, Bourbon & BBQ Festival. Celebrate Black History Month with an outdoor movie series on Atlantic Green. The month may be short, but there’s plenty to do at Atlantic Station throughout February.

Lunar New Year

Now through Sunday, Feb. 5 from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. daily

Visit Atlantic Green to celebrate the Year of the Rabbit and experience mesmerizing Lunar New Year decor. At the top of the hour nightly from 5 – 9 p.m., an impressive “fog” breathing 90-foot-long dragon with over 25,000 lights, known as the Chinese symbol of good fortune, will blow fog out in the plaza to surprise guests. Also happening at the top of the hour every night, over 450 beautifully decorated red lanterns will illuminate Atlantic Green for a glistening lantern show. Black History Month Movie Series

Monday, Feb 13 at 5 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 15 and 22 at 7 p.m.

Celebrate Black History Month with an epic and educational movie series on Atlantic Green! Bring your family or friends and a cozy blanket while enjoying the film. Stop by at one of Atlantic Station’s restaurants for a delicious meal before or after the movie. This event is free to the public. Atlanta Oyster Festival

Saturday, Feb. 4 from 1 – 5 p.m.

Oh shucks! Atlanta’s favorite oyster festival returns to the Pinnacle Lot for oyster shucking and lots of entertainment. Guests can enjoy a selection of fresh oysters accompanied with beer, wine, mimosas and brunch punch; live music; and tunes spun by DJ Qtip. The festival is 21+ and general admission tickets include entry, entertainment, a souvenir cup and all alcohol samples. Food will be available at an additional cost. Atlanta Winter Beer Festival

Saturday, Feb. 11 from 1 – 5 p.m.

Grab your friends and sip on boozy drinks in the Pinnacle Lot at the Atlanta Winter Beer Festival! Sample a wide selection of over 150 beers, wines and seltzers from homegrown Georgia brewers and other breweries from across the country. Grab a bite to eat at one of the many food trucks on site and enjoy tunes spun by DJ Qtip under a heated tent. Tickets include entry, a souvenir cup, entertainment and all beer, wine and seltzer samples. Food will be available at an additional cost. This is a 21+ event. Tiny Doors ATL Studio Open

Saturday, Feb. 18 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Stop in and meet Atlantic Station’s artist-in-residence, Karen Anderson Singer of Tiny Doors ATL, when she opens her studio for a behind-the-scenes peek into how her public art comes to life. See Tiny Doors in progress, shop exclusive merchandise, view the retired door gallery and learn how she has become one of Atlanta’s most popular and well known artists. February is all about spreading and sharing the love, and The Works has a variety of events planned throughout the month that are sure to prevent those winter blues! Put your knowledge and axe-throwing skills to the test at American Axes’ Trivi-Axe. Cheer on the winning team at the LVII Super Bowl watch party. Enjoy a romantic evening with your loved one while tasting fabulous wines at Taste Wine Bar & Market. Celebrate Mardi Gras season with drinks, delicious food and of course, King Cake! Mardi Gras Live!, Big Game Bash, Live UFC Fight Event, Shamrocks & Shenanigans & More

  • Big Game Bash (Sun., Feb. 12) – Clear eyes, full hearts and a big screen for the biggest professional football game. Live! at the Battery’s Sports and Social Atlanta is the place to be for an in-game experience full of games, giveaways and so much more.   • Mardi Gras Live! (Sat., Feb. 18) – The entertainment destination is bringing the French Quarter back to Atlanta this Mardi Gras.   • Live NFC Event (Fri., March 10) – This March, Live! at the Battery is hosting their first National Fighting Championship (NFC) event. Fight attendees will have the chance to experience 12+ fights in the NFC cage at one of the most exciting and new environments for watching live fights.   • Shamrocks & Shenanigans (Fri., March 17) – Get ready to enjoy everything GREEN at Live! At the Battery’s St. Patrick’s Day celebration. Guests can enjoy all the best Irish-themed entertainment, including signature drinks, green beer and live entertainment to help make St. Patrick’s Day pure gold. Those looking for some basketball madness can enjoy games on the 32ft LED TV screen as well. Come sham-rock & roll and don’t miss out on the luck of the Irish! A one-of-a-kind place to catch sports, dine in style, sip cold beer and craft cocktails, play games and do a bit of bull riding and line dancing, Live! at The Battery plays host to some of Atlanta’s most fun food and drink events. Ongoing happenings include:

  • Girls Night Out with food and drink specials every Thursday from 8-11pm
  • Freedom Friday, which welcomes military personnel, vets, first responders and public service members to skip the line, get free cover (credentials required) and enjoy drink specials every first Friday of the month.
  • Silent Saturday, inviting guests to grab a pair of headphones and get in the groove with beats from local DJs

CITY WINERY ATLANTA’S FEBRUARY EVENTS CELEBRATE BLACK HISTORY MONTH

CITY WINERY’S OBSERVANCE OF BLACK HISTORY MONTH
Celebration of Culinary Artisan Events features African-American Chefs and Wineries

 
City Winery celebrates the achievements of the African-American community this February for Black History Month with food and beverage events curated by Beverage Director James Brim. Brim himself is a trailblazer in a growing number of African-American sommeliers and beverage directors in Atlanta.

City Winery’s Celebration of Culinary Artisans ft. Edna Lewis’ “The Taste of Country Cooking” on Saturday, February 15th celebrates the life and achievements of the late Edna Lewis. Edna Lewis was an African-American author and chef, renowned for her traditional Southern cooking that emphasized fresh and locally grown foods. Towards the end of her career, Lewis relocated to Decatur, GA, where she spent the rest of her days. The South’s answer to Julia Child, Edna Lewis has inspired an entire generation of African-American chefs. Her life and impact will be celebrated at City Winery for Black History Month. Chef Vawanda Richardson will prepare an interpretation of the fresh taste of early spring, served family style and paired with wines from African-American producers.
7 p.m. start, 9 p.m. end. Tickets $75 plus applicable fees.

On Saturday, February 29th, City Winery hosts a Celebration of Culinary Artisans: Vertamae Smart Grosvenor “Vibration Cooking, or Tales of a Geechee Girl”. Vertamae Smart Grosvenor was a world-renowned author, performer, and chef. Born in South Carolina in 1937, Vertamae was strongly influenced by her Gullah Geechee community. Having befriended some of the most influential artists, writers, actors, and musicians of the twentieth century, Vertamae held a treasure trove of stories about her experiences  with people like novelist and poet Maya Angelou, and jazz musician Hugh Masekala. The dinner will be with wines from African-American producers paired with the dinner.

Destination shares the love with specials for the local community

Roses are red, violets are blue … The Battery Atlanta has things for the community to do! The lifestyle destination’s restaurants are dishing out a variety of flavors this February – from a seafood series to crave-worthy Cajun dishes to the must-have wine, cheese and chocolate for the holiday. A one-stop date night destination, The Battery Atlanta invites locals to sweeten dinner plans at its intimate restaurants offering prix fix menus. Throughout the month, Atlantans can share their love of sports teams, trivia games and live music with friends and family.

Every Tuesday at 6 p.m.
A tailgate favorite is now a league of its own! Spectators are encouraged to watch the action and cheer on league participants as they play games leading up to the season’s final tournament. League winners will receive a championship trophy and other prizes.

Wellness Series: Yoga
Monday, February 24 at 6:30 p.m.
Start the week off stress-free at an outdoor yoga class presented by Kaiser Permanente. As part of the Wellness Series at The Battery Atlanta, this free event is open to all ages to relax and unwind on the Plaza Green. Participants are required to bring a mat and encouraged to bring water.
